I placed my order and after receipt of the part felt like the website mislead me. I was looking for replacement gaskets for shower door hinges and the gasket replacement showed 4 pieces and the verbiage said hinges. When I got the part, it was only for one hinge and although it was 4 parts, it was two different thicknesses for only one hinge. Nowhere on the site did it say that or show that. After I got the part I was disappointed because I wanted to do the project this weekend. Also the shipping cost was very hi and had I known I needed an additional part, I would have felt ok adding it to the already very expensive shipping box cost. But when I called in they didnt care very much and offered me a reduced rate of an additional 4 to send me the second part. No one took ownership of the part not being listed properly so I had to expend a LOT of time and effort to get what I need and I needlessly have delays and higher cost now. I went to their website to post a review and that link isnt readily evident either so....someone there hopefully will read this and tweak things so other customers have a better experience. I wouldn't recommend ordering from these guys if you need the part anytime soon. They don't grasp the concept of urgency. Apparently, standard shipping was from LA to FL to WI. I ordered on Sunday, they hadn't shipped it by Friday. Called to cancel the order, so then they drop shipped it from IL to WI, got it Monday. Needed a very specific part for an installation and found it online. I called the local provider in Los Angeles and they referred me to DK for order processing. Phone service was great, and they processed my order right away. Since the items shipped locally, they arrived promptly. However, an additional processing fee along with double shipping was added to the bill without that being made clear ahead of time. Spoke with customer service, and they clarified this was standard for their drop-shipped items, and apologized that this wasn't made clear during my phone order. Glad to get the correct item quickly, and happy that the staff explained the cost, but unhappy with a billing procedure, which isn't upfront. read more

So admittedly I ordered a part that had ended up being discontinued and sure enough they were in touch within a few hours not only letting me know but to suggest an item that was ok as well for what I needed. I will be back since this place has hardware and parts not available in the local stores. 1 Star is really and truly more than DK Hardware deserves. I ordered my window a month ago and when I called to check in to get an update I was told by some gentleman that they've tried to call me after i placed my order to inform me of an additional $135 i would have to pay before I could receive my window. First off, my job revolves around my phone so if for some reason i do miss a call, i always return the call- i NEVER received a call from DK. This is AFTER my order was placed, people!! We ordered 3 customer service drive through windows. Quik Serve windows from this company for a Government office remodel. One of the windows came very damaged with scratches. The process to return the window was a nightmare and is now going on 3 weeks. All we wanted was a replacement window and we sent back a brand new never opened window to Quik Serve. Now they want to charge us 20% restocking fee and some damage from the trucking company they sent to get the window and we will have no new window, no solution and they do not listen to their customers. Do yourself a favor and go order from somewhere else and find another window company that is not Quik Serve. Both customer service from these two companies are a joke. read more

Hmm - same problem as another reviewer below. The website says same day, but since it was Saturday, I assumed it would ship Monday. Here we are on the next Monday (8 days after ordering), and it still hasn't shipped - the response was that if I wanted it sooner, I would have had to pay extra to have it shipped from the manufacturer. Basically - misleading at best. The webiste also suggests they have this country-wide shipping network that speeds things up - my order was to be shipped to Northern California, the manufacturer is in Los Angeles, they supposedly have a San Francisco warehouse, but they have the product (an off-the-shelf sized door sweep) shipped to Florida, and then they ship to me. And it's hurricane season, so... Wonder if I can just call the manufacturer and get it tomorrow? read more

The door measurement posted do not include the measurement of the frames, and when I was told to measure the entire doorway, I figured therefore the measurements INCLUDE the frame. Nope. Called and was told "too bad--it's an industry standard and you should have known." I'm a teacher, NOT a contractor. They refused a refund on shipping (over $240 when all said and done) or even a partial b/c they said this was not their error, so I'd be out $240 on what would end up being a $700 purchase and still have no doors. Buyer beware. If I have the ability to give zero stars I would. I ordered numerous items from DK hardware six weeks ago and specifically chose them when I found them online because they had stated that the products were in stock. The website still says they're in stock yet in small letters it states special order. I was told it would take two weeks and decided to wait. Here I am six weeks later and being told that they still don't have the items in stock. They just contacted me to say that they were going to ship out the items that they now did have in stock but that I wouldn't get the products that they currently have for another nine days. I requested to speak with a supervisor and was told that no one would be available for several days. I've been in the service industry for many years and I find this completely unacceptable customer service. DK hardware has been given many opportunities to recuperate my satisfaction but failed every time. read more

