My husband is a connoisseur of burgers and shakes, so this was a must try. On the shake front, we got a huckleberry and I think the ratio of fruit to ice cream was off, because it ended up tasting more like a smoothie. It was still super yummy, just not quite the texture we were looking for. The burgers were on the smaller end, though surprisingly my patty and my bacon were the same width, which was saying something! I've never had so much bacon on a burger (totally not complaining). It did take awhile to get our food. The best part of the whole lunch was definitely the shoestring fries. They were really crispy and really well seasoned. My husband normally doesn't like shoestring fries but he really enjoyed these. Overall, a good burger place! read more

Came here for the gooeys and they were (almost) too adorable to eat! Got the unicorn one and cookie monster. I preferred the unicorn one since I felt the cookie monster was a little too chocolatey for me. Get the personal size ones- the regular ones are HUGE! Definitely something that is meant to be shared and it was super fun for the kids :). The view from this location is also so pretty here too! The restaurant is located in the CDA hotel. read more

HOW CAN YOU ENJOY YOUR FOOD WHEN THE SEATS ARE UNCOMFORTABLE? Like another reviewer stated, the food and service were good (not excellent) relative to the venue and pricing. But, what caused us a problem was the internal structure of the booths. I couldn't get close to the table to eat the clam chowder (which was the one thing that was excellent) because the seats in the booth tip downwards towards the back. I'm sure that there is a precise height range of people that they are perfect for, but not for either my 5' self or my 6' husband. I finally sat sideways so I could get my right foot on the floor to keep me from leaning back. The reason that there are 4 stars was that I noticed a young busser who appears to be on the Aspergers spectrum. He was oh, so precise in stacking the dishes, but fit in with the atmosphere very well. The sad thing was that one of the servers was rather short with him. But, BRAVO to Dockside for hiring him. Great views of Lake Coeur d'Alene! Our friends brought us here for dessert on a beautiful fall weekend. They have a convenient parking garage that Dockside validates for - a great perk! We came by around 3 in the afternoon and they told us there would be a 20 min wait. After perusing the nearby shops and fish tank our turn was up. We were seated at a lovely booth at the back by the windows and they were able to lower the window shade so we weren't blinded by the light. Our server was nice but a bit oblivious. We all ordered desserts - a make your own cupcake for the kiddo in our party, a Reese's peanut butter cup gooey, a pb cake pop, and a huckleberry sorbet. Everyone else's dessert looked delectable but the huckleberry sorbet was put down on the table already half melted away. We didn't want to cause a problem and just ate the part that wasn't melted and called it a day. Our server didn't come back to check on us and it wasn't worth it to get up and carry the big gauntlet up to the front of the restaurant to complain about it. So this is the third visit since our first on 5/27. On 6/16 I brought my team from work for an appreciation lunch. There was 6 people and we all had a great time. I ordered the Baked Seaside Chicken which was amazing and came with the wonderful salad bar. 3 of our group had the Crab Melt and even though the picture clearly shows it is an open face sandwich they all seemed surprised but really liked it overall. The other 2 people had the seared Ahi and this also came with the salad bar. They really liked both, I did notice that neither one ate the rice. For 6 I was pleasantly surprised how reasonable the check was. Today my husband and I went for lunch after driving to Wallace, Id for a Silver mine tour. My husband had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and I had 10 oz sirloin, both came with the great salad bar. Great. Both visits the staff was great from the hostess to our wait staff. Cookie Monster Gooey Going here is a great time. The view is wonderful. We will be trying the brunch and dinner menu soon. SOOOO worth the drive from Chattaroy, WA. Amazing food and ambience!! They take reservations and also have a few seats for walk-in customers. I think they only take reservations for the seats next to the water view. Unfortunately we didn't get a reservation but got a decent seat right away when we walked in around 3 pm. The gold cheese bake dip is out of this world and something our server recommended. We also had the cookie dough gooey which was so huge, perfect for a family of 4 to share icecream but my husband enjoyed it all by himself! Ofcourse he regretted the 10k calories an hour later lol. Worst fish-n-chips of my life. Clear that it's low quality fish, as it's solidly attached to the spine in a big clump. Inedible. Dinner-mate ordered the fish tacos. Possibly even worse. Went here on New Year's day, really hungover and hungry. Service: Was doing nice at first, even though in the end its getting really hard to call them because they tend to walk through without paying attention to the other tables. They also rub me the wrong way by asking if I was "being a nice girl" by not getting the dessert. Like, uhmmm, am I not nice if I eat dessert? But maybe its just the way people joke around here, I don't know? Food: good varieties, less quality. I love, love, love all their varieties. Honey glazed pork, oysters, paella, omelette, a lot of varieties of bacon, potatoes, and french toast. They even have eggs Benedict too! Not to mention their desserts... LOTS, LOTS of them! They have crepes, (lots of) cakes, eclairs, french toasts, and many more. Ambience: I love the view. They put us on the table facing the dock area and I love how it has good view while sitting at a comfortable seat. I could stay there longer but we have to get going.. Price: For a buffet meal in a resort, I would say it is actually quite reasonable price especially with all the varieties of food they offered. Since our son's family live in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho now, my husband and I are usually dining out at different restaurants when we visit them. Last week, someone suggested Dockside. Cannot believe my son has lived here 3 years already yet we only discovered this place now! My husband said it reminded him a little bit of Hawaii. He also said it's his FAVORITE restaurant in CDL now! Our server was Emily who was very accommodating. My husband had clam chowder (which he LOVED!) and salmon while I had the tasty shrimp scampi dish! My son and grandson had their usual chicken tenders. Anyway, we love this restaurant and cannot wait to try more delicious meals there. Even though we live in another state, we visit my son and the grandchildren twice a year now. Oh boy, I'm glad that when you are on vacation calories don't count. My family who is local demanded they take me to get a "Gooey", and on one hand I am so glad they did, and on the other the added poundage I gained is pissed. These desserts were amazing. We trustingly walked in to this place because it is located in the expensive resort. What a big mistake!! We ordered the grilled halibut tacos, New England styled clam chowder, and their deep dish Huckleberry cobbler. The tacos were down right bad, the fish did not have any grilled marks nor flavors, the taco shells tasted low quality. The chowder was nothing close to New England style, and I am 90 percent sure it came out of a can. The cobbler was huge in size, but the ingredients were low quality as well. To sum up, we had the worst meal here during our 4th of July trip. The food here is worst than any generic American chain restaurant. It is a shame that a expensive resort is comfortable serving this low quality of food to their customers. read more

