She did a fantastic job and made and very kindly fit me in at the end of the day when she would have been home relaxing instead. I really appreciated this, especially since we are strangers. But I tell you, that is GREAT business!! I highly recommend Petailz because: A) I LOVED that she came to my house! Wow yes she comes to your house! Hee hee.. I'm still excited about it. It is much easier than taking the dogs into the car and bringing them to the groomer and them sitting in a crate, sometimes all day, before it's their turn! B) The van was clean! Clean clean clean! I have been to many groomers and their place looked dirty! Not this one. This van was so clean! When you get your groomed puppy or dog back, they smell fresh and clean, not perfume!!..But clean smell. :) And if your dog ever gets sprayed by a skunk, they can get the smell out...no more bathing them in tomatoes! C) The woman who groomed my dogs, Janet, was friendly, professional, very courteous, very patient and helped me so much by fitting me in! I had to send puppies by plane late that night, so it was very necessary to get fit in at the last minute. I thought about washing them myself, as I had done the week before, but I had such a bad headache all day today and the thought of washing and blowdrying 7 dogs!!!...made me nauseous with my headache. She was very patient with my highly anxious, separation anxiety doggie. D) The price is right!

I've taken friends' cats to groomers many times, and I have taken my own cats to other groomers…read moreoutside of Ottawa before.... the thing with a trip to the groomer is that your kitty's state of mind at the start of the trip plays a huge factor in what kind of experience you are likely to get. If your kitty just spent the whole morning interacting with new strangers, and you clearly struggled to get your kitty into the carrier bag to bring her to the groomer.... and then upon arrival you are in a rush to leave the groomer because you are trying too hard to do too many things in too little time, your kitty is going to feel abandoned and you should not be surprised that your kitty is super stressed out when you return to pick up your furbaby If your kitty has spent the morning cuddling with you, and you had nil problems getting your kitty into the carrier bag to bring her to the groomer.... and you spent some time with your furbaby as the groomer gets started, it should not be difficult for you to anticipate the probability of a less stressful session will be higher right? So here we go.... I brought my kitties for their first visits to this business on Tue 15 Oct 19 and on Thu 17 Oct 19; and I had a phenomenal experience. The receptionist Vanessa was a total sweetheart, and the groomer/owner Chantal was fabulous with my fur babies. There was very little for me to do as Chantal was very proactive in asking me questions. She had no objections at all to me watching her work, which is a very good indicator that she is very competent and she is very confident in her ability to handle my kitties When I was there, there was a house cat and dog. Their house cat was super mellow, and the dog was naturally curious as I was a new customer. Aside from two or three "welcome!" barks initially, the house dog was quiet and super sweet! The place was as clean as a groomer's business can be expected: the reception area was immaculate, and the working room itself had fluffs of dog/cat fur everywhere. Unless you can put your hand on your own heart and swear your home is kept utterly free of dog/cat fur, you need to manage your own silly expectations of how clean you think a groomer's business should/shouldn't be After staying with my furbaby each time for about 10 mins, I left and then came back, and my furbaby looked great! And once again Chantal had no problems with me watching her finish up Am very much going to come back again!

When their manager came over, they basically told me, "No, we can't accept it because I don't know if you really bought it or not." That was extremely insulting to me. I was honestly surprised because I was literally buying about $50 worth of new items from them right then. I just wanted to return something I'd previously bought that my bird didn't use. I explained that an employee had told me earlier I could return it if my bird didn't like it. The manager just said, "I'm sorry that happened and that you got incomplete information," but didn't care about my satisfaction at all. They could have easily fixed their own mistake and kept a paying customer happy, but they chose not to. Honestly, it was a really bad experience. I was just about to leave a review and I noticed a lot of other people have had the same issues with this store. I think it's really the rude behavior of the managers and staff that's the problem, not the store itself or its products. It's a big, well-stocked store, but I'm just not happy with the service at all.
