Horrible customer/patient service! Would NOT RECOMMEND!!! You go and sign in, & then are told to go home, and they will call you in 4 to 5 hours! We did just that! Later on that day (a few hours later), we received a call from Doctor's On Duty to return to their office to be seen! Brought in my client, who is diagnosed with Autism/Bi-Polar and we waited in the waiting room for 45 minutes and an additional 45 minutes in the patient's room to be seen by a doctor! People with Autism have a very difficult time waiting, let alone one & a half hours (90 minutes). This is unacceptable, and we will not be back! read more

I have waited almost 2 hours for just a Physical!!!! Every time I called there was no answer to make an appointment. I am a medical professional and I know with COVID everything is impacted but this is ridiculous! I am a nurse just tryin to get back to work and I think their check in system is broken because they never called me in for over an hour. Routine HIV draw for work: 1 - 1 1/2 hour wait even after appointment. 2 - Messed up blood draw required 2 sticks. 3 - Got call that ssn or barcode mixed up so they have to do it again. Terrible experience. Avoid if you can. read more

Just visited the clinic and the whole experience was great. I was checked in by Selene and Miguel who where the medical assistants that roomed me and performed my blood draw which didn't hurt at all. I had a FaceTime appointment with DR.LALIA BARNES and let me tell you she exceeded beyond my expectations. I had already spoken with three doctors from D.D and two of them disregarded my concerns claiming it could either be motherhood or something else to why I'm experiencing my symptoms. Didn't even bother asking me further question or ordering bloodwork. The third Doctor I spoke to did order blood work and did seem concerned but was still missing a couple things.But fortunately Dr.Lalia Barnes was aware of those other symptoms & asked me the RIGHT questions. Truly listened to me, wanted to get to the bottom of what could my possible illness be, ordered melé blood work, and didn't make me feel like my symptoms were in my head or a cause of motherhood like the other doctors. She was very knowledgeable and I wish I didn't have to go through so many Doctors to feel like my symptoms were being considered. She's a healthcare provider for the right reasons and we need more like her. read more

Very slow as a turtle.They have to improve this becoz this is the main problem of this clinic. You come to the clinic much early than your appointment time and yet more than an hour past your appointment and still have not seen a doctor yet.This is owned by SVMH group, there should be an improvement already.People are fizzed off waiting to be called. When you go inside they were just laughing as if no patients waiting to be seen.Once you are already in the room, you still wait for your clinician. This place is ridiculous! The young girls in the front have no proper training and would rather turn away people just bc they don't want to stay. If they're picking the healthcare field to work in then stay committed with any cost given. I called the Doctors on Duty in Monterey and they informed me that at all of the offices should be taking walk ins till 3pm and I had went before 1pm so obviously there needs to be some fixing. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE! The Monterey office is more professional and understands how to communicate with patients. read more

I used the online "get in line" feature and set an appt for 10:55 am. I showed up at 10:40 am and was told I couldn't have used the online feature because "they took that down". Obviously that couldn't be true because I had a screenshot of my confirmation and showed it to the girls at the front desk, who would not honor my appt and said I could take a walk-in spot (behind what looked like 6-7 other people already waiting). I had a babysitter set up for the appt time I made, and didn't have time to wait possibly hours as a walk-in. Bullshit. read more

The staff was phenonenal! The docs were great! Amazing bedside manner. I loved the way Dr. Shayna- Hampton spoke to my son making him feel safe and comfortable to ask questions. The facility is super clean, I was very impressed. Even the bathrooms were spotless. My only complaint is that we made 6:45 online reservation that was pushed to 7:08 (Text system was awesome and let us know), however, when we arrived 10 min early for the new time, we waited for another hour before being seen. BUT this is URGENT CARE. This is to be expected. I would recommend this for any of your urgent care needs, without reservation, way better than the ER for non emergency care. read more

This review is for the business office, not the doctor. I went to Doctors on Duty because they were listed as an urgent care by my health insurance company United Healthcare. DoD treated me late at night when I was having trouble breathing and diagnosed me with a respiratory infection. Then I got the bill for $242 because they don't bill as an urgent care. The woman at the billing office even told me they just say they are an urgent care and keep later hours. I also never received any of the bills by mail or email. I would never have known unless my health insurance company hadn't sent me a rejection. This is false advertising in my opinion. read more

Unprofessional. Staff are dressed in work out clothes (leggings, etc.) It seems like the tighter the better. Staff are laughing so loud like there are no patients around them. Both my kids got sick. With flu season going crazy their pediatrician was fully booked. I was able to get them tested and seen by NP Shayna. She was so nice and warm. Even though the clinic was super busy I did not feel rushed. She Prescribed them some meds and sent us on our way. read more

