    I ordered pick up from this location some pies. I did not know this place was too small and limited menu compared to Astoria location. I love their stuff but i wont come here again. They only serve pies and some desserts here. In Astoria, they have a very big menu and better ambiance. My only complaint for this location, to the owner!!! As i walked in, the lady working behind the counter was in a coat, hat, scarf and gloves bundled up trying to work. In any day, especially in winter, you cannot let anybody work in these conditions. She was saying she will be there for 12hours! No heat! Absolutely not! I hope labor department walks in here like that, they will shut the place down.

    Came in and ordered the spinach, meat pies. Also ordered the cabbage rolls For some reason we find the pies are far better than the rolls. Establishment clean and staff friendly.

    If you are a foodie, Djerdan is worth a try. The burek are unusual, very different from Turkish/Arabic, and Italian rolls for sure. So they are from Bosnia, not Turkish. I had a slice of the beef pie, since spinach was not available. It was quite tasty, although a bit salty. The pastry was very flakey. Next time I will try it with yogurt. A good combination! As others mentioned supply is an issue. I had the last beef slice, no spinach available. Only other option was cheese. only 2 slices left. This was at 2pm Wednesday. If you order a whole pie that wait time is about 18 minutes A quick 5-7 minute walk from the N train BayParkway station. Djerdan is actually not on 65th Street, but turn the corner and you will find it. Good eating! Worth a visit.

    This is my first review on yelp. It certainly is not a good one. In Fact, I went out of my way to download yelp just to tell you that this place and their food is horrific. This, so called burek at $5 dollars is not worth 5 pennies. I ordered a meat burek along with my friend which he also ordered a cheese. The expression where is the meat certainly applies to this place. There was at best 4 or 5 grams of meat. The cheese burek which is supposed to be made with feta looked like cardboard, my friend confirmed that cardboard actually tasted better. I ordered a diet coke which i found out it most likely expired a decade ago. Upon returning the d-coke server tells me that all of them are just as bad. I would advise owners to learn how to make a proper burek or do the public a favor and close down. I cannot believe that I am forced to give it a star. It is certainly unworthy of anything.

    Hubby and I drove past this spot on a totally unrelated food mission. Alas, that mission was aborted (Thank you, Honeybee Patisserie for being closed during your posted hours of operation). Anyway, we decided fate was nudging us here and circled back. Besides, we'd remembered liking another location of this mini Burek empire several years ago: A Burek, for the unitiated, is a savory layered phyllo pie. At Djerdan, they offer three different fillings, including Ground Beef, Spinach, and Cheese. We ordered one wedge of each to-go and tried them all over the next few days. Earthy Spinach was my favorite, followed by Ground Beef flecked with onion, though the meat filling was a bit skimpy. Cheese was very mild and creamy (ricotta?) and I longed for a hit of salt in the form of feta, but that's me. Am sure these are not the flakiest, most authentic or delicious tasting Bureks out there. I'm also not sure I care. For $4.75, a slice of Djerdan's Burek leaves me totally satisfied. How often do you get to say that? Plus it reheats beautifully. I could see taking home a whole pie ($18 I believe), adding a salad and calling it dinner. I am not suggesting that anyone drop everything to rush over here. But if you happen to be in the area, it is well worth a stop.

    I've been meaning to try this place since we passed by a while ago and I thought the sign outside looked really cute. I was finally able to when we needed to pick up breakfast on a sunny Sunday last weekend. Not knowing which to pick since there weren't any pies in sight, I asked for a slice of each and was extremely surprised to see the lady put such huge slices in the box to go and when I asked if that was the smallest size, she said yes. She was very nice and we chatted about the weather. At first, I thought I paid $15 for two slices, which seemed pricey but I hadn't realized there were three kinds so it was definitely worth the price of $5 a slice as I had so much leftover for two more lunches. I thought there was spinach and meat only but there's plain cheese as well, which I thought would taste just like the spinach without cheese but I was wrong because I liked it more than the spinach. My favorite of the three was the meat, which is beef.

I enjoy that they serve their hot moroccan tea in a glass as is traditional, so you can see all the fresh mint leaves in your cup. I had tea like this multiple times a day during my trip to Morocco a few years back so sipping on this here took me back in time. I ordered a short stack of their blueberry pancakes which were very fluffy and delicious. They're not the kind of pancake with crispy edges, which are my preferred kind of pancake but I still found them satisfying. The moroccan eggs, which are two poached eggs in spicy stewed tomatoes and served with zahar pita is a delight. The pita is very fluffy and the zahatar adds such a nice fragrant spice to the bread. They used to serve this with potatoes but now those come at an additional charge but are well worth getting. The Williamsburg location also has pretty good wifi and they let me work on my laptop through my brief stay there. Kitchen was speedy too.

Additionally, they have a mostly Lebanese wine list, which gave us an opportunity to try some new wines. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. Everyone at the table receives fresh pita, and we ended up ordering a few more to share. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the snap peas. The Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, but the snap peas really stood out. They were unlike anything I have tasted before, intensely mint, served with garlic mint labneh, and very delicious. For mains, we focused on lamb: two orders of the lamb ribs, two orders of the kafta, and two orders of the sfeeha. We probably over-ordered by about one entrée, but otherwise it was the right amount of food for six people. The lamb ribs were phenomenal, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The lamb pies were also very good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kafta was good, though not quite as memorable as the other lamb dishes, but still very satisfying. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and despite the number of dishes on the table, the staff handled everything smoothly. The table got a little crowded at times, but it was manageable. I would absolutely recommend Sawa, especially for anyone who enjoys trying something a little different. The salatim, hummus, and pita are unlimited, which is a great deal. The hummus was excellent--smooth, flavorful, and easily one of my favorite parts of the meal. The pita was fresh, warm, and constantly replenished. Among the salatim, I especially enjoyed the fennel and cabbage salad and the cucumber salad. The olive-cornichon mix and the pickled vegetables were good, but didn't stand out as much. For mains, the spicy lamb kofta was very good--well-seasoned, juicy, and served with a generous portion of tahini that was way more than needed. They also bring a small bowl of buttery cilantro rice for the table, which is a thoughtful touch, although honestly the unlimited pita was more than enough. The one disappointment was the brisket dog. We ordered it expecting something special, but it was surprisingly dry. The challah bun completely overwhelmed the sausage, and the cabbage topping plus crispy fried onions didn't add any moisture. The accompanying sauce was tahini-based, so it leaned dry as well instead of balancing everything out. On the bright side, it came with incredibly crispy fries and a delicious house ketchup that tasted much better than a standard bottled ketchup. Dessert was the soft serve, which was perfectly fine but nothing particularly memorable. For drinks, the mango cocktail with chili and lime was refreshing and hard to dislike. I also tried the fig arak drink. It was good and exciting to try, but I realized I'm just not much of a star anise person, so it wasn't really my style. The standout of the night was the restaurant's namesake cocktail, something wolf. Even though it's made with arak, I barely noticed it. The rum, passion fruit, and tropical flavors came together beautifully, making it taste like something you'd happily sip on a beach. Easily my favorite thing I drank that evening. Overall, given so many great restaurants in Brooklyn I might not come back to this but will say that it would be amazing to do a big group meal here - especially with the gorgeous views. Aesthetics on point for sure :)
