3 Hot Garlic Parm, 3 extreme heat. The extreme heat is EXTREME and a secret recipe

The building this place is situated in is historic and from the 18th century. Inside the vibe is very interesting and old-timey. There is a deck out back with pleasant views. The wings are high quality with over 20 sauces/ runs to choose from. The menu is rather large with things like clams, peel n eat shrimp, chicken Parm, sandwiches, etc. Seems like a good quality kitchen. Service was friendly. Would like to go back again.

Cute little Tavern. Yummy roast beer sandwiches that I forgot to take a picture of. Careful of the hot peppers. They are hot!!

This is a great little dive bar. Got my cheesesteak fix b4 11am. It was awesome. Also ordered the roast beef. Excellent. Bread from a local bakery.

After having our GPS take us a ways around we got to Union Publik House and there were regulars in there already. There's a few tables and we were greeted warmly and since we were a group of five, took the larger table in the back by the kitchen. Our server was also friendly and helpful. He recommended the burgers but said just about everything we would order would be good and he was right. My wings were big and tasty, the burger we ordered was cooked as requested, the Ceasar salad was good but the chicken add-on was a bit overdone and dry, the other salad with add-on salmon was a nice big piece of fish that was quickly eaten, and the BBQ sandwich my kid had was gone in what seemed like seconds. We started with some mozzarella sticks which were fine, the pirogies were better than fine, and the homemade chips with salsa were also quickly eaten. Drinks were canned sodas at $3 each and I also had an unsweetened ice tea for the same price. I think you'll also like UPH for your lunch or dinner. We'd come back. $125 total including tax and tip for five people.

It was more of a playful nostalgic environment rather than a place where I would eat, but for a quick strong cocktail or beer it was a fantastic hang out. There were several of us and the bar was slammed. Loved the Ms Pac-Man arcade game and the Godzilla pinball machine next to the dart board. The gender neutral bathroom was a disaster and loved it. The door had a posted sign as a warning, "One Urinal, One Toilet, One Lock". The walls and ceiling (yes ceiling) was plagued with colorful marker ink and stickers, basically graffiti. Was not sure if I was permitted to add to the decor, but I wanted too so badly. Surprisingly, the sink, urinal, and toilet was so clean that the white porcelain shined against the graffiti. The retro-inspired geometric pattern of white and black hexagons created an inviting tile floor. If you are visiting Philly, you gotta take a peek. Guaranteed this is a stop you wont soon forget.

My son, his wife and two daughters and I went for an early dinner. The service was attentive and quick! I ordered the standby I've always loved there- the wings! As delicious as I remember and oh that homemade blue cheese!! So great!! I ordered a beef sandwich that came on a toasted bun with the requested creamy horseradish sauce. It also came with au jus to dip. I think it was top round? The au jus was extremely salty and I could not use it at all- the creamy horseradish spread saved the day! It was a delicious sandwich with lots of meat. We appreciated the quick service and I really enjoyed the food. It was really good! Our server was friendly and efficient and checked up on us numerous times. Why 4 stars? Well there was no toilet paper in the ladies room- that's a big drawback. I brought it to the servers attention and it was immediately fixed. I would definitely come here more often, but I have since moved away. They feature a pasta night which sounds great! Rutt's Hut in Clifton NJ. And have had NY dogs and Chicago dogs in their respective cities...this slays them all. Of course, like pizza and wings and cheesesteaks etc, it comes down to what you're looking for in that particular genre. They nailed it here with the perfect combination of mustard onions and chili. Some places are stingy with the chili or pile on too many onions. Not Forest Inn. Perfect ratio. Maybe it is simply the care with which they are prepared? I don't know. But as a kid I would grab a chili dog from the Whitehall Mall (Allentown/Whitehall) at a place called Little Red Wagon. Just a wagon-like stand in hallway of mall. The chili dogs at Forest Inn remind me of those dogs. This spot is your classic dive bar. Typical characters you'd expect. Old school urinals. Jukebox that you can't play with your Touchtune/AMI app. Tons of Pennsylvania Skill games(more than I've ever seen at one bar) Seemed like a clean place though so no complaints. The real star of the show is the bartender/chef/manager Harry. He is on the ball! Super nice guy too. He has to serve all the patrons plus cook up all the food and keep non-patrons from using the restroom or just hanging out. He does it all with ease and is fun to talk to as well. I've been here twice already and will return for third time shortly. It's is 45 minutes from house so I can't go on a regular basis but they're so good I gotta make a trek there a few times a year.