I took my son to another location on Abbot Street Salinas we waited 4 hours plus the pharmacy it was a bad experience.. I asked for a specific medication from a bald md and he said fu pretty much .. so if I end up killed , injured he md bald, sob he will be the reason . cause on south main salinas ca I going hire an attorney that will investigate their unprofessional lying people. Came to get a rapid test for Covid, got here at 1:50pm was told to wait while they set up they took 1hour keep in mind they only do testing from 2pm-4pm, then a another person arrived waited 10mins before they got tested before me after waiting 1 hour!!!! , Next thing you know I let them know I was waiting for a while and haven't been helped they help me tell me I have to wait for results 20mins pass they come out to tell me im POSITIVE and don't bring the copies of the results then another 20mins pass by no copies not sure if this a medical facility or a circus because the staffs a joke. Long wait times are expected at an urgent care and this place is no exception. This clinic makes up for the wait times by attending to your needs, Santiago was my nurse at my last visit , he was attentive and courteous. The doctor whose name I cannot remember was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Would recommend this clinic but bring headphones for the long wait times. read more

Avoid Doctors on Duty and go to an ER. I waited over 3 hours for someone to see me on Sunday the 19th. I got to see a DNP. She assumed I had a DVP blood clot. She sent me home and told me to go get bloodwork done the following day and wait to get an ultrasound. She said if it clot ruptured I would know because I would not be able to breathe and would probably cough up blood. If so, go to an ER or call 911. 4 hours in they sent me home with a potentially life-threatening injury. I assume they are also going to charge for this horrible service. read more

Today I went in for a dmv physical, being kinda skeptical on how long the wait was going to be I showed up about 30 minutes before opening time. (My first time at this location). When the doors opened I was greeted by the front staff, I signed in and was called back in less then 15 minutes. The medical assistant by the name of Selene, was the one who helped me with all my vitals and vision checks etc. I must say when she was helping me I had a few questions and she was real knowledgeable and kind. I have been to other Drs offices in Salinas and Selene is definitely the best medical assistant I have encountered in my life time. After Selene helped me out with everything I needed to know I went in to wait for the family nurse, as I'm waiting 5 minutes go by and a nurse by the name of Shayna came in and greeted me. Shayna was so awesome, I had some strange questions that has to do with health and she answered every single question and gave me resources for the future. Also I had scheduled a dentist appointment real close to the time of my physical and these lovely ladies made sure I was out in time to attend. I must say nothings like great service. I have now officially found a forever health clinic. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you ladies for making my visit so awesome. read more

Im used to going to urgent care facilities and having to wait hours. Yesterday I found myself having a pretty serious allergic reaction to a bee sting and was nervous and short of breath walking into the office. I was seen within only a few minutes. Doctor Angela (I think that's her name) was friendly and calm and knew what to do. I was given a shot of steroids and immediately felt some relief. I'm so very grateful to the staff at the front desk for recognizing the need to get me in quickly. And thankful for the hospitality from Dr. Angela and the assistants. read more

I came in here to get checked out for a medical condition. I paid $30.00 co pay for a visit, I get called in to see a doctor, I got tested for something, 3 days latter I get a call back for test results, the staff member makes me pay again $30.00 co pay, I get drugs for my infection and a week latter I come back to Doctor On Duty to let the doctor know that the antibiotic did not work & again I pay for the doctor visit $30.00 co pay. My point is, if you pay your co-pay the first time, then you come to let the doctor know that the treatment did not work. You shouldn't be paying two more times for the doctor visit, its not my fault that the doctor couldn't diagnose my health problem. I just spent 3 visits & $90.00 on doctor visits. If you pay your co-pay the first time, you should be treated till its gone vs you being charged the co-pay(three times). Besides the staff just sat up front desk and they kept talking about the partying over the weekend. This location is convinience to where I live at but I just spent a lot of money & I still have symptoms to my health problem. I do not recommend this rip-off doctor visit. Used DOD on S Main as a primary care provider while dealing with workers comp. Doctors are horrible. I spoke with Dr. Tan who asked me to rate my pain and told me to compare a 10 to labor and child birth??? Of course he does not tell my employer or WC what scale he used to rate my pain. I wonder what the scale is for men? I then started seeing Dr. Gray who didnt read my chart before coming in to see me and when he asked me about my situation and I started to tell him he said he did not have time to be a therapist, nor did he believe in therapy. I never felt heard or respected and they lag for everything. Whether you have an appointment or not they will leave you waiting for hours on end. Would Not recommend this office to anyone. read more
