best hummus this review is about their hummus. probably the best I've had. and interesting too. my favorite was probably Hummus Yerushalmi which was beefy and well spiced. Second fav was probably the Turkish Hummus which had incredible buttery and garlicy flavor. Even the vanilla hummus (Hummus Tehina) was excellent as well - classic hummus topped with a herby tahini. The other things we tried was great as well. Gem salad was fresh with a good mixture of tangy and crunch. Wonderful Mediterranean spot with great hummus! We did the tarfit which comes with the hummus sampler, one salad/mezze and one entree each. We got the tehina, pitryot which has mushroom and the Turkish one which is served warm with crispy garlic. All of them were delicious and flavorful. Pita was warm and fresh. If you prefer a thinner pita, this is on the thicker side but is the classic pita at all the Solomonov restaurants. The latkes wet delicious with tangy labneh. The fattoush salad was alright but a bit sweet so wouldn't get it again. For the vegetarian entrees, I enjoyed the cauliflower more than the squash. decided to check out this relatively new place from the owners of Zahav and Goldie and it was fabulous! Sat at the bar and had a nonalcoholic ginger soda, which was really delicious. I had the baby gem salad in green goddess dressing, fabulous, I mopped up all the dressing with pita bread! Then had the Turkish hummus, which was ridiculously good. It is hot, as in straight out of the oven, and smothered with brown butter, toasted garlic, what could be better? It was so so good. For dessert I had the tahini ice cream sandwich, which was small, in a good way since I was pretty full, and totally delicious. It reminded me of the tahini milkshakes from Goldie. My food tour of Philly was filled with some amazing bites and Dizengoff was surely one of them. We made a reservation for lunch, which I think was a good call as the restaurant was decently full. We opted for the beef hummus to start and each got lamb Schwarma platters. We also got a side of fries and pickles because why not? Everything was absolutely divine. The flavors of these dishes were out of this world, with my showstopper being how good the pita was. It was the most perfect vechicle to scoop everything up and enjoy. The platter is quite a lot of food for $16 so I think it's a great value for the quality. I never had "old" Dizengoff, so I only know new and improved Dizengoff and all I can say is: lucky me! I had the pleasure of dining in for lunch with my boyfriend last week and had a really excellent time. Food is delicious, service was friendly and prompt, and prices are right where you'd expect for higher end mediterranean, which is what this is. It's the Solomonov pita and hummus you know and love, but with some fun additions, like the mushroom hummus we enjoyed as an appetizer. SO delicious and obviously what leftover dreams are made of. Options for lunch are limited, which I don't hate. You're basically choosing lamb, chicken, or eggplant in either a platter or a pita. I went with the chicken schnitzel platter and Mike went with the lamb pita, and he ordered correctly all around. The chicken schnitzel was fairly underwhelming in my opinion. A fried cutlet that was lacking the knockout flavor I've come to expect from this family of restaurants. I had to ration out my pickle to add some balance and moisture to the otherwise bland "star" of this dish. The cucumber tomato salad is outstanding and the tehina that comes with the chicken platter was appreciated. I did try a bite of the lamb pita and would 100% order that next time. The design and brightness of this restaurant is also where it shines, with a gorgeous bar area that would make for an excellent corporate happy hour or lunch meeting, and really adds some nice color to this otherwise fairly grey portion of Sansom. Apparently, this restaurant used to be a small, mostly take-out lunch locale. Not anymore! Funky dining room with a beautiful bar and great vibes. If you've never tried orange wine, this is the place to do so (Trebbiano Spoletino Orange). So crisp and refreshing, served chilled. The skins of the grapes are what makes it orange in color. We love all-things-hummus, and we couldn't sample the menu fast enough. The Masabacha Hummus and Turkish Hummus were delicious. The soft and pillowy pita bread accompaniment enhanced our love. For our second course, we sampled the Petrozilla. We loved the crunch and tang of the pomegranates. Entrees included the Chicken Schnitzel and the Smoked Cabbage. Who knew cabbage could be so delicious? We realized we needed an additional item, so the Moroccan Cigars were up next (three to an order... the four of us made it work). We stopped in this weekend for lunch & found much like all his other spots the atmosphere bright & lively, the staff & service was on point & friendly and the food was well prepared & delicious. Our only slight complaint is that like at most of his other restaurants there seem to be an insufficient number of restrooms with always a wait as staff utilize them as well & most times it is them who are exiting the facilities. My friend took me to Zahav over a decade ago and it was one of the best meals I've had in Philly with their delicious, vast, and affordable tasting menu. We took an impromptu trip to Philly and times are different now where reservations for Zahav were not doable. So we checked out Dizengoff. They were busy on a Friday evening as expected. We had reservations and were seated right away. Service was excellent. Imagine being a tired mama trying to entertain