We thought about forgoing a professional altogether and just doing the iPod thing, but I was afraid that it would stress me out. I received a packet from this one guy with all kinds of crazy rainbow colors and smiley faces and frankly, his voice on the phone scared the crap out of me. We wanted a low-key DJ, not a show-boat. Tom was perfect. He was referred to me by a friend and we communicated briefly by phone & mostly by email. He seemed very professional and his website looked pretty detailed. When we finally met just before the wedding, I'll admit that I was afraid he might be a little too low-key. He is very calm and maybe a little mellow. Not what I had in mind for a DJ. But, we liked him all the same and all that really mattered was that he showed up and played good music. He totally delivered! He wore a nice suit and looked great. Call me shallow but that's important - his head in the background of quite a few of the photos. He was professional and knew what to play to make everyone happy. He also played all of the songs we asked him to, which is not always a given. The reception was non-stop dancing all night. We had a blast. Oh, one other thing. Tom is not cheap but he's not overpriced either. I talked to some people who wanted crazy amounts of money to DJ. Tom was totally reasonable. Another "highly recommend".

We talked to Ron over email and met up with him before the wedding to discuss music options. The website to set everything up was very easy and nice to be able to pick exactly what songs we wanted for different parts of the night so Ron could get a feel for what type of music we were looking for. The music and dancefloor started early on and did not stop! Dan provided the music for both our ceremony and reception, and everything was absolutely perfect. But the perfection began much earlier than the night of our wedding. Throughout the entire process of our wedding planning, Dan was available to meet with us as many times as we wanted and was always available via phone or email. Not only did Dan walk us through every step of the process, but he patiently helped us choose the perfect songs for all parts of our entire night by suggesting different songs/themes based on our preferences and personalities. The last thing I want to comment on is that Dan provided uplighting free of charge for us. When he came to Willowdale, he noticed that it might be a bit better if some uplighting was added. Dan took the initiative to add this for us, and it made the entire reception that much better. Dan was professional and cooperative with song requests, and made sure to keep the flow of the reception going. I could go on and on about Dan's professionalism and genuine care in order to make our wedding the best night of our lives. But all I will say is that even today, almost 5 months after our wedding, our guests are still raving about the music and the ambiance of the wedding. Without Dan, our wedding would not have been nearly as extravagant. Honestly, you don't have to look anywhere else for a wedding DJ. Dan is super personable and is a perfectionist, making sure that all details are taken care of. I cannot say enough about Dan McCarthy and his DJ company. They have truly perfected all aspects!!!!
