There were a few important considerations for our wedding; making sure we threw a fun party was one of them. Thanks to Beat Train and DJ Seth Isaacs we got the awesome party of our dreams. We hired Beat Train for our August 2016 wedding and we cannot say enough about how amazing DJ Seth was. We are still receiving compliments on how much of a fun dance party our wedding was and how DJ Seth was the best Wedding DJ people had heard. Being at an age where a lot of friends are getting married, we have heard a lot of mediocre wedding DJ's. When we started the vendor search ourselves we knew we wanted a professional MC with knowledge and skill in music, and experience with events and weddings. We met with some of the other well reviewed larger wedding companies with 3 character names and we were highly disappointed in their strict music restrictions and their unprofessional behavior. Meeting with Seth and working with Beat Train was miles apart from those companies. During the booking and follow-up meeting process Seth was friendly, responsive, flexible, and willing to work with whatever style and and music choices we were looking for. We loved that we could view Seth's past tracks and set lists on the website to really get to know his style and DJ skill. This helped us develop our specific music requests which Seth listened to and abided by. As far as pricing Beat Train is fairly priced and honestly miles away in skill from other similarly priced DJ's. Day of our wedding Seth came professionally dressed, and was set-up and organized. He professionally MC'ed the wedding and didn't "perform". The music spoke for itself. Seth played all of our requests and expertly mixed songs the whole night; where it wasn't just 30 seconds of a great song nor full plays that make you wish you just brought your own ipod. Seth brought energy and mixed both older songs and newer ones keeping all ages on the dance floor all night. He even went above and beyond on the job, expertly mixing our intro song to specification and working with our venue to play our specific cocktail hour set list that was not part of the services we booked with him. We wish the music and the night never ended! If you are looking for for a DJ that is going to put on a show, lead dances, party games, or do obnoxious monologues (because apparently some DJ's do this and people enjoy it?), then look elsewhere. It you want to have a complete blast at your wedding and have people on the dance floor all night then book with Beat Train and ask for DJ Seth. Best wedding decision we made. read more

We were more than thrilled to have DJ Seth Isaacs at our Boston wedding in November of 2016. We would highly recommend him for anyone looking for an honest, reliable, articulate and professional DJ. Seth was easy to get in touch with leading up to the wedding and quick to respond to our queries. We were planning our wedding from overseas, and we very much appreciated how flexible Seth was in terms of setting up calls and meetings in person when we were visiting Boston. We felt like he went out of his way to accommodate us; it was really important to us that we had certain songs played at our wedding (and equally important that some songs were not played!), and Seth created a simply outstanding playlist that satisfied all of our tastes and requests. My husband is from Ireland, and Seth was able to perfectly intertwine some of our traditional songs and dances into the set list, and our guests literally were on the floor all night. He read the room perfectly, and he knew exactly what would keep our guests smiling and moving. And our guests' ages ranged from 4 to 85 years old! We especially appreciated Seth's recommendations for the type of music we should use during the cocktail hour and meal time, and while we had some suggestions on certain bands, we absolutely loved the additional selections that Seth made. We could not stop smiling during the meal, and our guests even commented on how perfect the music was during the meal. Seth has unbelievable talent and really understands his clients. His professionalism is what sets him apart from many other DJs. He did not try to "steal the show" with jokes or unnecessary chatter between songs. He literally did the announcing he was supposed to do as a DJ (and particularly well, considering we had many traditional and hard-to-prounounce Irish names in our wedding party!) and mixed excellent music without any small talk or those terrible jokes one often hears at other weddings! After the wedding Seth sent us through the full music clips of the songs that he played and also clips of the speeches, which we have very much enjoyed listening to these past few months. It is a fantastic touch and gift to the couple! Seth was an excellent choice, and we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone planning a wedding. read more

