Both are hosted by the husband and wife, duo of Chase and. Kayleigh. I saw the "nocturnal" show, and I loved it. . Chase is the MC, and he also does illusions from slieight of hand, to illusions such as cutting a woman from the audience in half without a box, and a great straitjacket, escape, ala, Harry Houdini. The jokes are fast and furious, and definitely adult oriented, there is a lot of interaction with the audience, and bringing audience members on stage. There's never a dull moment. The dancers are beautiful, and yes, a little provocative, but definitely not dirty. The show never slows down. It's a 90 minute show with a 15 minute intermission, and it's entertaining from the beginning until the end. The price for the show is very reasonable, but they get you with both the cocktails, and the snack bar for the theater. I bought a small thing of popcorn, and a 20 ounce soda, and I was out 16 bucks. They actually let us play some games more than once so it had its upside too. There are 5 games based on the senses. I won't go farther as to not ruin the surprise. 3 were really fun, 1 was pretty fun, and 1 was mediocre although younger kids would like it (the balls). A couple games were more difficult than expected but still fun. The main thing that brings it down to a 4.5 for me, is the value. At $31 a person, we were done in about 50 minutes, about an hour including the orientation. Not the published 75 minutes. We felt like we wanted at least one more game to feel like it was worth the money or something far better than the quick ball game. I can see they priced it roughly around escape room prices. If you've never done it, feel $31/person is fair for an hour of entertainment, and have a group of 4-8, it's probably 5 stars. But the value would go down next visit as the uniqueness of a new experience is part of the entertainment. For us we felt dropping almost $100 on this was a tad pricey for 3 people so 4.5 stars. $25/person, would be 5.0 -stars. Staff is great. Realizing that our session might have been fast because we only had 1 team despite replaying a couple games twice, assuming a large group gets more play time and considering the two-team competition aspect, I'm rounding to a weak 5 stars. She was very kind and had a lovely personality. She also gave us a courtesy call to ensure we located the center within the Grand Sierra Resort. What caught our eye was that we had to use one of our senses in each of the five challenges: smell, taste, touch, sight, and hearing. The day before we had gone to an escape room and were looking for more similar experiences. Some of the challenges required the team to be split into teams while other challenges required the entire team to participate. Overall, it was a great time and I highly recommend to take a few family members and friends to enjoy the experience with. They also have a snack bar there and a dart room called the Dart Side next door.

This past weekend I was going to breakfast down the way, and had some time to kill with the wait so wondered on down. This is a GREAT local music shop with small venue in the back. So many instruments and a very cozy/warm atmosphere. The converted house is the perfect building for this type of business. The owner (or one of them?) was quick to greet us and show us around the place. I tried out a couple of vintage instruments when I was there and he was very knowledgeable and informative about what I was playing. Looking forward to coming back for a live performance at sometime. They seem to have routine jam sessions as well as touring musicians stopping by the place.

We rang the doorbell and were greeted by one of the owners, Don, and his dog LadyBug. Don informed us that if we were looking for records, we were in the wrong place but told us to come check out what they DID have. Mountain Music Parlor is a cute little shop filled with all sorts of instruments. So many that you'll have to go see for yourself including endless ukuleles, cricket violins, guitars, and more. The most amazing thing about Don was that no matter what obscure musical instrument or accessory we asked about, Don had it! From cajons to violin mutes. He also showed us the performance room where they have different jam sessions including Celtic nights, Old Time, Cowboy, Aloha Ukulele, Open Mic, and Bluegrass. They also have music lessons available for various instruments. I'm so glad to have stumbled upon Mountain Music Parlor and will definitely be getting all of my musical knick knacks from them for the foreseeable future. Always excited when I can support great local businesses like this!

We attended a Yelp Punk Rock Flea Market event a couple of weeks ago. They had a ton of vendors…read moreselling all sorts of cool items and I really good band playing some good ole rock and roll. We had my bestie visiting from Sacto so this was a perfect event to take him to. The one thing that was difficult is we had a very long walk from the parking to the actual event so I wished I had brought my parasol :) it was a very hot day similar to what we've had all summer. This year was so strange weather wise, I feel like we didn't have a spring at all, it was like Winter then Summer. I love the rain so it was amazing for that and to help our water resources. It was very crowded so this proved that this was a great success. They had a cute area for the children with picnic tables with coloring books. This was very wise of the organizers to think of this. I literally squeezed myself into a bench and hung out there until the boys were finished with the beer and band. I just wanted to get home to the pool. My buddy Tomas and Joe were exciting try the different beers and they definitely did, guess who drove home? ;) Fun event! The only thing that could use some improvement for next year was the ticket people had no idea about how to accept my 2 free tickets... It was only $7 per person so that's so reasonable it wasn't worth arguing. Yelp has brought me so much happiness over the years starting in the Bay Area and then coming to Reno. One can only dream of where I'll be next...

The tasting space is pretty tight be comfortable. A hand full of bar height tables and a decent sized bar space are great places to choose to sit while having a pint or two. I am not sure who did the food, I just assumed it was done in house but the food truck outside had a different logo on it, then that logo was covered up with the Great Basin logo. Maybe the trailer is a new acquisition for Local Food Group and just hasn't been repainted. Either way the corned beef tots were perfect. Not too salty or rich, just tasty tasty goodness that totally satisfied. My side of cabbage and carrots was a perfect addition to the meal. It was really nice to be able to get a smaller set of meals that were able to feed. The food was so good in fact that we decided to go back the next night to try some sliders and the more classic corned beef and cabbage dish. But that didn't work out because we were stopped at the door and told to pay a cover for a music event that night. Total bummer because we probably would have spent $50 or $60 bucks on food and drinks easily. It was sort of an awkward moment. Next time I will double check to not go on a night where they require tickets to just enter.

I've recently joined the Sierra Arts Literary Community and have attended two monthly get…read moretogethers. Thoughts on the venue: The art is well placed on the walls and is easy to see and well illuminated. The information about each piece is also on display next to each piece, making it easy for anyone who wants to view/purchase. There is a bookshelf near the south side of the gallery with local authors who are part of SALC. (There is a yearly membership fee, however the meetings I've attended do not require you to be a member). The gallery itself was clean and well maintained. Lynne has always been eager to help and answer questions thoroughly. I look forward to attending future meetings and being an active member of the SALC community.
