3.5, rounded up because they deliver to my family's "super suburban area" house, and they offer a gluten-free option, which a few of my lovies need! I was the usual New Yorker pizza snob, and wasn't expecting much. I took one slice with pepp and mush, another with sausage, and figured it would be a small dinner. Well......four slices later, I am a DJ's fan! They're about as solid as the typical "not too shabby" nyc pizza joint, and even better than some I've had. Rock out and get this ish in yo' mouf! read more

Came here one snowy evening. The staff was friendly and patient while i decided what i wanted to get. i ordered hot oil, mushrooms and broccoli pizza. The pizza was okay. nothing special. but was really soggy. The toppings were sparse. Overall, it was something to eat and open until 11. It didn't satisfy my pizza craving thou. probably wont be back unless it's late night and looking for pizza read more

Love love love love....And i moved here from NYC. Having originally been raised in CT until about 9 years ago, I am well aware of the fact that in CT finding a perfect pizza is as hard as finding an edible fish in the connecticut river. In addition, its always a gamble as to what kind of pizza youll get. Doughy crust to one person means a completely different thing to another. Greek pizza on the shoreline is nothing like "greek" pizza in hartford. Thin crust doesnt always negate the grease, and cheese doesnt always mean mozz. I tried three places prior to DJs, and found that theres more to beware of than the pizza alone. Apparently, around these parts, getting someone to willingly deliver your order to your actual door in an apartment complex is even harder than fishing for that aforementioned edible flapper. One refused to leave his car. Another told me that they had no idea how the dial pad worked. Another almost left when I asked him to come inside, and had to wait as I dragged children with me to his vehicle. Add to this fiasco the third idiosyncrasy that is pizza delivery in "The Valley": the inability to get the order correct- and youre just about willing to never try pizza again. Every. Single. Order. Was wrong. And usually the most important item. So those same people who had no idea how to dial four numers, or walk down a hallway, were now forced to go back, get my soda, and return. Making me get up, and wait for them the entire time. (Enjoy that $3 tip, thanks for being so flexible). Alas, i found a menu from DJs and it said "Mashed Potato Bacon". You couldnt stop me. From my days up in Storrs, I was pulled back in and it was worth every agonizing memory from previous orders. Upon calling DJs i was greeted with a friendly person, who actually seemed to enjoy taking my order. We both understood each other well, no more "valley" speak necessary. And when the order came, the driver not only knew how to dial a keypad but had no issues whatsoever coming to my door and even had a smile! Opening the package was killing me, but alas, inside was my beautiful pizza and everything was just as ordered! The pizza, though. Believe it or not, it makes me forget Storrs. At this point, after one beautiful bite of that perfect pizza I cant even remember what my old schools classic tasted like. I cant help but rave out my "favorite pizza place" now and im constantly making people who visit from the city try it. Id also like to comment on the peanut butter pie. However, there are no words in the English language that can do it justice. So I tell you this. Unless you are allergic to peanuts- get that pie. Heck, get the pie even if you are and take some benedryl. Itll be worth the hospital visit. Bottom line: Awesome Food Great Delivery (on time and with a smile- nothing smushed) Menu represents items accurately Staff incredibly friendly Peanut Butter Pie EDIT: Someone msg me stating that they disagree with my opinion that "CT has no good pizza" so i feel i should reiterate...I never said pizza doesnt have good pizza...in fact i noted one place within the review itself (storrs). So let me say this, im saying that there are SO MANY damn pizza places in CT...so to find the good ones, can be a gamble, and is not always easy to find them until youve tried all the others. Clearly, im telling you there are some good places....AK DJS! hahahah ;) read more

Good pizza and wings. Definitely a nice choice when I was staying in Shelton and wanted delivery.

