Facilities were clean and bright, with lots of toys and treats on hand and lots of room to roam around. Took my 4 month old yorkie in for his first clean up bath and trim and felt totally comfortable leaving him with Helene and her assistant. They booked him for 3 hours to clean him up so that he got lots of time to play and calm down in between sessions and charged me an extremely reasonable price. The staff obviously love dogs. When I came to pick up my pup he was totally relaxed (and he HATES baths and brushing) and was happily running around. He actually ran back to the spa door after we walked out he was so eager to go back. Thanks to the staff for taking such great care of my little pup! He looks, feels, and smells great!

They acted like my cat tried to murder them (I am confused- what cat actually likes to be groomed? shouldn't you expect some resistance? isn't this why you wear protection to your shoulders almost?). I would suggest approaching it differently when you refuse to have animals back in your studio. Maybe take a more kind approach instead of acting like I own a cat from hell?? Or here is a thought, if a veterinarian urges you to mildly sedate the cat while getting them groomed, you should probably follow VETERINARIAN SUGGESTIONS, considering you are NOT a veterinarian and they certainly know what is best for the cats health and overall happiness. I would also suggest adjusting the tone in the voicemails you leave customers. The voicemail I received from you was enough to ensure I never recommend you or use your services again. The tone was very aggressive and continuously touched upon the fact that you had " told me to do this service once a month". Try understanding that not all customers have the schedule or funds to bring a CAT in once a month for services- this does not make us a bad owner, by any means. Most peoples routines consist of simply BRUSHING their cat only. Though I appreciate your suggestions to keep my cats coat healthy, I do NOT appreciate your judgment in regards to how I care for my perfectly healthy and very happy/spoiled cat. With that being said, sure they may be popular, but from start to finish there was 0 professionalism and 0 respect given to myself.

I said yes since he fights me when I do it. Then we talked about his age and his hygiene. She convinced me that he probably needed a bath, especially after wetting himself. I knew it wasn't cheap, $46, but figured since it's been a while I probably should. I left him there and went to run a few errands. When I came back 50 mins later he was all ready to go home. He was purring and kneading the blanket in his carrier, smelling fresh as a spring morning. I was really surprised that he was so happy. The groomer told me that he actually liked his bath! I wish I was there to see that LOL. It's been 2 weeks since we went and he still smells quite nice. His fur is still soft and no traces of dandruff to be found. I really like that they only do 1 cat at a time, so my Chomper got all the attention and I didn't have to worry about his interactions with other cats. This makes me comfortable to bring in my other cat, a bengal, to Cat's Pajamas since she does not play well with others. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get their cat groomed. The staff are friendly and we left as very happy customers. I will bring back Chomper in the future and will tell all my friends to bring their fur-babies here too.

I've taken our dog to Pretoria Pet Hospital for almost 2 years now and it has been a very good experience. I've visited them on numerous occasions; ranging from normals visits for vaccinations to an emergency visit when our puppy ate something that made him keep vomiting. Every time we've been treated with respect by the competent and courteous staff. Pretoria is in a great location. It is close to the canal path and Bank street so it is an easy walk for anyone who lives downtown. Being able to walk to the vet is important if you don't own a car as many taxi drivers will refuse service if your pet doesn't fit in a carrier and waiting for a pet taxi during an emergency is stressful. If you do have a car, they only have street parking but the street has very few business so I don't think you'll run into problems finding a spot. We did some price comparing when looking to get our dog neutered. We found Pretoria to be competitive with others vet in Ottawa but but on the higher end of estimates. For vaccinations Pretoria cost the same amount as the other places we were considering and was more convenient. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. During our visits we've seen four of the five veterinarians and they've all been wonderful. In fact, I like them so much I don't even bother requesting a specific vet when booking an appointment. The vet techs and assistants have all been very friendly and good at their jobs. They do a great job of getting our dog, who is weary of strangers, to let him take his temperature and check him out. The receptionists have all been very nice as well. They always call the day before our appointment to confirm appointments and actually call back if you leave a message. In addition, if you just have a question they'll check with a vet and call you back. This is great when you have a "my pet just _____ do I need to bring him in"" question. One time our dog managed to break off part of a knuckle bone and swallowed it. A short while later he started vomiting 5-6 times in a short period so I called Pretoria to see what they recommended. The reception was very helpful and were able to get me in to see a doctor within an hour to have our dog checked out. The vet did an examination and gave a prescription for two things to help him pass the bone chunks and keep down water. She said if that didn't work by tomorrow we should being him in for xrays and possibly surgery (all done in office). The total cost for the vet trip including medicine was around $180 and our dog recovered wonderfully after he took the medicine. Downtown is lucky to have such a great pet hospital. Yes, it is a little more expensive than some other options out in the suburbs but it is convenient and has a wonderful staff.

The morning of are trip she email the dogs medical info and asked if there was anything we needed to bring or need to know before we go. We were told no and they would see us later. Being are first time there we showed up around 2 not knowing there are special drop off times. The owner was rude from the start and wanted us to pay $31.00 to drop off the dogs early and that we should no this as it's on the email. I started to asked my wife to take a look at the emails and the owner didn't let me finish my conversation with my wife when she went nuts screaming at us and getting in our face. I keep asking if I could finish my conversation but she keep freaking out saying no and telling us to pay the $31 or get out of her property. If she would have let me finish I would have said if it's on the email i have no issues paying it. We ended up leaving as her verbal harassment was to much. We later check all email correspondence and the only thing is a small signature block with the time they are open. There was nothing in regards to a early drop off fee or a fee if you show up at a deferent time. When then went to Hwy 7 pet retreat unannounced. It was not a drop off time but they were very helpful and kind and had room for our dogs. Since it was our first time there they took the time with a smile to explain how it works there.
