It's your standard pub grub. They have some more intriguing choices, some of which work, but most of which fall short of execution. Had pulled pork fries to start. Generic frozen fries, topped with generic pulled pork and white cheese. Not bad overall. I had The Bear, which is a 1/2 pound burger topped with an onion ring and pulled pork. The burger is a generic frozen patty, perfectly round with sharp edges right out of the freezer. The pulled pork was pretty good, but the burger was lacking in flavor. Had to ask for BBQ sauce. Pretty nice sized with the pulled pork on top, but just missed the mark. Fiance had the French Onion burger. Same deal. Cost the same as my Bear, with much less on it. Expected that for this type of burger, you would get sautéed onions...just something besides a burger with an onion ring on top. Overly meh. So basically, meh. Not the worst place, but a very average attempt at fixing what wasn't broken with Red Hill. Caters to the bar crowd...removed half of their seating for a pool table and darts area. If you're expecting anything better than average, you're best suited elsewhere. read more

I had the ham and cheese sandwich, which was all bread, little cheese and not enough ham to cover the bottom of the bun. We shared an order of French fries, which was good, not great. Was the worst experience ever! Sat outside at 5:15pm, ordered drinks and just one Cheesesteak and an order of wings. Sat for almost 2 hours waiting for food. When it finally came out, it was clear that this could have been prepared in about 2 minutes! This is obviously a management issue. Wife and I tried this place on Sunday based on recommendations. Won't go again. Food was mediocre at best and service was horrible. Ordered appetizers then meal. Waitress put both in then brought both out. Had I wanted my appetizers with my meal I would have ordered it that way. We stopped in for dinner with our kids. While some menu items are good, others were just nasty. My daughter ordered French onion soup, and it was so extremely salty that we actually had to return it. I ordered a shrimp cocktail- big mistake. The shrimp was limp, still partially frozen, and after I ate one, my hands smelled so fishy, I had to go to the bathroom to wash them. I am extremely picky about my food and service. Docs Irish Pub and Andrea did not disappoint. This is my only favorite Irish pub. And my all time favorite waitress/bartender, Andrea. Visiting friends in PA, they all insisted I must eat here. So we headed there for lunch. As soon as we walked in, a pretty lady carrying plates with a big smile on her face told us to sit anywhere. She was the only waitress/bartender I saw and I counted 18 people in the restaurant and bar. We didn't have to wait long before Andrea approached our table. I felt that if she could handle all this single-handedly, I trusted her to choose my lunch. I also ordered a dirty martini which she made to perfection! I looked around noticing everyone was getting their orders in a timely fashion, water glasses never empty and all with a big smile. We got our order and her choice for me was so delicious!!! All of us were in Irish pub heaven. At some point she must've overheard me say I was going to get another dirty martini. Just as I finished my last sip, Andrea walked by and poured me another. Docs Irish Pub has a menu to please everyone. If you are in Philadelphia, make the time to enjoy a meal here. read more

Went here for a private Christmas Party. The interior is much nicer than I remembered. It looks like they added some art to the walls too. The restaurant area was very nicely decorated for Christmas, much nicer than what I recalled from years passed. There was one server for our very large heavily imbibing group. She was friendly and did her best making her rounds to everyone. Our menu was preselected. Chafing dishes of fried cheese (yummy!), wings (mild and hot I presume) and chicken fingers & fries. Unfortunately the chafing dishes remained empty when I went up. I liked how there were some appetizers , preselected, on the tables. Shrimp cocktail, chicken quesadillas, mini cheesesteak rolls, soft pretzel bites, and later wasabi seafood bites. I heard they were good, but did not try them myself. Went there to have drinks and apps and order dinner for take-out. Worst service ever! They tried sitting us at a high top that was so tight. They sat us at another high top over by the pool tables, and was fine. Took 15-20 minutes for a waitress to come take our orders, while other waitresses stood around. Ordered a rum and coke with house rum, and got some kind of fruity pineapple drink, was fine drank some of it. Our app came out and we had no napkins or silverware. After we finished our nachos that were a little messy and pulling tissues out of my bag, we finally got plates and napkins. Too late...take out came and our check was brought over. Was charged for a captain and coke, which would obviously be more expensive than the house rum. Needless to say our experience was awful. Customer service is key and I'd get treated better at a Waffle House by a strip joint. read more

We used to go there pretty regularly but haven't gone back since a MOUSE ran through the restaurant (multiple times while we waited to pay our bill) and the staff seemed extremely unconcerned. The waitress said she has "tried to catch it a few times" herself. I wish I lived in Pennsylvania just to have some more of their delicious burgers and wings!! I definitely loved their sources of entertainment; great sports TV, pool, a transformable dance floor, darts, and few video games for the kids to enjoy :). Doc Watsons has a modern appeal which makes it all the better! The waitresses were friendly and very welcoming. Reviewing the outdoor bar. It's very nice. The atmosphere is ruined by the choice of music. It's urban pop/dance music. I'm not sure how they look at their clientele and think it's the type of music they'd enjoy. We're not teenage girls. Fix the music, or vary the style, and the place is tremendous. read more
