Mediterranean bowl
Morganne M.

Loved dinner here, can't recommend enough. We sat outside along the river and it was lovely. We saw ducks, a whole group of little baby ducklings, turtles...that alone would get me in the door! Service and food were thankfully also great. Our server was so sweet and kept apologizing for how long it would take her to return to our table even though I think it was a completely normal amount of time, so I super appreciate how attentive she was. Food was great. We got the hoagie dip which was delicious. I got the Mediterranean bowl with seared tuna and it was tasty, chickpeas especially cooked perfectly. My husband got the catfish po boy which was massive and had great flavor. Will definitely come back!

After finally checking out this cute spot on the water we are planning to come again! The food is good, it could be better. The fries are 1000% NOT worth getting. I love fries but these were a no go. Very very dry .... Disappointing. No flavor either. That goes for their regular and truffle fries. The truffle fries were not good at all. Nix the fries. The burger was really good just wish it hadn't been soo leaky. My plate was covered in a pool of juices and oil which was kind of annoying/made it harder to eat. But it was good. My fiance loved his Cuban but again also disliked his fries. The Cuban looked really good and he recommends it. We did get the infamous tuna nachos. They are really yummy - fiance was obsessed. Drinks were good. We just got draft beer nothing fancy. The ambiance was 10/10, seriously such a great spot to hangout on the water. Our server was also amazing! She was so kind and attentive. The only thing that was lacking was no refills on water. We could have asked but I believe you should not have to. Aside from really bad fries and a leaky burger we like Locke 29. Interested in coming back !

Fried green tomato on sourdough was delicious. Just make sure you ask for the sauce on the side because it was too much sauce.

This place was adorable. I love outdoor seating and they have two levels. Casual atmosphere. Date night here was romantic. The sandwiches were delicious!

Lock 29 is a Phoenixville gem. At the most basic level, they have PARKING! If you've ever visited this beautiful town, you know that parking can be a headache. Let's do a little dance for a customer parking lot. *musical break* Lock 29 offers: Great food specials An extensive cocktail list A good beer list $1 oysters on Tuesdays (!!!!) Brunch on the weekends Great service Beautiful views of the Schuylkill canal and outdoor seating If you're looking for a solid menu, good people, and tasty times, Lock 29 is a good option. They also offer space rentals for private events, which is a nice offering' I will note that there is a inside staircase to enter the main dining area, and I'm NOT sure if they have an elevator. (I can't remember ) It would be worth calling ahead and confirming accessibility if you are considering mobility limitations.

I arrived a little early before happy hour so I ordered from the main menu. The place was empty. I tried to sit outside but it was too hot. I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich with a side salad. It was very good, and reasonably priced. I was waiting for a friend that came 30 minutes later so when she arrived we ordered from HH menu. We ordered margaritas and the hummus plate. The margaritas were eh, way too sweet. But the hummus plate was fresh, crunchy, tasty and plentiful. The warm pita bread with the delicious feta, hummus, cucumbers, kalamatas, red peppers and olive oil was amazing and only cost $6.00. Definitely will come back for the hummus plate but will pass on the margaritas.

We enjoyed the Bang Bang Shrimp, fresh oysters, truffle fries, and Cobb salad. Everything was delicious! But what really impressed us was the honesty and kindness of the staff. My brother-in-law accidentally left his wallet at our table. Should be called "The Disappointing and Overpriced American Pub."…read more In retrospect, I should've taken the giant TV playing Kitchen Nightmares as an omen for what was about to come. I'm only giving this 2 stars because the French onion soup was decent and because the place was not crawling with roaches... I don't know where they get off calling this a pub.... the drinks, just as expensive as anywhere else, were gone in about 4 sips.. so fast I couldn't even take a picture of the full glass in time. The French onion soup was good- they definitely didn't skimp on the cheese! The sweet potato fries were also tasty. Now to the center of my review.. I do not like writing bad reviews. I don't want to usher in bad business when dining is so subjective - however, I cannot excuse these raviolis. Under no circumstance should any person pay $20 for SEVEN raviolis. Yes, seven raviolis. Seven small, puny, under stuffed raviolis that tasted like they could've came from a can. They didn't taste bad.. just okay.. but for $20, I think 7 raviolis (which were drenched in oil) is just utterly ridiculous ... I would not have even finished them if they weren't so ridiculously overpriced. Thats an energy that needs to be reserved for niche novelty restaurants in affluent neighborhoods of New York City. Not a so-called 'pub' in suburban PA. My mom got the vegan quesadilla, and noted that they put very little kimchi on it. I am absolutely never coming here again and I would actively dissuade any friends from going here in the future. Our total for 2 appetizers, 2 meals, and 1 drink was $70 before the tip, which I wouldn't have minded so much if the food was either in large quantities or good enough to justify the price... unfortunately, it was neither, and we walked away feeling unsatisfied and taken advantage of (figure of speech.) Overall... you're better off walking into any random Irish pub/bar honestly. But the plant based menu, which is what drew us in, was definitely cool and I love seeing more vegan options. It's also nicely decorated, the woodworking on the tables was a nice touch.

This place is too notch…read more They are phenomenal. When you are waiting for a beer I mean it seems like priority I've never seen service like this at anywhere that serves beer. Just remarkable speed and care. I had like five people ask me if I was good while I was waiting for a beer just the exact speed you want from a bar. This place is just remarkable. Also tried the food also great. The owners really care and it shows. Also comedy shows here were amazing !!!

It's a cool place that I wished I had more time to visit. What drew my interest the number of vegan options that they had on their menu. Vegan Nachos and Vegan Pizzas. There are also some handhelds as well. I was with a group of 35 at another restaurant that did not have vegan options so I called ahead, placed my order and picked it up around 6:30 pm. At that time, there was a good sized crowd inside and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I paid for my vegan pizza, and then without drawing too much attention to myself, walked into the restaurant and went to the second floor that was reserved for us. My pizza was excellent. The Vegan Blanco Vegan Mozzarella, Tofu Ricotta, Sauteed Spinach, EVOO, Garlic I haven't had pizza in about 3 months so i was definitely looking forward to it. I really enjoyed how they did the Tofu Ricotta the Vegan Mozzarella. My only critique is this - When working with vegan cheese - especially shredded, let it sit at room temperature before popping it in the oven. By doing this, you avoid the 'matchstick' look on the pizza. What happens is that the vegan cheese going from cold to hot is too extreme so it doesn't melt, or spread out - it essentially cooks / burns in place. Having worked with vegan cheese companies over the years, there is a misconception that it is bad to leave the vegan cheese outside on the countertop - not really, it's not cheese. I devoured my pizza and appreciated having a vegan option besides fries and a veggie medley.
