    Chicken sandwich
    Candace R.

When I tell yall I had the BEST chicken sandwich from here...im so serious! The bun is soft, the chicken is juicy and flavorful, and all the toppings that come in it pair together so well. Amazing chicken sandwich. I was able to come in and place my order immediately. Two of my friends ordered fish sandwiches and they loved them as well. The man at the register was really kind. I took off a start only because it was super hot inside the establishment. The dining area is pretty large and there's plenty of open space. It's just hot in there. The parking lot also fills up pretty quick and it's kinda small but there's street parking on the side.

After placing my order on DoorDash I waited about an hour for the order to arrive, per the expected wait time. I wanted to try a few things and save some for later. I ordered the red snapper with fries. The red snapper is slightly cornmeal battered, but barely. I saw it on some pieces of fish and even then it was only in one area or so. Thank goodness I really like fish because it was tolerable, but there really isn't any flavor to it. It was dry too. Same with the fries - it lacked salt and ketchup also wasn't included in the bag. Throughout eating I kept wondering why there wasn't any tartar sauce. The hot sauce added some flavor to the fish though, I will say that. Tartar sauce should always be included. The hush puppies are hush puppies. Good. It's also the only thing I finished. I wish they came with a sauce even if only tartar sauce. The macaroni and cheese isn't classic, but it was okay. I'd still consider it Mac n cheese , but I do prefer down south baked macaroni and cheese with those crispy corners of cheese where the macaroni is a little browned on top in certain areas. Candied yams. yum! I'm happy to have that for later. I was ready for that banana pudding I ordered, too! I received yellow chocolate cake. It was Duncan Hines good, but not what I ordered.

Expense a$$ Cole slaw..ordered via door dash has weird after taste $almost $5 not worth it

Order via DD. I would not order Cole slaw has odd aftertaste Fish was good although I perfer mine to have more seasoning. Fries were soggy and bread was stale

food with a lot of bang for your buck but on the other side customer service sucks. Check your order inside is usually pretty clean.

This place has been around for awhile and comes highly recommended by locals. A friend and I went…read morehere on a Monday afternoon. The staff was cordial and friendly, and the chicken-themed decor, charming. Now it IS a chicken joint, the go-to chicken spot for my full carnivore friend. He loves them for their chicken, their inexpensive menu and their large portions. I'm mostly pescatarian, though I do sometimes cheat with bacon. (I always feel SO guilty afterwards too!) I ordered the honey mustard salad with bacon and no chicken. My friend ordered the chicken Mac n cheese and tater tots. The bill came up to $30, and the portions were good on on the salad, GREAT on the tater tots and decent on the chicken mac. I can't speak personally on the chicken but my friend says it's amazing. I tasted some of his Mac n cheese with no chicken, and it was really good and flavorful, nice and cheesy. I tasted his tater tots. They were plentiful, well-seasoned and fried to golden perfection, with a nice crunch. I ate all of my salad. My friend couldn't finish his chicken Mac or his tater tots and was happy to be able to take them to go for another meal. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place.

I have been here twice and it's been pretty run of the mill. I would say the chicken they use for…read morethe sandwiches...and probably the strips....and probably the salad, is actually really good. It was hot and thick and juicy when it came out. The fries were decent, but likely just some standard frozen fries. The ranch was also really good, but $.50 each small sized cup. My biggest gripe was the service and the state of the restaurant. In the booth we sat in there was an electrical outlet is hanging out of the wall and the booths are in need of cleaning. We had to use the bathroom, and the soap was out. The staff member brought a new one, but didn't know how to install it so it just sat on top of paper towels. Not a huge deal but bruh, figure it out. The guy was nice enough, but just sat and watched his phone when no one was at counter. There was also another guy, maybe from the kitchen (?) hanging out behind the counter sometimes as well. All while tables needed wiping, the bus tub was FULL with dishes, or either of them could have tried to get the soap installed. If there was no one at counter or food to cook it was stand around and stare at our phones. It's just sad Just a subpar experience for as much as food costs these days. Train the staff to stay busy and know how to bus tables and clean. And if you ever order the BLT chicken sandwich make sure to ask for no BBQ sauce. Yuk.

I knew it was gonna be fire when I smelled it being cooked, but when Jamea said try this before you go, it was confirmed. You don't ask people to try your food in front of you if it ain't fire lol. 10/10 flavor wise on both plates. Noodle portions are large enough to share but you're going to want to eat the wings alone; they're so good you won't want to share, so get plenty. All orders are to go, but you might just want to eat it in the car it's so good. And expect to wait the time you would for a one woman show holding it down (POP). It's in the deep East, and that is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. ESO ambiance - check. All I can say is you definitely want to try Try Dat. Located (usually) on the corner of Seminary & Mac Arthur in front of the Valero, you might just pass by this unassuming (but beautifully colored & vibey) food truck without thinking twice, and you'd be missing a true gem. The menu has a surprising, but not at all overwhelming, selection for being in a food truck, and Miss Jamea (The Boss with the Sauce) does not play at all with these flavors. Follow @try_thisbaby on IG for location or call to double-check before coming.

The chicken was fried to perfection super crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The fries came hot and seasoned. I LOVE THE BOSS SAUCE.