two rambunctious kids while traveling, and the moment when the hostess brought crayons and coloring material and my heart was so grateful and I should have gave her a hug! Our server was also nice and attentive. Food wise, they make good hummus. We ordered the hummus sampler and even though I'm not a hummus fan, the selections were very tasty. My favorite was the Yerushalmi with the seasoned beef, nutty pine nuts, and parsley. My kids loved their warm pita bread and ate so much of it. I also loved the Moroccan cigars as it was also delicious with the seasoned beef and the hot honey does add to this dish. The chicken schnitzel was good and a good selection for our kids. It wasn't overpowered with spices and crispy on the outside while tender and juicy on the inside. The whole fried dorade was grand to look at and to eat. I enjoyed the crispy skin and the fish was flaky. The apple puree that it came with was perfect to complement the less seasoned fish. Overall, I loved our appetizers. The people working here are the kindest most accommodating restaurant employees and went above and beyond to accommodate my need to sit outdoors due to my disability. Service was a 100/10. A wonderful birthday brunch. Quick service. We started our brunch with the hummus sampler that had the Hummus Tehina, Turkish Hummus and Hummus Yerushalmi. The fresh pita made this even better. So smooth and savory, exactly they way hummus should be. Amazing!! Three of us enjoyed the Israeli breakfast, and my daughter's boyfriend had the chicken schnitzel. The Israeli breakfast is a very simple dish that comes with Za'atar Omelette, Labneh, Schug, Olives, Chopped Salad and Pita. I will have to admit that the "omelette" was a bit disappointing. While I understand the chef leans on the side of simplicity, this might be a shade too simple for most palettes. Aside from the excellent Labneh and Schug, I was a bit envious of the Chicken Schnitzel. I will remember this for next time. All in all, it was a really nice brunch. Then the check came. I normally don't examine the fine print of a brunch check, but in this case I should of. It turns out that they automatically add the gratuity to your bill, regardless of party size. Unfortunately, I didn't see this until AFTER I paid the check. So the wait staff got a double tip. I'm a great tipper and appreciate any restaurant that is trying to make sure their servers earn a living wage. However, adding the automatic gratuity while using a system that allows the customer to add a gratuity is...well...sleazy for a restaurant of this caliber. Make sure the customer is well informed, or just stop doing this. This cost them two stars. We had a lovely brunch, but the payment tactics were more than disappointing. I had a great dinner at the new Dizengoff last night! The Turkish Hummus was my favorite part of the meal. I hadn't ever had this before and liked it better than regular hummus! The texture was really interesting and the flavors were bold and delicious. I also loved the non alcoholic hibiscus frozen Lemonana. The squash salad was fresh and flavorful. The chicken schnitzel was crispy as were the French fries and the tehina ketchup added some great flavor to them as well. We finished the meal with the vegan tehina-date ice cream sandwhich was was the perfect size and we couldn't even tell it was vegan! I'm excited to come back and try some more things. A note that there was an issue where the tax showed up incorrectly (much more was charged than the typical 8% for food in Philly) on our bill and once we mentioned it, it was taken care of immediately which was appreciated! read more

Dizengoff was near my hotel where I stayed in downtown Philadelphia while I was on vacation in May 2023. I was so excited to try the place looking at the reviews. Their menu is limited and includes mostly hummus options that come with just 1 pita. I found it expensive. The hummus/pita/added veggies tasted as good as what I get in any other decent place. I was so disappointed when I got to know they don't have falafels on the menu which we usually find in similar places. The owners are related to another popular place Goldie (vegan). The next time when I visited (in August), the place was closed and their instagram page says they are temporarily closed as they are looking to expand. Although the place is small, there was a classy vibe altogether. I hope to visit them the next time I am in the area, hopefully when they have a few more options. read more

I honestly would have loved to leave this drink, locked in the mall. For $15 it tasted like soda. I did not taste any tequila. Where was the za'atar?! Overpriced and underwhelming. Endive salad was supposed to have a green goddess tehina dress. Where was the green goddess? All I tasted was tehina. It was also very oily. The chicken schnitzel was tasty but overly salty. I kid you not I drank two bottles of water when I got home. I also ordered a side rice pilaf (where was the dill?) To accompany the chicken. We ordered the full dinner for $48 per person, which included three types of hummus, tuna and Moroccan cigars, garlic chicken, and lamb--pure perfection. I have to highlight the hummus again! We tried the Turkish hummus (with brown butter, crispy garlic, and urfa pepper, served in a small hot iron skillet--unique and absolutely delicious), the original, and the pitryot (a must-try for mushroom lovers like us!). The hummus and pita were honestly the best we've ever had. A few words about the Moroccan cigars--I'm usually not a fan, but at Dizengoff, they were so good that even I loved them!