To review of our experience with Ari and Beat Train Productions I have to give him praise on two tiers. First is his expansive knowledge of music and impeccable taste, we knew from our first meeting that Ari was not going to be the obnoxious, middle aged, chicken dance, "get your booty on the floor" touting wedding DJ. What a relief. After popping in on his then residency at Zu-Zu we saw first hand his ability to control the crowd and fill the dance floor with quality eclectic tunes. Second was his professionalism throughout the entire wedding planning process. Unlike many of our other vendors Ari was responsive after the first outreach, something we found through the process as a rarity. We never once wondered if he received an email, if he was going to disappear or if he had forgotten who we were. The ultimate praise for Ari was showcased at our actual wedding reception. First of all, he was totally self sufficient, arrived on time, and was playing before i had a chance to think about him, a brides day-of dream come true. At our wedding we had an unfortunate accident occur during the first dance song of the evening. One of our guests fell and was knocked unconscious, an ambulance had to come to the reception site to take care of the matter. Ari like a true pro tuned it down while the situation was being handled. I remember so vividly standing there thinking - "this is it, the night is over, this terrible accident totally killed the vibe and this is how the day will be remembered" - but i should have remembered i hired a professional with expertise in crowd control. As soon as the situation was taken care of Ari got the party started back up and kept it going until the police asked us to shut it down. The was literally a chant for one last song at the end of the night which to me meant we had a party full of happy customers. Ari saved the party, and played a fantastic mix of groovable tunes that pleased our indie music biz friends and our old school family members. I would recommend him to any couple looking for an all night dance party for their wedding day. read more

Katy is the DJ you want. Hands down. We found Beat Train while searching for wedding DJs around Providence/Boston, and after reading their reviews and seeing their pricing, they were immediately on our shortlist. We met with Katy first after being matched with her through Beat Train's process, and within about five minutes we knew we wanted her at our wedding. She is funny, relaxed, professional, extremely responsive, and just genuinely fun to be around. We only had about 2.5 months to plan our wedding, and Katy never once made us feel rushed or pressured. She answered questions ridiculously quickly, helped us with song choices and edits, and somehow remembered all of the tiny details we discussed months earlier. The best part? She felt like a friend, not a vendor. Our guests actually kept asking us afterward how we knew Katy and how long we'd been friends. That's just how naturally she fit in. We're also not dancers. Neither are our families. Katy somehow managed to keep a packed dance floor going ALL NIGHT with people of every age dancing together, alone, and with complete strangers. She absolutely understood our music taste, followed our do-not-play list, played all of our requests, and still handled guest requests without losing the vibe. She was also an excellent MC--clear, funny, enthusiastic, and never awkward or over-the-top. She kept everything moving without ever making the reception about herself. And when someone accidentally knocked out the power to the DJ setup during the reception, Katy immediately jumped into action, fixed it, reset everything, and got the music back up so quickly that most people probably didn't even realize what happened. Meanwhile, the crowd just kept singing along to the song that had been playing. It was honestly kind of legendary. We have already had family members and coworkers planning weddings ask us for Katy's information. So, if you're wondering whether we recommend her: abso-f*cking-lutely. Katy was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Book her. read more

My wife and I were married last month (June, '09). We were planning a wedding on Cape Cod from Miami, and had 6 months to do it - no easy feat. Not knowing any DJs in the area, I began my search about 4 months out. I literally spoke to or e-mailed close to 40 DJ's in the area. Most were cheesy, ego-centric, out of touch or bossy or way over priced. Then I found Ari at Beat Train. His web site was hip, and we clicked on the first call and his prices were reasonable. He went out of his way to provide suggestions (we had no idea what song to be announced to), and trielessly provided suggestions. He also found and purchased all the music that we requested that he didn't already have in his collection. We were extremely busy upon arrival on the Cape - only 5 days before the wedding. In order to save us some time, Ari went out of his way to drive to the Cape to meet with us personally and discuss our expectations for the party. His suggestions for music were spot on. The wedding reception was a amazing. (I'm going to send him some pics of the party to post on his website) We provided some input on what we wanted to hear, but really left the majority of the decisions up to him. Our only requirement was he keep the dance floor packed. His dinner music was perfect - elegant, fun, and at the right volume. Once we started dancing, it didn't end. Ari read the crowd perfectly. In fact, we paid for him to stay an extra hour becuase we were having so much fun. The dance floor was packed the entire night. He did an excellent job making announcements, but didn't feel the need to be the center of attention. Further, he was immidiately responsive to every request (at least from the bride and groom), be it for the next song to be played, or to wish someone a happy birthday. He will not give up the mic for rogue/drunk toast makers without prior permission. I can't say enough about Ari as a DJ. He truly made the night. I would highly reccomend him (and have) for any future event. read more

