I arrived on a Sunday at 11am and was seen so quickly and efficiently…read more Thankful for the compassionate Dr. Hunt and Nurse Ashley who helped me as I was dehydrated and scared. We were there for about 2 and a half hours, the quickest ER visit I've EVER had. We did notice that the service slowed once they had a rush of people come in, but we beat the rush just in time and got blessed with angels to help. Hoping to never have to go back to the ER but if I do, I feel better knowing we're cared by some amazing healthcare professionals.

Tonight, I brought my mother in due to elevated blood pressure she had an EKG performed. After the test, the nurse told my mother--without first consulting with the EKG technician--that she could walk to the ER on her own. To do so, my mother was required to leave the room, walk down four - five steps, and then climb an additional five to six steep steps, without any assistance from staff. The nurse simply pointed in the direction of the ER, offering no help or concern for her condition. Like she worked at Home Depot! I stopped my mother from continuing and asked where patient care was in that moment. Despite being told I could not accompany her, I assisted my mother up the stairs myself because I did not feel it was safe for her to do so alone. Our family lost a loved one just last night to a heart attack, which made this experience especially distressing and unacceptable. This situation left me feeling angry, concerned, and deeply disappointed in the level of care and compassion shown. If it wasn't for the triage nurse I would defently have given it a 1 or 0 if I could have!

Soon after our arrival in town my boyfriend was having excruciating jaw pain. It must've been bad for him to want to see a doctor so I Yelped an urgent care. This place was open, close by and most important had good reviews. It was closing in 30 minutes tho, but if we didn't go, bf would be miserable all weekend to see these races. We walked in, place was empty lucky for us, no appointment. Couple of waivers filled out, insurance given and Doctor took us in. Dr. Gilliam is by far the kind of doctor I wish I had as my PCP. He's funny, caring, gentle and educational. After asking my bf some questions and a little exam, it was concluded he had a little infection that needed antibiotics. Dr. Gilliam took care of ALL of it, sent the scripts to Safeway right next door (we needed to get snacks anyway) filled out the claim and sent it to insurance. I mentioned I was a medical coder. He does all of his own coding using software. But if Dr. Gilliam ever wants to hire a certified outpatient coder/biller with Urgent Care experience, we could always use an excuse to relocate to Monterey (hint hint) We were treated like humans, even laughed a little bit at some funny stories. Warm, kind Doctor. I hope we'd never have to be patients again but if we're in Monterey and need an Urgent Care, we're going here. He's the way all Doctors should be.

I was taken into an exam room where the nice medical assistant took my vitals. After getting info on my symptoms and a little more about the degree of my pain, she came back and said that the PA on duty, Brian E. was turning me away because he was under the "assumption" that this was a worker's comp case. I assured her that it was not, it had nothing to do with work at all. Since I left work due to the pain, he refused to see me due to his "assumption". She said that he told her that this was becoming a regular problem at their clinic, even though this was the very first time I had ever been there. I have Blue Cross insurance so I could not understand why a patient would be turned away for being in pain. When I asked the medical assistant if I could talk to him, she went to let him know. She came back again and said she was sorry, but he did not want to see me or talk to me. I thanked her for trying but this person should not be employed by Montage. This PA has absolutely no bedside manner or professionalism and represents Montage in a horrible way. Makes me wonder how many patients get turned away...such a shame

Then last December I had been sick for a week. I was super short of breath and my O2 sat after walking to the exam room was 85% and my BP 98/60. The MA brushed it off and retook it after resting and my sat went up to 93% and BP up to 100/60. Again I told the MA this was not my baseline but she ignored me and didn't document the low reading. I was in horrendous pain in my hip and focused in that. They gave me steroids and sent me home. Next day I couldn't breathe and BP was 80/40 with irregular heart rate. I was so weak my husband called 911 and I was admitted to ICU w severe sepsis. I called to complain and got a v/m back from the manager asking me to call her back. I did and 7 months later still no response. Missing how sick I was twice is pretty egregious.

Having been involved in the behavioral healthcare system for most of my life, I've experienced a wide range of mental health professionals. Laura, however, stands in a category all of her own. She is one of the only providers I've ever worked with who genuinely, deeply cares. Her dedication shows through her actions and her consistency in going the extra mile. In my case, she even went through the process of becoming specially certified in a specific medication just so she could provide me with the treatment I needed. That level of commitment to a single patient's well-being is incredibly rare. She doesn't just treat symptoms, she advocates for your life. It is extraordinary to find a practitioner who is both a brilliant clinician and a truly compassionate human being. I couldn't recommend her enough.