We order from this restaurant regularly. From the pizza to the sandwiches, salads and wings we are always happy with their food. And the prices are reasonable too! Highly recommend. read more

I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and it came out so burnt that I couldn't even eat it, the crust was so crunchy, however I called back and they gave me $20 credit, Great customer service read more

I had a good veal parm sandwich and a great (very filling) chef salad. The guys working were friendly and the place was clean. It's very small and there are no tables, just an island with 4 chairs. read more

Delivery on 9/28 to my hotel placed an order to deliver 25 minutes before close. Pizza was fresh and tasted pretty good. BUT, I have to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to their Caesar Salad -- the lettuce was perhaps the freshest lettuce I have ever had at pizza place, heck, maybe even an Italian Style Restaurant. The salad came with fresh shaved cheese on top. And the dressing? It was one of the best Caesar Dressings I have had in a long long time! Rock on DJ's ! read more

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. About 6 months ago after being so sick of the horrible delivery pizza in Stratford/Shelton someone told me about DJ's. I couldn't be happier. The food is always delicious no matter what you get. The delivery driver is always pleasant and nice. The food comes really quick compared to any other place I've ever ordered from. I don't think it's ever taken over 40 minutes not even on a Friday night. Their white garlic bread pizza is so amazing ! This is the only place I'll ever order from for pizza/grinders now for delivery. read more

We started ordering from here because it's the closest in location to us. I really like the hot oil pizza. And the service when you call for delivery is the best I've ever experienced. Very friendly. We ordered from here too many times and my kids lost the taste for the pizza. Those finicky kids. Once they lose the taste for the next place, we'll order from here again. My only complaint is that sometimes there are charred pieces on the crust that surprise my taste buds. When the crust is good, it's good though. Thin, crispy and usually just burnt enough to be nice. The service bumps this place up to a 4 star from a solid to high 3. read more

I thought the pizza was very good I would order here again the only thing I didn't like was the bacon wasn't spread out all over pizza and more mashed potatoes on it . But it tasted great And that's hard to find... read more

Great pie and a very affordable price, got a large 14 inch for around 11 bucks and the pizza was good. A little greasy but not too bad, perfect crust. The delivery guy didn't have any change but seemed genuinely apologetic about it, nice kid. Def try them out if you're in the area just make sure they have change! read more

Visiting and staying at local hotel. Called for delivery. Order had a few special instructions (that frequently get missed other places). Very pleased. The order was delivered quicker then they said. It was 100% correct. The food was very good and both the order taker and the delivery person were nice. Definitely recommend. read more

Great food, friendly staff, and a good delivery choice. Buffalo chicken grinder is recommended.

This will now be my pizza spot of choice when not leaving Shelton. Very friendly staff that helped me navigate the menu. Ordered the hot oil pizza which had a perfect amount of heat to it, without going overboard like I've had elsewhere. Also got the wings which were on par with some full-scale wing houses, and not just a side note (we went with the parmesan garlic and mild). Topped it off with garlic knots that tasted freshly baked. read more

This was my first experience with them and it was not good at all. The cheese has hard and was basically wasn't on the pizza. There was barely any pizza sauce. The only reason I give at least one star was because the delivery guy was very pleasant and had great customer service and the bottom of the pizza was a great flavor/seasoning. Also, as I ate my second piece of pizza there was hard something in the pizza. So disgusting! read more

DJ's Pizza - It looks like a brown bone or idk what it is but it shouldn't be in pizza. It's hard as a rock! - Pizza Near Me - Shelton, Connecticut

This was the second time that we ordered a pizza from this place. Both times we ordered clams casino. The actual items were tasty but each time we had it they left between a two and three inch crust with nothing on it. Ending up throwing the dry crust out which was probably one third of the pizza. Probably won't order from them again read more

Wow! Thats the one word I would use to describe DJ's Pizza. Staff is very friendly, and the food is out of this world! The Thai Chili wings are my favorite, along with the chicken parmesan dinner (which they bread in house with fresh chicken, nothing frozen). The pizzas are all 5 star quality as well with the Hamburger Special being the familys favorite (It's like a Big Mac pizza!) Definitally the best pizza place in Shelton bar none! read more

Food very good, very fast delivery, and Staff is friendly. Dependable. True the Philly Cheese Steak.

Saw an add for them on Facebook and decided to give them a try. Unfortunately it was below average. The pizza was flavorless and very thin. The wings were overcooked. Perhaps we will try again. But tonight was a disappointment. read more

