I snapped a picture of their jam session schedule.

Such a welcoming and friendly little spot, I'm not a musician but we've gone in a couple of times for our young son to look around his eyes grow so wide looking at the many instruments. They are so friendly, would love to check out one of their jam sessions.

How did i not know about this hidden gem in my city? Admittedly writing this review with a huge delay, but my health has had me preoccupied. The tickets are very reasonable, they offer bites and sips but not at crazy high prices... in fact they don't have any set prices for this!!!! Its on a donation system. The owners are amazing! Interesting, engaging, and treat everyone like family. I wad so completely impressed by them, their knowledge, friendliness, and support of the arts. There is no bad seat in the concert hall. You ate literally up close and personal with the artists, who also take time to talk to the patrons and ate incredibly personable. This entire experience was absolutely amazing. I will be back.... a lot!

I'm very impressed with this store. Rene, the owner, warmly greeted us when we entered. Her personality and knowledge is what made this visit very amazing. When we told her we were looking for a ukulele, and that we were novices, she never tried to use that against us to make money or treat us like we were ignorant of music. The only thing that came from our interactions with her, was how much she loved music. She talked about the magic of the different sounds of the different ukuleles, and by the end of the conversation I had learned to hear what she heard. She's a great teacher. She also has a great selection of unique brands, some no longer being made, some directly from Hawaii that she hand picked for their uniqueness. We left with a new ukulele, a pineapple style designed for Daniel Ho. We will be back to join the ukulele club that Rene mentioned!

The Reno Swing Set and 6 Mule Pile Up @ Mountain Music Parlor, Reno

My husband and I were in Reno looking for some live bluegrass and folk music and found Mountain Music Parlor. What a find!A wonderful old home converted into a music store filled with guitars, ukuleles, mandolins, dulcimers, banjos, harps and so much more and lots of music memorabilia and they offer music lessons too!We had a great time listening to The Reno Swing Set and 6 mule pile up wonderful show! Come enjoy live music again!!

Rene says you have to name your ukulele - so I named mine Mai Tai.

When I decided to take up ukulele lessons, I went straight to this local gem of a business where I met Rene, the owner. Rene was fantastic - she spent over an hour with me, showing me the different ukuleles and strumming them for me so that I could hear the difference between the instruments. Rene helped me pick out a beautiful, zebra-wood Concert size. She gave me a quick history of the ukulele - did you know that Portuguese immigrants introduced the ukulele to Hawaii? Rene even showed me a few chords to get me started. I really appreciated this personalized service - something you wouldn't get at more commercial businesses. And, Rene is such a sweet and fun spirit. I can't wait to "jam" with her and participate in her get-togethers.

Stumbled upon this place when visiting Reno! Super cute spot and the owners are very kind. Would visit again!

Great place to check out instruments, concerts, and jam sessions. The first time I went in, I lost track of time checking out everything.

The problem is this store just doesn't stock much of anything. I leave there empty handed more often than not. If you're looking for anything outside what the majority of people use they will absolutely not stock it. They didn't even have finger and thumb picks the last time I was there. No tone bars for dobro/lap steel. No variety in flat picks, no resonator guitars, no real variety when it comes to strings. As a guitar store, I would think they would stock a variety of things guitarists would want to try, especially cheaper stuff like picks and strings. I don't know who does the ordering for this place but my guess is an AI algorithm at this point. Just another corporate shithole now I guess.

I drove over 30 miles to pick up this order for him and while 4 other items on order had no problems, they claimed there was a credit issue with the guitar. They did not tell us this when we called for pick up info, did not tell us this when we arrived and gathered all other items, and only claimed there was an issue after 2 phone calls from my brother AND me going back inside. I asked for a manager in person and both refused to come out and speak with me. I will NEVER return to this place. This is not the first time we've had problems. Their service is garbage, and so is their product. Wish I could give zero stars.

She has been a part of several amazing bands through Jampro, playing both at their awesome on-site stage and at festivals and businesses here in town. The improvement in her musical talents has been a beautiful and impressive journey that continues to leave me in awe. All of the teachers have been excellent and top caliber musicians themselves. Jampro often served as a safe space for my daughter during some difficult times through the years. They treated her like family and I will forever be grateful. The facility is top notch and every thing you'd expect from a high end studio and more. They even have courses to learn audio production and DJ.
