I would say you have to definitely go early we went at almost 5pm on a Saturday and they were out of almost everything I wanted to try. I asked them and they said to come early. We did try a few things, the butter bread was good, a mango tiramisu cup was delicious! I got the red bean and mung bean pastry cakes for my niece and she liked them. I tried the lotus and taro little pastries as well and I wasn't a fan. I will try to come back early to try all their wonderful breads! Friendly staff

If you want a good zongzi in south Philly, you can grab one here. It's warm, good amount of red beans, peanuts, and pork belly. If you want the buns, the recommend coming here in the morning because at the end of the day they are drier. Three percent fee if you pay with card

What a cute find. Lovely little bakery with tons of traditional Asian options (buns, custards, etc.). Mix of savory and sweet. We ended up getting a LOT of things as we had so much trouble deciding between everything and everything was so cheap! Some were better than others but definitely glad we got a nice array. They also sell bubble tea but we opted to skip this this time.

They have an amazingly large menu for such a small low key place. One of my favorite bakeries in Philly!

I stopped by the other day because the sign was too cute to pass by plus an Asian bakery on Oregon avenue in Philly ! Yes lemme see what they got! It's small but cute inside. Coffee was good. The two women behind counter were nice and u formative and helpful. If you want to try something new and different go here and give it a try. They have some unique stuff to try. I will definitely Turku try again when I'm in Philly.

It was pretty full when I got there because school just ended, but I got a matcha latte with aloe (it was a last min. topic decision because they ran out of tapioca pearls that day) and my friend got a strawberry milk tea. Both were great, and the server genuinely seemed like a nice guy. We also got a pineapple bun and butter cookies (they were kinda pricey) and they were rlly good! I'll definitely come again to try a few more of their drink options.

Love that there is an Asian bakery in South Philly! Everything made fresh and usually sold out by the end of the day! They are currently selling mooncakes for the Mid Autumn season. My favorite is the BBQ pork bun, the Chinese tamales (joong in Cantonese), egg tarts, the red bean cakes, almond cookies, and lychee smoothie. The staff there are so friendly. Saves me a trip to Chinatown as well

    Moldy egg :(

Came here to pick up a bag of breads and pastries last weekend. Store was pretty empty by the time I came (around 5:30) so come early! I got - 4 pandan egg tarts - 1 ham and egg bun - 1 snow mountain bun - 1 butter and sugar bun Unfortunately, the ham and egg bun was moldy so I can't comment on the taste. The other two buns were pretty dry and flavorless. The butter and sugar bun had a super light sugar glaze and I think butter slivers inside and the snow mountain bun had a slight sugary crust on top. Both bread portions were very dry. The egg tarts were okay but the custard part was more jello like in consistency and more sugary than I was used to. The crust was also not flaky pastry crust but a cookie crust (just as a headsup!) service was super friendly, but would probably go back to the Asian bakeries in Chinatown instead.

One of those "bought the rights and then dipped" situations. The best part is that everything is SO MUCH CHEAPER NOW. I seriously need to stop going as often as I do because I love it here. Their boba tea is like half the price of other spots in the area. I even came in once just wanting a cup of boba because my friends were making tea at home and wanted to mix it in, and they were totally happy to accommodate. Their boba is brown sugar boba, so they actually put effort into making the drinks taste good. The tea itself is great, the service is super friendly, and honestly I have no notes. Definitely check it out now that it's locally owned instead of a chain.

The drink was refreshing and fruity with a natural tartness from the dragon fruit. Not overly sweet even though I forgot to ask for less sugar. Their 100 percent sugar tastes more like 75 percent, which I actually liked since I usually go for 50. The boba had a nice chew and was not overly sweet either. The banh mi was really solid. Crispy toasted bread on the outside, soft inside, with a good balance of savory meat, pickled veggies, and fresh herbs. Bright, tangy, and satisfying without feeling heavy. Went around 1:30 so technically past lunch, but it was still busy. There was a bit of a line and people kept crowding or cutting, but the staff were working fast and getting orders out efficiently. They also have a small front area with grab and go items like bottled drinks, spring rolls, and other snacks. There is even a heated case with fried items by the register. Did not try those this time but definitely will next visit. Seating is limited, more of a quick stop spot, but perfect for a casual bite. Overall really good. Great flavors, good portions, and faster service than expected for how busy it gets. Definitely coming back.

Shop is on the smaller side, but definitely clean and appealing. Love having Vietnamese music videos on the screen that are chiller and a nice change of pace from other places that are showing sensory overloading K-Pop or anime. Definitely less distracting when eating in. Our group ordered a ton of different things, but I got the #13 Ube Halo Halo. I've had the real stuff in the Philippines, and this was pretty good! We asked for an extra cup to share too, and were able to get that, along with our desserts within minutes of ordering. Not too busy on a Sunday evening, so this place was also a great place to chat. Only 3-4 tables here, so seating can only accommodate smaller groups, especially if there are other groups already.

It felt like a reliable, consistent, and delicious reminder of home. I ordered the #4 Chè Sương Sa Hạt Lựu, which comes with red tapioca (my favorite!), mung bean, jello, grass jelly, pandan jelly, and coconut milk. The mix of flavors and textures was spot on with chewy, crunchy, smooth, and refreshing elements all in one cup. At first I thought there was a lot of ice but once everything was stirred in, the balance was just right and it kept the dessert cool without diluting the taste. Service was quick and efficient. My order was ready in no time and the staff handled a steady stream of customers with ease. The space itself is small with a few tables and chairs, and it definitely filled up over the hour I was there on a random Monday afternoon. It's not my go to spot but it's always a safe option when that boba craving hits. And they have a good variety when it comes to milky and fruitier options. For additional context, I usually prefer fruit teas and adjust the sugar level (typically one level below 100% sweetness). After trying a few of their drinks, I would rank Gong Cha as being around the same level as Kung Fu Tea. I like that this location normally makes their drinks starting at the 70% sugar level, which is a plus in my book. Overall, out of the drinks I've tried, there haven't been any standouts that result in me craving Gong Cha when that bubble tea craving hits. But, the drinks I have liked have been pleasant. Drink Ordered: * worth trying - [Lemon Ai-Yu White Pearl]: I think the lemon tastes too artificial but it's less noticeable at the 70% sugar level. I like the ai-yu jelly and white pearl combination though. - [Lemon Wintermelon Basil Seeds*]: I really liked the lemon and wintermelon combination. - [Grapefruit Yogurt Drink with Aloe Vera*]: I liked that this drink was more grapefruit forward compared to other similar drinks from other bubble tea shops. I've also ordered this drink with the white pearl topping, which is an equally good topping option. - [Wintermelon Milk Tea with Aloe Vera*]: There was a small sign on the counter recommending the aloe vera topping with the Wintermelon Milk Tea but I would not personally recommend that combination. I feel like aloe vera pairs better with non-milky drinks. The wintermelon milk tea drink itself was good though and had a really pleasant, fragrant wintermelon aftertaste. It probably would have tasted better with the pearl topping. - [Thai Mango Smoothie]: This is a seasonal summer drink. The mango flavor was light and tasted artificial and had more of a slushy consistency. It comes with passion fruit jelly as the topping. I thought that the drink was very underwhelming. - [Lychee Oolong with Ai-Yu Jelly]: The drink was too sweet but could taste better if it was less sweet. The drink is more oolong tea forward. Would I go back? : Yes, but only if I'm in the mood for it. Mr. Wish, which is one of my favorite bubble tea shops, is in the same plaza and I will almost always choose Mr. Wish over Gong Cha.