Dockside is a great family friendly restaurant. Albeit, it is overpriced and the food is a bit underwhelming. The view is this restaurant's saving grace. We had great service today and our food and drinks were out to us quickly. The salad bar was great A lot of younger employees here- which is fine, this is a vacation area with a lot of staff here for seasonal jobs. The floors/tables/windows could really use touch up cleanings throughout the day as visitors come in. I'd recommend Dockside families looking for a comfortable lunch or dinner stop. They have a wonderful dessert menu and that seems to be their biggest hit. I don't think we would come here again- lots of other spots to try in CDA that might have more tasteful options for the price point. read more

Madison (bless her soul she's an angel and was so kind snd helpful) served us our personal sized gooey that came recommended from friends who grew up in the area. I will say they need to up their coffee game.. it tasted bitter and the waitress refused to bring cream for 2 people said one was enough for the whole table (it wasn't) and I also wasn't given a spoon. Four of us visited Dockside last night for dinner. The reason was because they brought the prime rib. The serving was 10 ounces. That is a small cut and so we asked for a larger portion. We were willing to pay extra. The chef told our server that he said no. So we ordered the ribeye steaks. The steaks were very thin and ordering medium rare ended up being medium. The salad bar was great. Our server and the bartender were great. For my wife's birthday we were going to make reservations at Dockside. We changed our mind because of the drop in quality and the chef's attitude. I'm not sure if we will be back anytime soon. I'm a retired restaurant owner, chef and consultant. Yesterday after a long drive we asked a friend where she would go for a good salad separate from salad bar and she suggested Dockside Restaurant in Coeur d Alene as she had never had bad food but had not been there for a year! The salad. I had chosen was the Strawberry blueberry nut salad with chicken! Boy was I enormously saddened by the brown 2 day old Lettuce, the 1/4 tsp of nuts, no strawberries and tiniest blueberries I've ever seen! To charge $20 for this salad was highway robbery! Now reading further today remarks the Dockside is gouging the public and living on old good reviews while their rating went down again to 3.5. My salad I left as I could not find fresh lettuce. It was nothing it looked like on menu! However I did eat the tiny 5 thin slices of chicken that cost extra with the salad! I was robbed of a good salad that no longer exists at Dockside! Expectations weee not met! They are relying totally on Ambiance and sooner than later their overcharged poor food is going to plunge their rating again. It did NOT even a 2 rate in my book! I've been coming to the CDA Resort since 1988. Have visited here at least one or twice a year. Something has changed at it is not for the better. Service at Dockside is non-existent. Tried to order biscuits and gravy but they ran out. Seriously? You ran out of biscuits and gravy the week before Christmas? Currently sitting in Dockside at 10am. Took us 30 minutes to get a table and 20 minutes before we saw our server. Restaurant is 70% empty. Arrival last night was crazy. The porters were missing and there was just chaos at the front door. I hope whatever has changed gets fixed and fast or Coeur deAlene is going to lose its crown jewel. read more

We really enjoyed our latest visit to Dockside last Friday. We came in for a quick appetizer and a cocktail/mocktail. and had a great experience. Our spicy chicken wings were delicious and I loved my berry smash...although I may have the name on that wrong. It was a yummy mocktail with berries, lemon and mint. The service was excellent. Quincie and Delaney were both super friendly, and made sure that we had everything we needed right away. They were the perfect team! read more

Went for my Mother in Laws birthday and we all ordered a steak. The steak was 45$ and probably the worst steak I've had from a restaurant. The green beans that came with it were ice cold and mashed potatoes seemed like instant potatoes. The salad bar was good but if you're talking about a salad being the best part of you meal you can guess how the rest was. We come here strictly for the GOOEYS! Haha. I haven't tried their food but I can assure you their Gooeys are divine. So far I've tried the Cookie Monster Gooey, the strawberry cheesecake gooey and the butterfinger gooey! All are super good! It just depends what flavor you're in the mood for! Don't get scared by the giant size! They offer a personal size as well haha. The giant one is good if you're planning to share, I just never share my desserts. read more

Great food- upscale but not stuffy. Went twice for birthdays, was in a large group and they were very accommodating. They were out of mashed potatoes one day which bummed me out but they offered a replacement. Really bummed. We were looking forward to this dinner. Two of us had the Salmon Oscar, over cooked and cold. The crab as in low attendance, two small pieces. If I am going to have meal with Bearnaise Sauce I want that creamy herb taste, not bland sit on your tongue and be sad taste. Plus you want more then a teaspoon. Vegetables had potential, but were cold. My husband, a Mac and Cheese lover, was very disappointed in the Mac and Cheese, I tasted, the was being kind. We went through the salad bar. Mediocre.
