The wait times are horrible. The front desk are a bunch of stupid people who have to ask the manager questions every single time. There are no independent thinking skills on display here. They are disgustingly rude and don't listen to patients. The manager is always gone or late when you ask to speak to one. Just an FYI when you go into this location even if you pay in full for your services, expect to have a mystery charge a few days later for no apparent reason. If you call their billing department they will tell you the charge is valid and that the location missed it day off. If you into the location they will tell you it was missed by the back team and if you ask for a manager then they will tell you said manager is in a meeting. read more

Friend went in at 930am to see a doctor wasn't taken back until 445 pm and not seen by doctor until 600 pm.Was told it would be 2 hrs more or less. When one hears that you would think it might be an extra hour, not 8 hours. They call this patient care??? Very disappointed and mad about treatment, the staff is indifferent and doesn't even have the courtesy to be embarrassed by this, in fact when I got there to check on her they were snippy that I would question the length of time. I have always had good experiences with my doctors who are part of Salinas valley health system but someone needs to look into how these clinics are run! I would give it a zero but not able to. Also it seems to be common practice if you know someone who works here you can get bumped to front of the line. What a great way to run a business. I came in at 815 am and was told my wait was going to be 2 hours that was 5 people in front of me. I came back then I was told another hour I came back and was told 2 more hours that is 4people still in front of me. I called back and was told another 2 hours that there are 3 people still in front of me. I'm still here sitting in the office it is now 315 pm it has been 7 hours this is terrible I ah of gone to the ER it would have been faster. I was here from out of town and my son had some stomach issues and since we were visiting we decided to come here just to make sure he was ok before I had to head out. The wait wasn't too bad, we called ahead of time and the doctor did really well with him and said he was ok in the end. Compared to other visits at urgent cares, this was great! I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and concern about the unacceptable treatment at Doctors on duty located at 1212 S Main St, Salinas, CA 93901, on February, 10, 2024 specifically around 2:00 pm. Upon arriving at the center with my wife in severe pain and in urgent need of medical attention, the two females at the front desk displayed an alarming lack of compassion and professionalism. They outright refused to check my wife in, insisting that we should have had an appointment beforehand. Shockingly, they suggested we go to a nearby medical clinic across the street. Note that, the website currently does not provide an option to book appointments online. This incident raises serious questions about the commitment to patient care and the understanding of the gravity of medical emergencies by your staff. It is deeply troubling that individuals with medical certifications and an oath to help people could turn away someone clearly in distress. Adding to the frustration, they claimed that the doctor in charge couldn't take any patients, and there was no supervisor to talk with. despite being only one person waiting in the lobby when we arrived. This situation not only reflects poorly on your medical center but also undermines the trust patients place in healthcare providers during times of urgent need. Wow, what a horrible front desk staff. Upon walking in I was told we will be right with you and I was fine waiting to be helped. While waiting I was instructed by someone else to use the kiosk. While the gentleman who walked in not even 2 minutes later was helped kindly and responded to immediately with whatever he needed. I walked in with a possible fractured ankle, but that's why I need a doctor since I don't know. I was forced to stand on it and use the kiosk. I would recommend this office because when you actually have a problem, they will listen to you. When necessary, they were only perform the tests that are required. I have seen Dr. Luther and Dr. Blackstone, who are both excellent doctors. They are good listeners and have, thoroughly, read my chart. They consulted each other on my medical case/history. They are both patient with me and all inane questions. They answer my questions in a succinct and easy to understand way. I have talked to the "receptionists," Miss Elena (at S. Main St. office) and Miss Natalie (at Abbott Street office), both are extremely helpful, reliable, courteous, and polite. They make my doctors visits less like a scary nightmare, and more like somewhere I don't want to drag my heels when I need help to feel better. My 2 year old daughter was just turned away although your hours say you're open until 8, but your staff indicated that your doctors are going home and now that you're down to one, they won't see any one else unless they signed up online. Although we arrived at 5:45, are traveling and our daughter is only 2. There was zero attempt to try and prioritize patients or figure out what was wrong. Although Mayra was not rude, I'm just shocked at this practice! I am here in Salinas/Monterey county multiple times a month with my family and we will not be returning. I will also actively work hard to make sure as many people as possible hear our story and choose another urgent care. I also strongly recommend that if the only way you'll see patience is if they sign up somewhere online, that this is actually on your website!!!!! I can't find anything about signing up to be seen. I'm also shocked that when I asked to speak to someone I was told that there were no managers. As a CEO, I'm surprised that any organization would not have access to management or supervision. And that your staff wouldn't try to priotize patients based on urgency of symptoms (ahem URGENT care) care nor would they try and talk to the doctor, no attempt to problem solve. Perhaps I have been privileged in recieving positive medical care for my family--but I am just shocked that this is the way people in need are treated, without any care in the world other than a message of having a wait list and clearly wanting to go home (and as someone who works 7 days a week, I can appreciate that), but then pick a different field! Horrible customer/patient service! Would NOT RECOMMEND!!! You go and sign in, & then are told to go home, and they will call you in 4 to 5 hours! We did just that! Later on that day (a few hours later), we received a call from Doctor's On Duty to return to their office to be seen! Brought in my client, who is diagnosed with Autism/Bi-Polar and we waited in the waiting room for 45 minutes and an additional 45 minutes in the patient's room to be seen by a doctor! People with Autism have a very difficult time waiting, let alone one & a half hours (90 minutes). This is unacceptable, and we will not be back! read more

Not off to a good start, 8:00 a.m. is for walk ins only, sidewalk outside clearly posted 3' apart but when doors are open at 8:00 they allow everyone to bunch in shoulder to shoulder. Didn't realize there was a temperature check until we were seated. First group did not do temperature check as the line was too bunched up. Got signed in, it's 8:27 and 1st patient in line just got cld in. Front desk is super busy, girls are screening calls, walk ins and doing sign ins and taking insurance info - very effortlessly. My daughter needed some medical attention and we opted for an urgent care facility instead of the emergency room. After being pre-screened prior to entering we found the facility to very clean and hygienic. Everyone from the receptionist to the medical assistant to the provider were exceptionally professional, courteous and friendly. I have been to other urgent care facilities in the area and none of them can compare to the level of care and compassion that Doctors on Duty provide. I called before driving there and explained that I lived 30 minutes away. The girl I spoke with was friendly and stated yes that I can come in as a walk in for my 4 year old daughter. I got there and the front desk were so rude to me, first they ignored me and then when one of them did decide to help me she told me that they were busy and that my daughter would be put on a wait list and they would call me if they had availability! What the hell, the girl on the phone told me to come in!! After I explained I was from 30 minutes away!!!! Front desk also said that I can just come back Monday... um no.
