I really like coming here doughnuts are so good and good on prices too!! There is a difference between a krispy kreme doughnut (mass produced, low quality). If you don't carry cash like do, your order needs to be more than $3 dollars to use the plastic(credit/debit cards). I actually tried to walkin one day and all doors were locked but they were open must be drive thru only. I'm not real good at memorizing what I want and it doesn't help when there are no pictures of what the doughnut(s) look like (on the drive thru menu). read more

I live up the street from Dockside Donuts and I love this place. The customer service is the best you can get. I usually get two 16oz white chocolate mocha's with a extra shot and some donuts to go. The coffee is bomb, I would rather go here then to Starbucks. I tried the bacon maple bar for the first time and I have to say it is shiznit. I also like the ham & cheese filled croissant, I take that home heat it up in the microwave and wax. I have never had a bad Doughnut from here, they are always great and like I said you can't beat the customer service. I read some of the other reviews and thought wow, what are these people thinking. Very good donuts but old lady can be crabby at times. The daughters and dad is a much better and friendlier crew. Also 1-2 hours when they first open they have maybe half of the donuts selection out which happens to be my fav donuts that is left out which limits me from going there since i am at work by then. read more

We came across this place when we were getting out of Tacoma Dome. I wasn't thinking that the donuts would look the way they did. They looked so PRETTY & PERFECT. I wanted to try them all. But I didn't. We've been trying to find a donut shop that has croissants that were good and we finally found one after going through a handful of local donut shops. Sign says 24 hours, but don't be fooled they are not opened 24 hours! I'm giving 3 stars because if you catch them on a good day you can get a really great, fresh, delicious donut! I've also had some that have been stale and one that wasn't done all the way, it is very inconsistent. My go-to joint for the devil's holey treats is Lakewood Donuts but somehow found myself darkening Dockside's door. It was locked. A ten-minute jaunt from the bus depot, the walk back maybe burns ten calories. She motioned me to the window. After perusing the drive-up menu for what felt like a half hour went finally with a Coconut Cream Dream and a small coffee. Donut did its job, just your base glazed bar filled with cream sprinkled with coconut. The coffee left much to be desired, almost spit-worthy. Then there was the minor issue of the bill. It came out to a little under three dollars but the minimum you can charge at this joint is three, total. After a little back and forth with the Vietnamese lady where she tried to get me buy another donut which there was no way. The idea came about we finally run it for three even. I was just looking for something open past 8 and I found the best doughnut I've ever had. You won't believe me unless you try it. They were warm and crispy and so fresh... When you first drive up to this place, you won't believe it's going to be any good. It's in a rough patch of town, not much else around there, but it's a diamond in the rough for sure. I love the donuts here - the best I've had in the area. I'm not usually a donut fan, but I've gone out of my way to pick up donuts here on the way to somewhere. With a drive-thru window open 24 hours every day, it's always there when you need a decent donut. The gimmick donut is the maple bacon bar, and it's very good, using chopped real crisp bacon. The basic donuts are terrific as well, however. The dough is extremely light, fluffy, and fresh-tasting. the cream in the filled donuts is amazing; it tastes like a dense, smooth whipped cream rather than a slick, overly sweet corn-syrup fluff. The fritters are flavorful and crispy on the edges. The French crullers are puffy and eggy, as they should be. The old-fashioneds are pleasantly crusty but surprisingly light in the center; it's my favorite type of donut, and they're often dry or dense, but not here. They serve excellent coffee from local roaster Dillano's as a tasty counterpoint. The dining room is okay, but not the most comfy surroundings, although there is a nice fireplace; I expect that the proprietors will continue to improve it as time goes on. They're always helpful and friendly though, even making a donut to order when I wanted something specific. Give Dockside a try, especially when it suits your plans to pick up something to go. read more

First of all, I don't get the comments about "the snotty Asian woman"... she has always been so friendly and when my husband stops by without me she always asks him about me. And secondly the donuts are the BEST! I have always loved their glazed donuts because they are so airy and light, and also the chocolate topped custard filled ones. Dockside Donuts doesn't look like anything too special from the outside but it is a REALLY great place. My husband and I stopped by there today for some quick donuts on our way through and I loved it. The donuts we super yummy and fresh, the coffee I got (small white mocha) was great, the service was very friendly and the price was amazing. I have been a long time devoted House of Donuts customer but lately House of Donuts is old, nasty, tasteless and dirty. I found a new love...Dockside Donuts. OMG Is all I can say! Fresh, melt in your mouth goodness, delicious, and cheaper than House of Donuts too! The staff are so nice. I live in Lakewood and I will drive all the way here to get donuts, 1-2 dozen at a time. There was fuzz ALL OVER my donut. Disgusting. Coffee was terrible, burnt espresso over scalded milk. They have no clue what they're doing. Guess it doesn't matter because people who frequent this place probably aren't coffee enthusiasts. But they could at least try to make a decent latte? This is my favorite donut shop/coffee house in the area. It's a Mom n' Pop ran place and they are the most friendly people. I've brought my brother, Dad, boyfriend, best friends, etc, into their shop and they always remember them as my family and ask about them when I come in. Went there for the first time and i really could'nt understand the lady and had to keep having her repeat herself. Finally i just gave up and let her pick my donuts out. Brought donuts to work for co-workers and one of the girls grabbed the apple fritter and took a bite and there was a hair baked into the donut. I called the lady and she acted like nothing happened. I asked to talk to the supervisor and she said he works graveyard and i would have to call back then. No sorry no nothing.I would not recommend this place to anybody.Bad service read more

The service is very bad, not really friendly and you have to ask for a napkin. I've been there 3 times and have never been given a napkin at the drive thru. I decided to give it one more try itoday because my husband wanted to stop, again we had to ask for a napkin we were handed two small thinine ply napkins forr 6 Donuts. Donuts are'nt bad but $8.80 for a dozen donuts is a little extreme. Especially when that only includes cake donuts or bars. Want an apple fritter included that'll cost ya extra. Just your basic cake and bars at that cost. The exact donuts you can get at safeway for $5.99 a dozen. read more

Stopped through the drive thru on my way to work one day and was overwhelmed (in a good way) by the selection of doughnuts, they all sound so good! Decided on a sea salt caramel glazed, and my go to raspberry filled. Bummed when I ordered and the owner told me they didn't have the sea salt glaze yet, but if I had 5 minutes to spare she would have the glaze made fresh. Unfortunately for me I didn't have the time to wait so I ordered an apple fritter with my raspberry filled. Holy donut! I think I started making up a song and dance for how good my donuts were! I'm a total donut addict as is but man... Dockside has some of the best donuts I've had (besides voodoo). The filling in the raspberry was perfect, it was obviously made from real berries and I'm guessing it was homemade. The apples in the fritter tasted like real apples and they weren't mushy or stingy on the amount of apples. All in all this will fill the void of my donut obsession in times I can't get down to Portland. read more
