The service was great let me start there and the food came out within 10 minutes of us ordering . Now for the taste . The collards were pretty good and the beans and catfish was decent . I've have a lot of BBQ and this wouldn't make it to my top 10 at all the brisket was terrible someone tasted like corned beef or an overcooked boiled beef

The Receipt.

I've never written a review on anything before, I have eaten at Dixie Bones for years. Today I ordered online the rib plate (adding 2 extra ribs) with mac&cheese, collard greens and upscaled from a bun to the cornbread. Wow what a dissapointment, the ribs easily pulled off the bone, but was over-cooked (dry). The collards were not the wet collards I was used to, I chewed the greens until I had to spit it out looking like Skoal tobacco product. The Mac&Cheese was extremely cheesy, creamy, but lack taste. I paid $37.14 for a wish rib plate (oh $5.22 was a tip). I use to brag about Dixie Bones. I'll have to find a new Rib spot. I hope the local SQUIRRELS like RIBS.

I really do like this place. The people who come here, the staff who take care of you, and the food are all excellent. However, what I don't like are the prices and the horrible idea of a la carte. For a family of four, one will spend no less than $60-$70. What makes this meal so expensive is that every main item on the menu is a la carte. This means that if you want a side with your meal, you have to pay extra. I do not like this culinary idea of nickel and diming patrons. However, on the positive side, I promise that you will get full from such an expensive meal. Their BBQ is very tasty! What I like about their food is that you can tell everything is fresh and not franchise (BTW, the baked potato is a meal by itself). Overall, as I mentioned, I really like this BBQ place (5-Stars); I personally think it's the best in town. The prices and the a la carte menu, however, I can't get behind (2.5-Stars). If you go, you will love it, but just know that you might not love the price. Enjoy.

it is terrible this is the 3rd time I've given this place a try and this is NOT AMERICAN BBQ at all. The brisket is overcooked and very very dry to the point where it hurts to swallow. I really am considering opening a BBQ spot bc this should be illegal. My feeling are very hurt especially after spending $20 on this atrocity ‍

Rib Plate. Sides -Mac & Cheese and Greens. Not worth $21.

Dixie bones was recommended to me so I decided to give it a try. I love good BBQ, especially ribs. That is typically my go to anytime I try out a new bbq spot. Feel like if you can nail the ribs the other items are likely to be pretty good. I ordered the rib plate, which is 3 ribs 2 sides and a bun. If you want corn bread there is an extra charge. Total for this plate is over $20. I was a little caught off by the price, but do understand that prices have gone up due to the pandemic. Not sure if these were the prices prior to. Anyway...for that price I was expecting this meal to blow me away. Got home and was slightly disappointed from the start, as the 3 ribs that I had were very small. Weren't very meaty at all. If you are going to serve a meal with 3 ribs, they should really be a good size rib. My two sides were the Mac and cheese and greens. Greens in my opinion were too sweet but the Mac and cheese was pretty decent. I know everyone has their own opinion on what good is for them when it comes to bbq, but for me this wasn't my thing.

We were in the area, so we decided to drop in for lunch. I liked the selection. My kid ordered a loaded baked potato and my husband and I both got 2 meat combos and subbed a bun for cornbread. I really liked that samples were provided. It really helped us make a decision. My daughter's potato was really good. I got pulled chicken and brisket w/ muddy spuds and cabbage. The sides were really good, but the meats were dry. Definitely needs sauce. My husband got catfish and sausage w/ muddy spuds and collards. He really liked all of his food. The catfish was ok to me. He liked the cornbread and I did not. I like mine a little sweeter. To go drinks were provided as well without asking and I really appreciated it.

They're ribs, fried chicken, fried fish are good, potatoes salad has an ok taste but the potatoes need to cook a little longer.

I don't know what's in the Mac and cheese that inhibits all self control, but I'm into it.

They offered it with lettuce, tomato and mayo (bologna burger) but I couldn't imagine that. Size was great, mustard sauce was good, bun was different...and I wanted to love the bologna sandwich thinking it would bring back childhood feel good memories or give me the taste of a hot dog and it didn't. When dipped in the mustard sauce minus the bread it was just ok. They are still in the beginning stages and don't have a full menu of offerings yet. The service is fast, but depending on how many people order before you. I do see a lot of take out order (or pre-order (assuming)). The portion is about right. If you ask me what's the different between big franchise BBQ and local, I think it is the quality of service and time to cook. Depending on your perspective of BBQ, the prices are toward high end. There are many option on the menu, but maybe too many options. The full plates is over $30 with 1/2 lbs meat and two side dishes. Parking is easy to find. Overall great experience. I was hoping they have a brisket w/o the bun.

From the outside, it looked decent enough to warrant a stop, and since it's right next door to Grinder's Seafood (seafood lovers, your review is coming next), I figured why not make the trip worthwhile? When I walked in, three ladies were sitting at a small table, and one immediately got up to greet me and take my order. After checking out the menu, I decided on the rib and chicken platter--which does not come with sides--and the rib dinner with green beans and sweet potatoes. Of course, I couldn't resist adding an extra side of potato salad. While waiting, I took in the atmosphere. Dale's has more of a country store vibe than anything fancy, but that just made me think all the real effort was going straight into the food. And clearly, it was. My order was prepared and packed up quickly, but I didn't get the full experience until I made it home--and MAN! The portion sizes were huge. Definitely enough to get your money's worth. The ribs were tender, the chicken was perfectly charred and seasoned, and the sides absolutely delivered. That potato salad especially? Spot on. Dale's may be tucked away in old Indian Head, but it's absolutely worth the trip. If you're in the mood for hearty portions, flavorful barbecue, and no-frills comfort food, this spot deserves a visit. I'll definitely be back for the pork BBQ. Enjoy!