Amazing company, amazing DJs!! (long review because I am so happy with this company...) I work at a public school in Boston. We threw a dance to celebrate students who had accomplished great attendance throughout the year. However, with a low budget we worried we would not be able to provide a DJ. The Beat Train Production Company was generous enough to offer a DJ to donate his time to help make our dance special for the students. We had two dances for older and younger students, DJ Nick happily DJ'd both dances and was excited to do it for the students. Throughout the process DJ Nick was extremely cooperative and prompt when responding to all of our emails. He supplied cool lighting because he thought the students would enjoy it and even allowed the students to come on stage to make music suggestions and show the older students his equipment (the middle schoolers were very interested in his mixing board). Not only was Nick a pleasure to work with, he did an excellent job with his music choices. He played appropriate songs, but ones that the students regularly listened to and enjoyed. He tailored his music to the ages of both dances, playing an entirely different playlist for the middle-schoolers than he did for the elementary aged students. I could tell Nick put a lot of thought into his playlists, even though he was donating his time. All of the students were so impressed by the dance claiming their dance was "like a club" and "so fun!" We are so thankful and appreciative towards Beat Train Productions and DJ Nick because he really made their dance something that will be legendary to this school and to these students. I can't thank Nick enough, and I would recommend this company to anyone! read more

We had an amazing experience with Beat Train for our wedding in June 2015. After meeting other DJs, they truly stood out. They were quick to respond, reasonably priced and professional - it's clear they hold themselves to a high standard. We researched all the DJs they had available and were able to have a meet and greet with Spencer -- this gave us insight into his style so we felt even more comfortable booking him. Since we booked pretty far in advance (about a year), we had sporatic contact for a while (which we knew beforehand), and then about 2 months out from the big day. Spencer sent us a form to fill out, which thoroughly assessed all our music taste and preferences, as well as the agenda for the day of the wedding and who else he may need to connect with. He was awesome about coordinating with our Wedding Day coordinator and photographer to ensure they were all on the same page. About a week or two before the wedding, we met again in person to do a run-through of the day and evening. I cannot explain in enough detail the thoughtfulness that went into our music -- Spencer truly listened to what we asked for and made it perfect. We still have guests asking about our DJ and raving about the music from the entire day - it's literally the first thing people remember and speak about. He read the crowd perfectly, knowing when to play something new, old, low key, etc. I couldn't give a higher recommendation to use Beat Train and Spencer for any event you can hire them for! Awesome experience. read more

We worked with Seth for our September wedding in Provincetown, MA. He was great! We are based in NYC and thus actually didn't get a chance to meet him until the day of! This would have caused much more concern if Seth hadn't been so attentive and available by phone in the weeks/months leading up to our wedding. After a fairly lengthy talk a couple weeks before the wedding day, we felt confident that everything would go smoothly. And it did. As far as the (all-important) music, Seth was extremely receptive to our expectations -- he definitely hit all our "must play" songs and stayed away from our "do not play"s. We may have gone overboard when listing our "maybe play" songs -- that is, songs that we really liked, listed with the goal of giving Seth an idea of our overall taste -- but it was clear that Seth had a great feel for our vibe and would have succeeded even without much direction. (Note: Beat Train Productions provided all sorts of helpful forms, so we weren't re-creating the wheel when conveying our preferences and vision for the day.) On the day of our wedding, Seth was a treat to work with and was very much in control (a reassuring presence, given the stress of the day). We wanted to emphasize dancing in our reception, and sure enough, the dance floor was packed for hours on end. If Seth is any indication, these people really know what they're doing! Thank you!! read more

