We were all approved. We drove 2 hours to Ottawa to meet our new companion cat. Everything was…read moreperfect. The volunteers at PetSmart were wonderful. And then they took the picture of us with our new girl. And then it all went south because we had put a collar on her. Over the phone, Donna said that putting a collar on an indoor-only cat is "animal abuse". They don't need collars because they're never suppose to go out and they'll be identified by their chips. With that logic, I suppose she thinks children don't need lifejackets because they're not suppose to fall overboard but they can always be identified by their DNA. Clearly she's never had plumbers, electricians, etc coming in and out of her house and spooking one of her cats. In our very rural neck of the woods, if a cat is wandering around outside without a collar, it's assumed feral, probably diseased, and possibly rabid. No one is going to pick it up and take it to the vet to get scanned. There's even rumours around here that some individuals like to take pot shots at collarless animals because they obviously won't be missed. Whereas, if the cat has a collar, it's assumed to be vaccinated and safe and have a loving and caring human at its home. And if that collar has a tag that says "I'm an Indoor ONLY cat", they can expect when the call, that human is going to respond "Oh, thank God you found our baby! We've been tearing the house apart looking for her!" I need to believe that because it's what Donna said and not that Donna was using the collar as an excuse because she has something about LGBTQ+ couples.

Then other people started to bring their dogs in for more complicated jobs. The gentleman performed excellently. He treated all with respect. Making sure we were all taken care of. Scheduled all jobs, and pick up times. He was even able to trim my dogs' nails as well. While he helped customers, I did let myself inside the dog area, and helped calm down the dogs. Taco, is very friendly. I will be back there again. Hopefully they will have more staff working there next time. That gentleman was swamped. One thing I did notice, Google maps has the store front on Merivale. It's actually at the back of the building.

One of the best ideas I ever had. I saw the Purrdy Paws Mobile Spa van on the road one day and…read morebecause my job is of a graphic designer I loved the giant logo on their van and that's initially why I decided to give them a try. My cat is terrified to go in the cat carrier so this has been great and they've done the best job of trimming himi up (which is necessary for sanitary reasons) of anyone that has ever groomed him. I would recommend the Purrdy Paws Mobile Spa to anyone.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Pet owners deserve to know what happened here…read more I brought my cat in for a simple grooming service -- a belly trim and nail clipping. The entire appointment lasted five minutes, yet I was charged $96. My cat was returned to me with loose fur still hanging from her belly, knots still present, and her nails untrimmed, despite being billed for them. But the worst part came after we got home. My cat had a one‑inch cut under her right front leg -- in the exact area the groomer shaved. This wound required stitches. We do not shave or groom our cat at home, so the injury could only have occurred during the appointment. When I contacted the business, instead of taking responsibility, they attempted to deflect blame and suggest the injury happened elsewhere. The photos clearly show the shaved patch and the cut in the same location. Their explanation was not only inaccurate -- it was dismissive and unprofessional. A rushed five‑minute service, incomplete grooming, a serious injury, and then an attempt to deny responsibility. Pet owners should be aware of this before trusting this facility with their animals. I strongly advise others to think twice before booking here.
