Horrible experience!…read more Full kitchen & bath remodel. We chose Cabinets World SD for the cabinets. Primarily because the line they rep (Fabuwood) had the finish we wanted. Collene does not listen to the customers needs/wants. For example, she insisted the range go on the long wall -- the range would've stuck out into the pathway between two other rooms, which makes no sense. Had to force the design change. Additionally, she makes assumptions about the cabinet placement without checking with the owner(s). Example: cabinets came unfinished/unskinned on some ends because she 'assumed' they were against a wall. In the construction field, there's a process called 'Request for Information' (RFI) to clarify projects. (I'm in the construction industry on the design side.) Don't think she's aware of the purpose of an RFI. They demanded full payment up front. We pushed back on that and made the final payment upon delivery. Should've held back though until everything was unpacked and inspected. Some of the cabinets (Fabuwood) came damaged. Pieces missing, etc. She blamed everyone she could and took no responsibility for anything. It took so long to get all the missing & damaged components that we were considering having our installer move in. Of course, Cabinets World SD would not pay for the installer's extra time. Nor would they cover the additional freight costs from FedEx. The Fabuwood cabinets are OK. I don't think they are worth the premium price we paid and Fabuwood needs a better transport carrier as even some of the replacement cabinets came damaged the second time. All in all there are much better choices for cabinets in San Diego. EDIT: Never complained because I was concerned I'd be left high and dry getting the replacement cabinets, missing pieces, etc. The review stands.

She said some bathroom tiles were on a good deal. After I chose the tiles color I liked, she quoted me $2.99. I asked her to write down the prices , color of vinyl , tiles, counter top ,.. my builder will come to pick them up... Three days after my builders came. they sold them to me for $2.99/sqt. And same day afternoon they called and said they wanted to cancel the order and refund the money due to a their mistake. If I wanted to continue with the purchase, I would have to pay $6.99/sqt. When I complant, they were irresponsible and arbitrarily canceled my order. This has affected the construction progress of two houses. To avoid a similar situation, I strongly advise everyone not to buy from them. They are Chinese, and they lack responsibility and adherence to sales principles.

Before purchasing, I specifically asked whether I would be able to return any unopened material we did not use. I was told yes and that they keep plenty of this flooring in stock, so returning the extra boxes would not be a problem. When the project was finished, I had several unopened boxes left, plus one open box. I even brought back the open box and offered the remaining pieces to them so they could use them as samples. To my surprise, they refused to refund all of the unopened boxes because one box had some slight exterior damage. What bothered me even more was that they still gladly took the box back, even though I received no refund for it. Based on this experience, I did not feel that what I was told before the purchase matched how the return was actually handled. If you want to work with a flooring dealer you can trust, I would recommend shopping around and comparing prices elsewhere. In my experience, their pricing was not the best either, and I would not purchase from them again.

Vivian is in charge of design while Luis is in charge of project management. Vivian came over to my house to take measurements. Within a day or two, I received a quote for the projects. I was surprised how reasonable the proposal was (I asked for another quote from another company and Eco Living was more reasonable and included design services). We met Vivian in person and signed the contract. She is a designer so she helped us with selection of materials for countertop, cabinets, tile and flooring. She was very clear in explaining what we are responsible for purchasing vs what they are providing. She told me not to worry since she will give me links for products to buy which she did. I decided to upgrade quite a few of the selections and cost was also reasonable for the upgrades. After the meeting, they informed me they could start within a few days. I asked if they can finish within 3-1/2 weeks since we were traveling to Europe and Luis guaranteed they would. We agreed and they came on time. Luis is such a hands on project manager, always available via text to answer questions. From inception to completion, he was always stopping by our house daily to check the work. The 2 workers barely spoke English but it was not an issue since we used Google Translate. If I had a question, I would also just text Luis and he would respond immediately. They completed the project ahead of schedule and I was impressed! You would expect issues to occur during construction but all of them were resolved to my satisfaction. Just letting you know that the workers are very hardworking and even work 7 days a week, except during holidays. Please expect dust everywhere during construction but that is part of the process. We just try to clean and dust everyday. Now that they have completed the project, I can now enjoy the remodel. I will definitely use them again when I'm ready to remodel my kitchen and fireplace in a few years. I highly recommend Eco Living Design and Remodeling.