I, for better or worse, am somewhat of a music snob - and often find myself trying to commandeer the music no matter the situation I'm in. Plainly put, I take music seriously, I produce a monthly podcast, have played in bands, was the Music Director of my college radio station, and DJ occasionally around town - so when it came to finding a DJ for my own wedding I approached the entire process with loads of cynicism and trepidation. We met with a few "DJ's" prior to Ari - and after each meeting my fears of not finding someone who'd meet my expectations grew exponentially. That said, a few minutes after meeting with Ari I knew he'd be perfect, and he absolutely was. There was no need whatsoever to write down a "Do Not Play List" as I was in full trust of his skill and judgement, and after briefly talking with him I knew he knew, loved, and respected music as much if not more than I - and he didn't let me, my wife, or our equally picky friends and family down the slightest. He read the crowd perfectly and it didn't matter if it was the cocktail hour, dinner, or the reception, he always knew what type of music people would dig on, and most importantly , he never tried to force anything on the floor- he was perfect - and I'd suggest him for any party or event you'd want a pro to DJ. He was cordial, professional, and attentive to any details we asked for, couldn't have asked for more. read more

(Daniel + Romina) wrote: We sincerely wanted to take the time out after an incredible wedding year we had (10/18/2015) and thank everyone involved in the production and celebration of our amazing, incredible, truly unique wedding day. Our spectacular day that was topped off by our first class entertainment group BEAT TRAIN PRODUCTIONS at the Chart House NJ. Hosting the event one of the best artist in the already talented Beat Train group of DJ was!! SAM TURNER!! . We first found out about Sam and Beat Train through sites like this one and other sources, we heard one or two samples and we knew from the start this would be our DJ and entertainment source for our Big day! The staff was amazing at Beat Train from first contact. The staff at Beat Train exceeded our expectations, they guided us throughout the process start to finish and made it easy and stress free. As for Sam we arranged a meeting went through our music choices witch were from every genre and Sam the magician made everything work and blend together. As for the Event the only complaint was that our guest wanted to keep dancing all night and did not want it to end! Our guest had a great time and they all loved Sam Turner and applauded his talent!! We will look forward to using Sam again in any future functions.. Thank you Sam Great Job!! Daniel + Romina read more

Gina was an absolutely incredible DJ for our wedding this summer. From our first call, they brought the energy we were looking for and maintained the same excitement, connection to us and positive energy that made planning incredibly easy, and our wedding truly magical. They grabbed on to our musical tastes, and cultivated an immaculate playlist to keep the energy high and vibes fun all night long. In addition, they provided some helpful feedback in finding the perfect song for us to end our night on and helped edit our first dance song to the perfect length while maintaining its integrity. Gina was a fantastic MC throughout the reception, and a vital part to ensuring sound ran easily across the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception. For example, a few days before our wedding we had to double check the audio equipment would work with our venue, which was a tad anxiety inducing. Gina stepped in and communicated clearly with our venue and planner to ensure the equipment they had would work seamlessly - and it did! That was a massive help and made us feel incredibly at ease. Gina was a great partner throughout our wedding, and we couldn't recommend them more highly!! The team at Beat Train is also really helpful, communicative, and nice! An A+ company to work with. read more

We booked with Kara at Beat Train initially for 2020. We had to postpone to 2021 due to COVID. Through all of our planning everyone we spoke with was so helpful, genuine and responsive. When we needed to make changes there was never a lapse in communication and everything was done so seamlessly. We had a form that we had access to for personalized information closer to the date. This really helped us stay organized as our heads were spinning in the final months near the wedding and we really appreciated the attention to detail. Also, as someone who works in the wedding industry I am always appreciative of people who are proactive about covering the needs of their clients in advance. While we weren't able to meet Kara in person prior to the wedding due to the pandemic, our phone conversations and zoom meetings left us feeling assured that she was the perfect fit for us through the entire process. It was so important for us to not only have "top 40" music at our wedding and Kara's eclectic taste was just what we were looking for. She understood our vibe and was able to keep our guests excited throughout the night! Beat Train and Kara have their process mastered and I can't say enough about the role they played into making our wedding so perfect! read more

