As I entered into this nail place I wanted to get a full set . And as soon as I walked in she asked me what can she help me with and I told her . Then she goes on to say WE are not available. Well don't you think the sign should say closed if they were not available. I felt like the lady was being bias. It wasn't like she said it will be a while or can you come back. This was my first time visiting DK Nails, there were four technicians working and they didn't seem too busy on this particular day. They have a great variety of nail colors to choose from and gel colors as well. I chose kiss me I'm Brazilian (pink). They sat me at a pedi spa within 10 min of arrival, but the water was so hot I couldn't keep my feet submerged. I asked a technician directly in front of me to make the water cooler and she didn't seem to understand that one of the manicurist came and adjusted the temp. I sat with my feet in the blue pepperminty water for 30 minutes and until the chair massage ended. My pedicure started about 5 minutes later. Just before it started, I was asked if I'd like something to drink and I noticed the other clients had bottled waters or wine. I declined, as I had already been waiting about 45 min since I'd arrived and already had to use the facility. My technician was and older lady and very gentle. I feel like she was rushing (even though no one else was waiting for mani/pedis), for instance, she scrapped one foot w the grater, but not the other one. I chose the DK Special pedi for $35 which included a purple scrub which smelled like men's cologne, a cooling blue gel, and thick tan cream. The cream wasn't rubbed all the way in, but topped with hot towels which I found odd. The overall massage was very light and hardly at all on my feet. No joke - the lady next to me whose pedicure started before mine was still getting her feet massaged and I was already getting color! I loved the color, but the overall experience left my unimpressed. I will not be coming back. read more

Never going back. my nail tech was rude, very aggressive with the way she pulled my hands, cut cuticles too short even though I told her it hurt, and shoved my hands back at me. I was left seated for a very long time next to a little girl (empoyee's daughter) who was playing games on her tablet at top volume the whole time. It was the opposite of relaxing, and actually gave me a headache. Also, I was never offered a drink like every other customer in the shop. My nails came out terrible. There was a huge gap in shellac polish next to every cuticle. They looked like they had 2 weeks' growth on them. The owner fixed my nails the next day, which I appreciated. Another hour of sitting next to little girl on extra loud tablet...even though there was only 1 other customer present and many other chairs I could have been seated at. It was a very negative experience from start to finish. read more

It started off as a nice experience but then I felt like they were rushing me because they had appointments coming in.

Grr... So, everything from my first review stands - that was my experience and it was a good experience. But my Shellac lasted only 1 week. I had three chipped nails by the following Friday, which was 6 days later. By the end of my weekend, the tips of each nail were pulling away from the Shellac and snagging on everything. They looked good, the experience while there was good, the salon is pretty and clean and I really like Christine. I recommended them to a friend of mine who lives nearby and she got a pedicure there and enjoyed it, looked great. But if I'm going to do Shellac again, I'll have to try elsewhere. read more

I like this place. Mimi, the owner, is sweet and soft spoken. Great nail tech, super speedy. Her mom is very detail oriented and truly concerned about the health of your nails. I love the beauty of gel but I've also seen how destructive they can be. She takes care to minimize scraping and sanding. And my nails don't look overly thick, they look natural. Big fan of the new DK in the new Brodie Park plaza/shopping center. Salon is clean and never busy, staff is friendly. My recent pedicure lasted forever! They have a few different "menu" items for pedis so you can choose services/how much you want to spend. Just went back today for a just a polish change, and at $10 it was a bit steeper than most, but when the lady busted out the mini brush with nail polish remover, I was hooked (I love when they do that). At other spots I've had techs get a bit grumpy and sloppy when it's just a polish change, but she took her time, and it looks like I got a full on pedicure. There is another salon within walking distance of my work (by the Goodwill), but now I'll hop in the car for a minute to get to DK - totally worth it. read more

DK is clean, convenient, and fairly priced. Plus, all the ladies are so nice. I get straight mani pedis when I can find the time and I'm always out in 75-90 minutes. If they're not too busy they do a simultaneous mani/pedi so you're finished in half the time. It would be nice if they changed up the music selection, but other than that no complaints. read more

I hate to give such a bad review but I'm in a great deal of pain and I don't want anyone else to suffer. The lady who did my manicure cut my cuticle too short on 3 nails, resulting in slight bleeding. Then the lady who did my pedicure cut my toe. It didn't hurt bad at first but she was freaked about it bleeding. Today my toe hurts so bad I can't wear my work shoes. read more

I was left for nearly 30 minutes before they even started my manicure and I was not treated as a priority as people who came in way later were finished before I was even halfway done. I had to think hard about even writing a review, but I feel like the establishment should at least know and the lady that did them was nice, but exhausted, since it was her and one other person there all day. Anyhow, I had acrylic nails put on. My real nails were not trimmed down before hand, my cuticles were not pushed down and trimmed, my hands are all cut up and the whole event was rushed. It is visually clean and people are friendly. Hence the two stars. I work in the industry and noticed only one implement used was new and sanitized. Very nice people but way over priced for a half ass job, not to mention they were in a huge hurry so my nails look kind of bad.

I was pressed for time before leaving town. On a Sunday at noon, I stopped by my favorite nail salon and found they were so busy it would be hours. I decided to try another place, DK nails. I was there for over two hours. Two mistakes on a pedicure and another on a french manicure which I'm sure was due to miscommunication. I know now why it was empty. It's clean and relaxing. I was glad there wasn't a lot of people, but felt the employees did not have a lot of experience. read more

I've now gone 3 times. First 2 times were great (different technicians). Pedis were decent and lasted a long time. 3rd time - pretty awful. Different tech - cut the tip off of my little toe with clippers! Was apologetic but also lots of whispering with the male tech at the next station while glancing up at me. Had to point out all the excess polish on one toe after she'd finished. Gloppy pedi - 2nd coat visibly not to the edges. I have always liked DK in the past but the last two times first I got an older woman who seemed to tired to even be doing it.
