The best thing I got from only 1 session was knowledge of how to actively engage my transverse abdominis! I had to be taught how to truly breath from my diaphragm to support and mobilize my thoracic spine, which would take pressure of joints and muscles that have been working incorrectly. From beach clean up days, taro patch cleaning, Breast Cancer Healthy Strides walk. to supporting Hawaii Food Bank, the business continues to give back to the community. If you haven't tried Pilates, the exercises are low impact, and the difficulty can be adjusted. I was somewhat hesitant, but since she was a woman much younger than myself I believed we could relate better than a male trainer. I know that Marisa is becoming an expert at helping the aging set seniors -that would be me recently losing my husband I decided I had to start working on my mental health as well as my physical in my younger days. I was an athlete but as four children and three husbands I tended to put on a lot of weight when I first met Marisa she explained her history of working with the elderly and I was put at ease knowing that somebody knew more about my body than a regular trainer. I would like to say I have completed the program. It was tough, but I lost 10 pounds and my body is totally different and back to the athlete I used to be don't get me wrong, it didn't help my wrinkles or all my loose skin. That takes time the way Marisa explained things to me about exercising and visiting the gym. I had never heard before. I have been to Jim's and got no results but in three months the results that have shown on my body is amazing and I feel so much better. I'm happier. I walked 3 to 5 miles a day now and I'm getting more tone each day Marisa's knowledge of training is unprecedented, especially for the older people. She took the time to really help me understand the meaning of exercise before I joined the gym. I met a gentleman and I complimented him on his physique. He was an older man like me and he commented the Jim is waiting, but I was scared. Marisa took these fears and threw them right out the window. She was honest, sincere, and extremely professional so I'm gonna tell all you Seniors out there, if you keep sitting on your butt not only is it gonna get bigger but it's putting 1 foot in the grave. FTH offer a judgment-free setting where you can feel safe and effectively work toward improving your health and mobility.  I've been training with George for almost 5 years (-2 Covid years ) now, and I believe he is one of the most experienced & committed trainers in town. I started training once a week, as part of a semi private session, i really enjoyed the variety & challenge he put into the sessions and then he took me on for one-on-one training as I gained more confidence using the equipment. I extended my membership to work out during after business hours. As a business professional, the only time I might get a chance to get in a workout would be during, midday or late evening where most gyms would be overcrowded. I occasionally get the whole gym to myself. Another bonus would be free ample parking . I like that the gym offers a clean private men's and women's showers. George is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (& somehow fun). My fitness has increased noticeably and I've seen improvements in my aerobic health. I'm not feeling so tired by the end of my work day which give me opportunities to take on more changes. George's core training experience will take your body/ posture to a whole new level. No more bad posture or chronic back pain for me. I find I actually look forward to my training sessions especially now in their new Smart Gym. Importantly: - He ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries. - He is extremely reliable & punctual - always set up & ready to start training ahead of time, with an exercise routine planned. He's never tired and his energy is through the roof. I also thoroughly enjoy working out on Saturday's, it's not like your old school boot camps, it allows me to sleep in a little because the class starts when I get there... Saturday's battle zone circuit is a science based, full body 39 minute circuit training circuit that everyone can do, under the guidance of two pros. Frank was very patient explaining everything very clearly so that I'll be successful in the group classes. I found Frank very knowledgeable and attentive to how to strengthen the different muscles, build stamina and avoid injuries. He helped build my independence by briefly explaining what each exercise is doing and teaching me how to adjust the rings on the Pilates Reformer, move the equipment and how to care for them.