Though I try to write reviews, many don't get written for various reasons, sometimes even for my favorite spots. But I'm carving time out of my day, 3 days before Christmas, to write a review for DJ's. I placed my order through Yelp, and while deciding between L and XL, deleted one from my cart and purchased the other (XL). About 15-20 minutes after placing my order, I had a thought that maybe I didn't add the 'no cheese' comment onto the pizza I put through, and as vegans, it's a real mess, and pretty gross, to try and disassemble the pizza, remove the cheese and then place all of the ingredients back on. So I called. It sounded busy, busy, busy (ha, see what I did there? From Frosty the Snowman? ...No?) but whomever answered the phone said yes, the order came through with cheese, but he would make me one without. I thanked him profusely and told the kids that the pizza would be a bit delayed because I slipped up and forgot to ask for no cheese. Much to all of our surprise, the doorbell rang 27 minutes later and was delivered by a whistling, joyful person and was piping hot and DELICIOUS. I'm not really a red sauce eater, and I don't care too much for green peppers or black olives (my girls love them) but I devoured 2 pieces, as did each of my girls and even the 1 year old ate an entire piece (which was big!) 100 stars to DJ's pizza! I won't be ordering from other local, disappointing pizza places in the future. read more

Got the chicken Alfredo and potato and bacon pizza. The chicken Alfredo was too saucy and very messy. It definitely needs more chicken. As for the potato bacon pizza it was ok. You could barely taste the mashed potatoes read more

The grilled chicken Caesar salad is so good! The chicken is cooked perfectly! Everything in this salad is so fresh! The shop is real small but they deliver and do takeout. The staff seems really friendly. I used paypal to pay which this is what brought me in! I will defiantly order from here again. Thanks guys read more

No, just no. We were looking for an inexpensive and quick bite to eat and stopped here. They were friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in. We looked at the menu for a few minutes and they my husband decided he just wanted fries and I got a slice. Here's where it started to go wrong. They put my slice in to warm at the same time they started the fries?? Two mins later they hand me the slice and then 10 minutes later the fries. They kept the slice on top of the oven while the fries were cooking to keep it warm (it didn't). As we were leaving my husband asked for ketchup the guy says to him "I put two in the bag". The fries were $5 and all I get is two ketchup, really?? The fries were soggy and covered in pepper and the pizza was cold and hard. They were busy so obviously people like this restaurant but I will not be back read more

We are from New York... Reviewing pizza... We know our standards are high but this place wasn't that bad. I liked my cheese slice; I felt like the shape was a little wonky and it was a bit greasy. My husband felt his pepperoni slice was subpar. Taste was good, quality bad. The front of the slice was soggy. Their wings were Fried and pretty tasty. They had a nice crunch but we're not fully coated in sauce. The"hot" wasn't hot at all but I guess that's why they have fire hot as an option. read more

I saw a DJ's pizza advertisement in the shopping carts at Shoprite. Not only was the hot oil pizza the bomb but the guys answering the phone and delivering the pizza were the nicest people ever! This has become my regular pizza spot read more

I ordered the hot oil pizza and expected something spectacular. Didn't get it. I even heated it up in the oven to revive it. Still nothing. Also, the driver was not the brightest and kept calling me to prove his ineptitude. Not a good impression. read more

Pizza was good, but about 1 out of every 3 wings were broken and left me with bits of bones in my mouth. The staff was friendly and the food was hot. Again the pizza was good and warm so I can't give a bad review. The wings prevent me from giving a better review. I think at the end of the day, it could have been just a bad batch, but working in restaurants for a long time, I recommend just throwing the bad wings away or find a new wing source. The sauce was good and they were cooked right - I understand that you as an employee probably feel the pressure to sell what you can and not waste a thing and 1 or 2 wings wouldn't be an issue, but when you pay about $1 per wing, you expect each wing to be edible. Think of what $1 can get you versus a broken wing. After $3 of 3 bad wings, I could have gotten a lot more for that money (a gallon of gas, 3 dollar store items, 3 bags of chips, a coffee and donut from DD, a weeks worth of chores for my son). I recommend the pizza, but warn about the wings. read more

First time ordering from here and got a small cheese pizza and a calzone. Delivery was good, got my food on time. Food was tasty, but the calzone was all bread, pretty much had filling in only half of it. In the picture, it's filled only to wear I've torn open the dough. Plus I ordered a chicken calzone with two other toppings, but got no chicken. The pizza was good. I would give them another chance, but just for pizza. read more

Got the shrimp scampi pizza. So delicious and so fresh. Crust was thin bit crispy, and everyone in there was nice. All in all great place.

We order a lot from here. Shelton does not really have a lot of good pizza places and this is the best we have found so far.

I ordered from DJ's for a small corporate event. They were very professional and friendly on the phone and delivered the order on time.