Buyer Beware. I ordered 20 stock length pieces of 3/4" x 7/16" aluminum screen frame and 100 7/16" square cut screen frame corners. Although the shipping label indicates the correct sizes were sent, the frame corners do not fit into the frame pieces. The customer "service" rep said that "Even though the shipping label states the correct size, sometimes the wrong size is sent by mistake." Because I am over 30 days past the purchase date, DK will not accept a return and will do nothing to make this right. read more

After I received my order I was just browsing the web and found some horrible reviews regarding DK Hardware. Am am not quite sure where those came from as my experience was completely opposite. I have ordered twice from DK Hardware for glass brackets and had a completely seamless process. However, I did not order the wrong thing, have a shipping company damage the goods, or get into a "pissing match" with anybody. Sometimes I think "we" are our worst enemies. Easy to deal with, had a paint that was hard to find, bad news is that it was the wrong paint code so had to return it, paint cost was high for a spray can, over $20.00, return was easy to arrange but expensive to ship back as it had to go ground, almost not worth returning but half my money back is fine. read more

I am not sure this a real store and may be just a web site. I don't think they stock anything, even what they claim on the web site as "in stock" is not in their stock. I think they have no stock. They drop ship from sources like Home Depot Pro web site and upcharge you for the materials and for shipping. Their shipping charges for one and two day delivery are absurdly expensive. For example HOme Depot Pro may charge DKH $20 for one day shipping and DKH will charge you $100. They have a large "re-stocking fee" for any returns because they have no place to put any returns, and they will do everything they can to prevent you from cancelling an order or returning an order. DKH is just going to return the items to Home Depot who charges them no restocking fee. They will also do everything they can to not let you cancel an order, even one that is two weeks out from shipping. DO NOT USE THEM. read more

I ordered parts through the website for their standard shipping process. When I checked out, the discount was applied with no handling fee. I looked at the total and it was correct. After submitting the information, the receipt generated switched the shipping method and instead of charging me $8.95 for standard shipping, switched it to next day air for $96.50. Interestingly, when I returned to the site to check the shipping method, the next day air shipping rate for the same product and quantity was only $91.62. Not only was I bait and switched into a more expensive shipping method I did not choose, but I was charged more than their next day shipping cost posted. Not looking closely at the receipt generated, I did not notice that the amount billed was incorrect until, to my surprise, the parts arrived the next day.....much quicker than I THOUGHT I paid for but for their company unknowingly switching me into an exorbitant shipping charge. FedEx/UPS charges for the size and weight box I received would not be anywhere near $96. Unacceptable. I will be making a complaint to the Florida Attorney General's Office and also having a lawyer friend who does class action lawsuits looki into filing an action against this company by reaching out to other yelp reviewers who have been deceptively billed by this company. Not a good company if you need to return items. I order 2 sets of pivots for mirrors. They did not work for us. One set we did not even attempt to use. I returned both sets. DK hardware would not refund either set. They said they were damaged. Sent me pictures of pivots with scratches and dents on them. I know the ones we sent back were not damaged. Purchased double hung window hardware, recognizing their price higher than HDepot, because their picture of product was closer to item being replaced. When product arrived, it was identical to the HD item, including the model number, only their price was $38.69 versus $22.47. Called to complain and ask for their "Price Match Guarantee" and their reply was "We don't match prices with HD, because they buy in bulk. You can return the items, pay return postage and 20% restocking fee." Asked about their product packaging being from Prime-line, not having the web-advertised name CRL anywhere and not looking like the web-picture, their reply "We buy from CRL, Prime-line has a patent and is the only manufacturer. The picture is probably out-of-date." FYI, Prime-line is not the only manufacturer. Unfortunately bought 2 to avoid the $4.99 handling fee and reduce the unit shipping cost, for total of $86.98. Would like to support smaller retailers instead of HDepot, but could have purchased three (free shipping, but with sales tax) for less from HD, they don't have the 20% restocking fee and the state could use the revenue. Be careful, web guarantees are easy to slime-around. read more
