Great view, food, drink, and service. We ate dinner here with a view of the the lake and it was a great meal. I started with a Huckelberry Mule and it was outstanding. The clam chowder was next which was very good. Our party enjoyed 3 great dinners: Cobb Salad, baked Mac and cheese, and the Chicken Coeur D' Alene. Then for desert we shared the Huckelberry Cobbler. Dockside is a place you can take the entire family for a night out! Its fancy but not to fancy! You can come as you are and feel like you are special! I had the Seaside Baked chicken, husband had fettuccine Alfredo and my mother in law had the Southwest BBQ Salad. My daughter who is a pretty picky eater enjoyed here Mac and cheese!!! All of the Gooey desserts are amazing! We did not have one last night but have had them in the past. They surprised us with two birthday desserts thanks to my in-laws for telling our waiter that were were celebrating mine and my daughters birthday! The view and the salad bar are the best things about this restaurant. It's pretty rare these days that a salad, potato and vegetable are included in the price of your steak so it was a good value but not a good presentation. This was how my $37 ribeye steak was presented to me. Not very pretty. The potato was way over done and extremely dry so it must've been left over from the day before (we were there very early for dinner, so the potato should've been fresh, steaming and hot). The vegetables were OK but nothing special, just sautéed peppers and onions and mushy zucchini. The service was extremely slow also. Our waiter kept forgetting things so we had to ask him two or three times to get what we needed. Do not highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The server and the view were lovely. The food is extremely low quality and expensive for what you're given. Menu is very limited. Craft Mac n cheese, avocado on sandwich wasn't ripe and shouldn't have been served. Tip: don't sit next to the kitchen- anywhere near it. The view from the restaurant is fun, but the food was seriously MEH. The service was average. I don't know... I just wasn't all that impressed. I wouldn't be back. I have over 20 mild food allergies so I rarely eat out. Recently I needed to eat out and found Dockside had some food on the menu I thought I could make work so I made a reservation. The waitress and kitchen staff went above and beyond to kindly meet my needs. I try to be simple in my order choice but they still had to adjust some things. Food took awhile but the restaurant was very busy and I had a special order. Our drinks were kept full and our waitress checked on us often as we waited. And the food was generous in portion, delicious, and just as what we ordered. The salad bar was very nice. The views were awesome. And the service was excellent. This place is a steal. You get so much food for cheap. Also a great location, we went at sunset and it was gorgeous. I got a cucumber martini and it was great- told them not too sweet and it was perfect! I also got the trout and it came with a trip to the salad bar. The bar had so much stuff and huge plates. I could have just eaten that! Then my trout was HUGE and so yummy. Sauce was great! For dessert we got the Cookie Monster gooey for our toddler and it was so yummy and came with a Cookie Monster cookie that he loved! Great, casual place for a view with the family. read more

From the location to the staff to the food to the ambiance, 5 stars all around. I ordered the brunch for take out. Oh my it was a tasty feast!!! So much food. Even the pancakes, were far above average and fluffy. The Benedict was just perfect. The dessert case looked extremely tempting. I hope to sit at one of the table overlooking the water next time. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks, my favorite crab melt was shrunken to half the size and way too salty, and it took forever to get our bill. My son and I visited today for 9 am breakfast. He ordered the Skillet that was mainly cheese hash-browns and reminded him of "sage dried out on a cotton swab". And I the crab cake and salmon lox on a bagel. Not sure why but the bagel took the longest but came out in the middle to end of our meal. My 2 crab cakes were the size of a silver dollars drenched in an unrecognizable vinegar tasting yellow sauce, and was 99% sausage.. Jimmy Dean is better..These little pork sliders were accompanied with about a 1/4 Cup of cold hash brown. The total was $69.86. Undoubtedly the worst 70 dollars Ive ever spent in my entirely life other than the time I brought a home made sock monkey from and carnival worker... My wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was incredible and the view spectacular. Our server, John was amazing. I went to the Dockside of the Moon last night! I just had to say that....haha. Okay, I was hoping for an amazing experience but overall was underwhelmed. Location is great, you can either valet park or self park in the garage right next to the resort (Dockside is located in the Coeur d'Alene Resort. It is an easy walk to the restaurant from the parking structure elevator which drops right into the lobby. The restaurant itself is nice with window view overlooking the water (how else does it get its name, right?!?). I was like an hour late but called to move it but somehow the message got lost. no worries, the host/hostess were very accommodating in finding me a table so all good. The food? well this is where it was a bit underwhelming. Thought I'd get their prime rib special (I'm a sucker for prime rib). Caesar salad with shrimp, clam chowder, veggies, baked potato. Clam chowder **** decent. not the best but still great to eat. Caesar salad with shrimp. **. a bit disappointing since the salad seemed a bit soggy and the shrimp were disappointedly cool, not grilled but simply seemingly thawed cocktail shrimp. A minute or two on the grill would have gone a long way in my book. Prime Rib ** also disappointing mainly since it was TOUGH. The tender edge was fine but the meaty part was too tough to cut, ie. you cut and your plate starts shaking around tough. Not good. Oh well. so much for that. Seemed to need more spice, salt pepper, something but at least the horseradish and au jus helped. But good let alone great prime rib actually does not need either! Veggies were flavorful even if a bit limp. *** Baked potato was good. **** If I go there again, I'll have to order something different or maybe try the other restaurant at the resort like Beverly's or The Cedar's Floating Restaurant. read more

After waiting 30 minutes for a table, we waited another 18 minutes to be acknowledged by a server (and that was after my husband asked for one). Once we were finally greeted, he mumbled that he'd get us water. We watched tables around us be seated and promptly greeted, but our server was nowhere to be found. The turkey sandwiches two of us got were good, but the burgers two others got were over cooked and we waited five minutes for dipping sauce for our fries. Food was so so. My Denver omelette was relatively dry but one corner oddly leaked oil. It would have been better if cooked evenly. Another in the group specifically ordered item requested without bacon. After the third attempt of being served bacon in her bowl she gave up and ate around it. Not good for a vegetarian. Others in the party had better experience. Given the location & price it is now a tourist trap. Locals that used to enjoy it are moving on to other options. It's a fun place with a great history. Dockside deserves a 5/5 just for their famous desserts, Gooeys. The food in general is good, though a bit overpriced, but the desserts are out of this world, huge, and affordable. One regular sized Gooey is plenty for 2-3 people and you will not leave dissatisfied. I've tried several different flavors and each one has been perfect and I've taken several people to try them and they have always been as impressed. Do yourself a favor and grab a table looking out over the lake and indulge in one of these amazing treats! read more

Decent food and great views. I was expecting a knockout meal by the looks of the menu and because it is a resort. My steak was slightly over cooked and my husband's salmon caked in salt. I had the Ribeye & Prawns and he had the Ribeye & Salmon. For over $30 a plate I expect my meat cooked properly (medium rare) and nothing to be over-salted. My daughter had the kids cheeseburger meal. It was pretty good to her but appeared average. The salad bar is a good option with the meals though. Service was friendly. The restaurant is quite stylish, clean and fresh. The staff is efficient and very friendly. The food was delicious. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Cobb Salad. The chicken was tender and hot, the greens cold and crisp. My mother ordered a bowl of the clam chowder and the salad bar. The salad bar presentation was very clean and inviting, the food fresh with a vast variety of options. It's amazing dining in CDA ID! Appetizer was meh...not bad, but average. Salmon main course was a delight! So moist (I know...people take issue with that word) yummy and super flavorful! Service was on par, frequent visits to our table to ensure we were enjoying our meal and paid attention to drink refills.
