Ok here's the thing. I started going here right after Thanksgiving and managed to stay motivated…read morethrough the new year - due in large part to my awesome coach Mel and the lovely ladies of the 530 AM class! That's right - 530 AM! Believe it or not, it is NOT the earliest class - that honor goes to the 445 AM boot camp - but it's a great way to start off your day. Egan's is all about contributing to your success. There are supplements, protein snacks and drinks, and a bit of gear for sale. Parking is right on the premises at $1/hour. And there is ALWAYS parking! Everyone who works the desk greets you every time you walk in, and my coach requires a once-weekly weigh in. If you aren't trending toward your goal, she (or he) reaches out to you to talk about your variables and how you can change your trajectory. Several times a year there are also challenges to mix things up a bit. These guys are as invested as you are! Coaches are always available to you. And a weigh in isn't just a weigh in - it's a really cool overall body analysis that shows you how much water is in your system (and consequently, how much more you could have), how much of your weight is fat and how much is muscle. I know! Cool - AND it holds you accountable. The gym has an app that allows you to manage your payments and reserve a spot for classes. Membership is unlimited all access - you can go to any location at any time and take any class, multiple times a day. Yeah, people go multiple times a day! Classes are fun, but they are HIIT classes, so you do to until exhaustion. But like all fun and challenging things, you can't wait to do it again. Classes also seem to switch the instructors up as well as the workouts, so don't be concerned that you'll get bored because you won't! Even more awesome, during this COVID-19 time the gym has closed but instructors are offering any number of online classes via FB Live and Zoom so you can keep on keeping on! And they are just committed and motivating online as they were in person. I always thought I could just work out on my own and be fine. I liked doing that too. But classes appear to be something I really respond to. I like the accountability and the energy of having others participating with you. I honest to God thought I was going to pass out at my first workout. I quickly realized I was horribly dehydrated and underestimated the effects of a pre-workout protein bar and it never happened again. Egan's help you develop a real body awareness and focus, and helps you renew your commitment to your own success. If you're wondering whether you can make it through a workout, well, you're just going to have to try it. And I highly recommend that you do. You may just surprise yourself!

I love this class as the teachers motivate you in a positive way and it's great because they have accountability to keep you motivated in attending class and being interactive with your health goals. I started to feel a big difference within the first two weeks of attending and the classes run Monday, Wednesday & Friday. I had more energy. I could feel more muscle mass and even though the class is only half an hour you get an intense work workout not only cardio but muscle building. Before I started, I was in the worst shape of my life, always getting sick and feeling fatigue most of the time . After being there for about a month, I can say I have a new outlook on life and truly appreciate what they have done for me.

Right away, I felt super comfortable with my flexologist and walked away refreshed. They were also promoting a 50-minute introductory one-on-one stretch for a discounted price of $59 at their studio. I figured, why not? Parking is located at Ward and it's about a 5 minute walk to the studio. The location itself is spacious, nice, and clean. The stretching area is open, so you'll be around others while having your session. You'll also need grip socks during your session. If you don't have any, they sell them there. For the intro session, the socks are included, which is a nice touch. They start by asking about any problem areas, injuries, or places you would like extra attention. For the introductory one-on-one session, they run an assessment scan to check your mobility, posture, activation, and symmetry, which helps them customize your session. For my appointment, I had Joshua as my flexologist and he was amazing. Very friendly, professional, super attentive, and easy to talk to. It honestly felt like I known him for years. He made the whole experience very comfortable and enjoyable. The only downside for me is the price. Memberships start at $219 per month for 4 25-minute one-on-one sessions with a 3-month commitment. Non-member pricing is $65 for a 25-minute one-on-one session or $125 for a 50-minute one-on-one session. They also offer non-membership packages starting at $179 for 3 25-minute sessions and you'll need to use it within a certain period. While it is still a little out of my price range, I can definitely see the value. I really did enjoy my experience at StretchLab and left feeling great. If your budget allows, I highly recommend giving it a try. And if you can, book with Joshua! He made the experience awesome!

Really nice equipment as well and I'm grateful they have everyone wipe everything down in between sets, very clean! If it's your first experience in a group fitness class, do not be afraid to ask questions and get to understand the machines! Music is fun but sometimes tricky to hear the coaches well enough to understand exactly what to do especially if it's your first time. BUT if that's the case, just smile and work hard -- even if it's not exactly what they say to do you'll still get a great workout in :) TIPS & TRICKS: * They do offer cheaper validated parking but if you're willing to get a walking warm up in before your class, just park at the Kakaako Waterfront Park! * Tons of awesome spots around SALT too, so get some post workout snacks after. * Ask about different membership opportunities, they have a lot of options might fit your lifestyle better (monthly passes, special week passes, or punch passes) * Last but not least, HAVE FUN AND GET YOUR SWEAT ON!

I originally discovered The Bar Method back in 2017. Barre is deceptively challenging, and I was quickly humbled by the workout. I remember grabbing heavy hand weights when I first walked into the barre studio, since I was accustomed to throwing around a lot of weight in CrossFit...and then wasn't even able to make it through warm up! Since that day, I religiously attended barre four times per week, and it became my sanity amidst the chaos of being a business owner, mom, boss, wife, etc. When I found out I was pregnant with my second child, the instructors were supportive, initially maintaining confidence while privately demonstrating modifications. I was blessed with an easy pregnancy, and I attribute a large part of that to barre keeping me disciplined and strong. I continued taking classes throughout my entire pregnancy until my daughter decided to make a quick entrance into the world...and I gave birth in the car on our way to the hospital! I again think the mental toughness that comes from getting through your third set of thigh work helped me through that amazing delivery. I'd highly encourage everyone to check out The Bar Method! It's a safe yet tough workout that really does help you stay healthy - both physically and mentally.
