DJ Trivia rocks! I have participated in a number of games at several different locations now, and DJ Trivia is often a highlight of my week. All of the hosts I have played with have been fun and engaging. I love that the event ultimately supports local bars and restaurants. That's what it's all about! The experience is completely free. I suppose you could even skip ordering anything at all at some locations and simply play the trivia game and leave. I love that the questions and categories are so mixed and there is such a wide variety throughout the evening. Games typically start at 7:30 PM, with check-in starting at 7 PM. I have not been to any location that has different start times. DJ Trivia is the perfect mid-week activity. It gives me something to look forward to during the work week, and I love that I can play with a small group of friends or invite the whole crew. While I may not be a trivia whiz, it's still a great time, and I am thrilled that this organization exists and brings awesome trivia games to Northern Nevada. I would love to see even more games in the Carson/Minden area. read more

Back in Denver, pub trivia was a weekly ritual for me... fun team names, different bars/pubs, eccentric hosts.... it was the best time! So when I moved back to Reno 5 years ago, it was quite disappointing to find out that there was no Geeks Who Drink trivia anywhere in town. Enter DJ Trivia! We first experienced it at Midtown Wine Bar last year and had a total blast, even though we were far from winning! Since then, we've popped around to different places and played with different hosts. The absolute best has been Elgin, or Mr. e. He is funny and kind and knows how to keep your attention! He's also great with the music/song clues. We will specifically go to either Revision Brewery on a Thursday night or Shim's Surplus Supplies on a Sunday just because he's the host! The thing about trivia is everyone has some useless knowledge just sitting in their noggins. Whether you're the biggest nerd or think you know nothing, theres a good chance you'll enjoy trivia! It's fun and I'm totally addicted. We stumbled into Midtown Wine Bar one night last fall and DJ Trivia was going on. Three of us decided to give it a try. You create a team name and join for free. There are five rounds, four are multiple choice questions followed by a written answer that can double or loose your points if you choose to answer it. The last round is all written answers. While you are thinking about your answer, a song is played and very often the song, lyricts or artist will provide a clue to the answer you are looking for. There are several locations on different nights of the week. Like them on Facebook to see where they are. Each location offers different prizes each night for the winner or top three teams depending on how many teams are competing. At the end of the season there is final competition that brings in all the top teams from all the locations for all the marbles. read more

We've been going to DJ trivia at multiple locations around Reno for a little under a year, and it's definitely the most popular quiz in town! They usually have quizzes going on every night Monday-Thursday, and cover basically every area of Reno/Sparks - so there's probably a location close to you! The format is 4 rounds of questioning, with usually around 4 questions in each round. The first 3 rounds are multiple choice, and the fourth round is write in only. At the end of the first three rounds, they ask a "double or nothing" question that either doubles your points for that round if you get the answer, or causes you to lose all the points for that round if you answer and get it wrong. Answering the double or nothing questions is optional though! At the very end of the game there is a "Do or Die" dare in which you double your entire score from all four rounds, or you lose it all and get zero. The do or die questions can make or break the entire game, so answer carefully! There's a group of 4 or 5 hosts that cover the different locations, and we've had great experiences with all of them. They definitely try to get to know your team if you're a regular, and often play songs during the quiz that might give hints to the questions. There's no cost to play, and if you place in the top three teams you usually win credit toward a bar tab at the location you're playing. If you're looking for something fun to do with your friends, I'd definitely check out their website and find a location! read more

DJ trivia is really fun except for one dj. Don't get me wrong I would give this dj hug and a handshake if I saw them on the street and maybe even have them over for dinner but this person really sucks at giving clues and moving through the rounds. But Dj trivia is really fun still. read more

I've been a regular participant in DJ Trivia for over a year now and though Beer NV is our home base, the team and I have played at multiple venus and have experienced multiple hosts, and I have to say there is nobody quite like Mai. As a host she's very succinct, doesn't try to hard to be zany with excessive sound effects or obnoxious jokes, and her music selection is excellent. In short, anybody who claims a non-Mai host is superior is either lying or symoly has not experienced a DJ Trivia game hosted by her. Keep up the good work! read more

I thought this place was cool and amazing at first. I had an experience that confirms now I will not be returning to DJ Trivia, after the derogatory statements and the way my family was treated by MAI! I confronted Mai and to my face she lied about what what going on. If this place has people like this we don't need to be in this environment.. Mai is good about putting on a nice act., but after my experienced there, putting it nicely on this review, I will not be returning. We used DJ Trivia for our Saturday night entertainment at our Men's retreat in South Lake Tahoe. It offered 90 minutes of great competition and loads of fun. We had 9 teams competing and everyone had a fantastic time. Each team came up with a team name and away we went.
