It wasn't my fault that I didn't receive the refund when I took the time to get it on 03/29. I probably should have expected this. How a business that uses cash and has transactions that require a supervisor override can think they can function without either is beyond me. I went to the post office on March 29 to close my PO Box and receive a refund. They took my key and told me they had no cash and that they would have to give me a money order. BUT, that requires a supervisor override and a supervisor was not on duty. So they had me fill out a form for where to send my refund. Two weeks later I haven't received my refund of $55 and I doubt my box was ever closed. So in a few months I will likely receive a renewal fee bill and will be expected to pay for a key I have already surrendered. Do I think this will ever be resolved? Absolutely not. Even if I had the time to waste going back and waiting in line, I have a sneaking suspicion that they still wouldn't be able to help me. Richard and Shiela...I miss you!

I get to the counter and tried to show the tracking information on my phone for a package that was delivered. She refused to look at my phone, like a vampire refusing to get close to garlic. She demanded that I write down the tracking number "as big as possible" so that she can see it. But thankfully, before I started writing, she found my package. But I couldn't let her get away with her rudeness, so we got into it. She tried to use her position to justify her bad behavior, saying "I'm the post master here." So I said, "That's great. We all have jobs. You're doing your job now." My point was for her to do her job and do it well without the attitude that I/we owe her something.

I was surprised that this post office is larger than most with a community of this small size. There's a decent sized parking lot, the interior could definitely use a facelift! It definitely has a musty, old odor! They offer passport service here, again, unusual for a quaint town like this. I hope you're not in a hurry to get your passport either, not all staff is trained for this service. If you make an appointment, you'll have better luck! The hours are 8:30-1, 2-5 M-F, and 9:30-12:00 on Saturday. Expect mediocre service, long waits and blasé personalities. The folks here aren't crazy about their jobs. Nothing to "write home about."
