This place in Reno is a gem. Dod, is a gem. I bought a violin from him in 2000, came back to have…read moreit repaired. His knowledge and passion about his profession is unmatched. He blew me away with his knowledge and recommendations. Even threw in a free viol lesson for me! It is very hard to find this type of quality and care and commitment to one's profession. For one, he answered his phone on a weekend outside of working hours. He was very flexible with meeting me, very friendly, and went out of his way to help me. His prices are probably lower than they should be, he really just cares about his work. He improved the sound of my violin, I didn't even know that could be done. The location threw me off, I wasn't expecting it to be inside of a house. Some of the older photos show it out all. It's no longer at the mall.

There were several issues that needed to be addressed (some of which I was unaware of until his discerning eye pointed them out). Mr. Dodd carefully showed me exactly what needed to be addressed, why, and how he proposed fixing it. About a week later (what?!?!, that never happens!), I picked up my violas and was surprised at how much their tone and action had improved. This is a shop of true professionals. As Mr. Dodd was showing me what work needed to be done on my violas, his associate was busy with a wood chisel, shaping a violin. I've asked various violin/viola players I know, (plus my amazing viola teacher), and they all share the same opinion. Mr. Dodd is a fine man - honest, objective, and trusting. And he runs his business that way. I found that to be true. Dodd Violin Shop has my business. 1. Honest. 2. Competent repair shop. 3. Passionate about their art. Very refreshing...

She has been a part of several amazing bands through Jampro, playing both at their awesome on-site stage and at festivals and businesses here in town. The improvement in her musical talents has been a beautiful and impressive journey that continues to leave me in awe. All of the teachers have been excellent and top caliber musicians themselves. Jampro often served as a safe space for my daughter during some difficult times through the years. They treated her like family and I will forever be grateful. The facility is top notch and every thing you'd expect from a high end studio and more. They even have courses to learn audio production and DJ. I invite anyone to take a tour as you will be wowed by all they offer. The programs are not cheap, but I've found them to be worth every penny and a truly worthy investment in my daughter.

Would you believe in the same 10,000 sq ft. facility there's a full scale production studio complete with top of the line computers, mixing and sound boards, and an isolation room to record vocals? Would you believe that in that same 10,000 sq. ft. facility there's a 500 person capacity theater with a performance stage decked out with state-of-the-art lights, smoke, and sound that's used to host special events and provide student bands with the real deal experience of playing before a live audience? What about if I told you they also had a full scale production lab where you can learn how to produce music and even learn how to DJ on the best digital turntables available? And last but not least, would you believe me if I told you they also have a music retail store with everything you could possibly want or need, including exclusive brands of effects pedals and other equipment? Welcome to Jampro Music Factory. This is seriously a place like no other, with no detail spared, and a passion for providing the best music education experience you can imagine. Close your eyes and picture the quintessential Hollywood recording studio, complete with wood floors, beautifully decorated walls, and big open windows to see what's going on, and that's what you'll find at Jampro. To me it seems like the new businesses that have opened in the last year have really done a lot to elevate the standards of our community. From bars and restaurants, to our local farmers and artisans, and everything in between. It seems like each week I learn about one more business adding to this momentum, and this past week, it was Jampro Music Factory. Thanks to Robert and Ly S., their Yelp photos, check-ins, and reviews, I now know what it's all about and I can't wait to return!

The problem is this store just doesn't stock much of anything. I leave there empty handed more often than not. If you're looking for anything outside what the majority of people use they will absolutely not stock it. They didn't even have finger and thumb picks the last time I was there. No tone bars for dobro/lap steel. No variety in flat picks, no resonator guitars, no real variety when it comes to strings. As a guitar store, I would think they would stock a variety of things guitarists would want to try, especially cheaper stuff like picks and strings. I asked for a manager in person and both refused to come out and speak with me. I will NEVER return to this place. This is not the first time we've had problems. Their service is garbage, and so is their product. Wish I could give zero stars.
