Our family is kinda crazy about donuts. My wife and I both grew up working in bakeries for our parents and have very specific standards for donuts. This is THE SPOT for fresh donuts done right! Their donuts are Light and airy the way raised donuts are supposed to be (not dense like cake). Maple that is like a glaze (not frosting), and fritters that are well chopped and crisp. For the coconut Angel cake ONLY. Called ahead, they agreed to hold 6 of them when I was 15 minutes out. Arrived and they sold 2 of them to someone in the drive thru. No biggy since they couldn't accept payment over the phone. But the Angel cakes were so different and so delicious. We also got a ham and cheese croissant that we asked to be warmed up, a sugar donut and a maple bar. There was practically no filling in the croissant and our maple loving kids didn't even eat half of the bar. The sugar was ¾ eaten, but all 4 Angel cakes were devoured! Man how disappointing. I liked the donuts here but today around 1150 am I went though the drive though and ended up getting yelled at. I was so confused why I was getting yelled at when I'm the customer and I was super nice to the female who was on the Mic at the drive through. I asked what kind of flavor they have for donut holes and she said tell me what kind flavor you want. I'll tell you if we have them or not. Dockside has the best freakin donuts I've ever had and while they don't get insanely wild with their selection like Cap'n Crunch flavor at voodoo, they taste 100x better and they're not over priced for something you won't finish. Dockside occupies an old Dairy Queen, right by the bus terminal, the trains and the T Dome...it's in a great location and I am gratified to see a former palace of calories replaced with something similar. These are good donuts. You will definitely get your fix here! Cheap. Friendly owners. Serviceable coffee. They take credit cards. They have a wide selection and the main thing I've noticed is how grease-less these donuts are. You will find nary a spot on the box! That says to me "fresh oil" and I suspect the reason they may be cool, as another yelper pointed out, is because they really drain these donuts before putting them out. As noted in other reviews, they carry bacon maple bars - with the bacon finely chopped to make it easier to eat than most. They also carry nice fritters and croissants, and a giant coconut creme number that is as big as a maple bar and filled to the max. A note to those looking at the finer points of donut dining: these are light and very big, like Pao's on 6th. However, the glaze on the glazed has a particular taste to it - even sweeter than usual and a slight milk flavor...perhaps more what one would taste on a buttermilk donut. Also, Pao's still wins for best crullers - Dockside's are good, but not as light. Dockside: responsible for just a couple more pounds I'll be adding this year.... read more

The Seattle metro area is nationally(perhaps internationally) known for their coffee reputation and it is only logical that good donuts would follow suit since the two go hand in hand. Dockside Donuts was another recent discovery that I made in T-town. I got a chocolate frosted donut which was delicious but what really made the experience great was the apple stuffed bear claw that I also ordered. I took it for some crappy donut place run by some hacks. Fast forward a year or two later and my girlfriend and I are out searching for monkeyshines. We're cold, hungry and ready to call it quits. I remember this place and tell her we should give it a shot. We were certainly surprised. Amazing selection, the old fashioned's were on point and the older couple were super helpful. They have ample seating area for you to enjoy your desserts and a coffee. They have locked restrooms for customers only so ask for the code if you need it.
