I passed the pilot test !!

Was expecting the usual headache, but when I stopped in at 10:30 on a Monday to take my pilot car test, I was helped in a timely manner at the front, had only a brief wait while I filled out my application before being called to a service window, and was directed to the testing booth by the same friendly rep. After passing the test on this, my 1st attempt (brag), my certification was quickly processed and my temporary paperwork complete. I am leaving this DMV experience with a spring in my step, wearing a smile.

Racist & Rude!!!! Due to COVID-19 before you can enter the building someone stands outside the door to confirm your appointment. When I got to the front desk I was treated like a criminal & the old heifer with grey hair didn't believe I scheduled an appointment because it wasn't in the computer system. Mind you the confirmation was in my emails and she still sent me away. She was being smart with me as she handed my papers back! I've been trying to get my Virginia drivers license here 2 times before and they always say there's a problem with my papers. I think it's really due to my religion and wearing hijab that I always have bad experiences here.

terrible customer service, they claim you don't have the right documents when in reality you do. Worst dmv experience

I was about to settle in for a little wait but was called up for my service a couple minutes before the appointment time. The whole thing took about 10-15 minutes including the vision test and picture. They even helped me with another thing I didn't have an appointment for. It probably helped that I had an appointment and it probably helped that it was a Tuesday afternoon. The place was not very busy. But it was a smooth and easy experience just as you would hope for but maybe not expect. I made a point of leaving the review because I saw all the negatives before I went and it really was good. People who have bad experiences are more likely to leave a review - that's just how it is - so I wanted to add my experience for balance.

I told the guy at the information desk that I had made an afternoon appointment to get my mother a replacement Real ID card and that we were there earlier this year. He directed me to stand in a long line. I stood in line, while my mother sat down. When my turn finally came, and I told the woman at the window, we had an appointment to get a replacement Real ID card, she said I had been directed to the wrong line. Although the lady had returned to the information desk, I wasn't about to stand in another long line again. Maybe the woman at window 1 was a supervisor because she advised the woman at window 2, to complete my transaction. We should have completed everything and out of the DMV within 30 minutes or less. We were unnecessarily at the DMV for two and a half hours! This message is to the managers: everyone should know their job but its especially necessary that the person at the information desk, knows their job. They should direct customers to the correct lines and provide the correct information. Employees should be cross trained and training should be on going. Everyone is a customer and everyone's time is valuable.

I had a very frustrating experience at this DMV location and feel the situation could have been…read moreresolved much earlier if staff had simply taken the time to listen. Months ago I came to this same DMV location to update my address. At that time, a staff member told me that my vehicle registration address could not be updated until my driver's license address was updated. I followed those instructions and later renewed my vehicle registration online. However, my new registration and decals never arrived in the mail. When I came back to the DMV to investigate the issue, a teller initially tried to charge me a replacement fee without actually looking into the underlying problem. After explaining the situation and speaking with a manager, I was told the issue was my fault for not updating my address, even though I had previously tried to resolve this at the same location and followed the instructions given to me by staff. After waiting a significant amount of time and explaining the situation multiple times, another teller finally looked deeper into the system and discovered that two separate DMV customer accounts had been created for me. My driver's license record and my vehicle registration were attached to different profiles, which caused my address update not to apply correctly and likely contributed to the registration not being sent to the correct place. Because of this, I had to spend a long time waiting at the DMV while the issue was investigated and corrected, time that could have been avoided if someone had simply taken the time to listen and check the system earlier. I do appreciate the teller who ultimately identified the duplicate account issue and helped correct it. However, the overall experience was unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming due to poor communication and lack of initial investigation. I hope this feedback helps improve the process so future customers do not have to spend hours resolving an issue that could have been prevented. The woman who made this most difficult was sitting at window number six with long dark hair either Spanish/Indian it is around 2:11 PM on3/11/26. She did not care to hear anything regarding and was very rude/nasty attitude.