We hired DJ Brendan Lau for our wedding in Gloucester in July 2023. Having been guests at many weddings, we knew what we definitely didn't want, but finding what we did want felt challenging. The best thing that happened to our wedding was DJ Brendan. We *cannot* say enough good things about him. Months later, we still have friends bringing up our wedding DJ in everyday conversation. Brendan's commitment and skill likely surpasses weddings, but we are so thankful we had the opportunity to work with him. Brendan met with us multiple times leading up to our wedding to make sure he understood our likes/dislikes, the vibe we were going for, and what we hoped for from our DJ. Brendan far exceeded our expectations. Once the dance floor opened, we never left-there was no time! His mixes were so seamless and allowed just enough of each song to be amped that the song was playing, time to enjoy it and dance, and then before you could blink another banger was on. He hit the nail on the head for our wedding. Not to mention, it seemed like he was having fun, too and truly brought the perfect energy. We'd never been to a wedding with such an amazing DJ and think everyone should hire him. DJ Brendan Lau was a highlight, if not the best part of our wedding. read more

We worked with Jeff Durand for our wedding in Boston, and it was a truly wonderful experience! Beat Train had been recommended to me by a trusted friend, and after reading some bios and viewing some videos on the website we knew Jeff was our guy. Jeff has an extremely positive attitude, is incredibly knowledgeable about music, and is a very skilled DJ. My husband and I have very different styles when it comes to music, but when we first met with Jeff it was clear that he understood both of our styles and had great ideas for how to incorporate our tastes, while also pleasing the crowd. We had some complicated sound set up to deal with, since we had live performances during the ceremony and during the reception, and Jeff was incredibly accommodating and helped ensure everything worked and sounded great. He really put our minds at ease! As for his set, it was amazing! From the second he started spinning the dance floor was totally packed. He played a great variety of music, and it kept people of all ages on the floor all night. We had people come up to us at brunch the next day and remark about how excellent our DJ was--and we could not agree more! We are so thankful we worked with Jeff for our wedding and cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

If you are looking for a DJ who will make sure your guests are dancing the whole night, then Jeff G. is who you need to hire immediately! We were a bit worried that our international, multi-cultural guest list would not be invested in dancing because they had different musical reference points. Jeff was not afraid of the challenge and blew our expectations out of the water. All our guests were dancing the whole night and having a blast. It was amazing! We really loved working with Jeff. He was up for our crazy ideas and had lots of tips from his substantial experience that worked to create the vibe we wanted. He was always available to jump on a Zoom call to answer our questions and was so professional and prepared. During the wedding, we asked Jeff to play an international song that he was unfamiliar with. He said no problem, pulled it up and then offered a suggestion on when was best to play it to keep the momentum of the party. The impromptu addition went off without a hitch. We could not recommend working with Jeff more. His knowledge, energy, and preparedness made the most important part of the event a huge success - an outcome that would not have been possible without his invaluable collaboration and expertise. read more

We found Beat Train after searching through several wedding vendor sites. After reading all the DJ profiles, we chose Omari. Omari was calm, knowledgable, and prepared throughout the whole process. He took our requests in the planning meeting and was able to incorporate the obscure song choices we had for processional and recessional music. He also accommodated our last minute changes. My fiance and I love music and really went overboard with our wedding playlist. We had a separate list for cocktail hour music, which we appreciated Omari sticking to during that part of the reception. We also had a lot of songs we wanted to hear during the dancing portion of the night and we trusted Omari to change course to keep people on the dance floor. Not only did he play all of our favorites, but he remixed songs' intros and outros, and included other hits that everyone loved! We danced almost the entire reception! People were sore the next day. Omari also accommodated requests from my nieces and a few other special guests that we approved. He managed to keep everyone happy from the youngest guests to the oldest, but especially me and my fiance. We would 100% recommend Omari if you are looking to to get people to the dance floor! read more
