I absolutely love this nail salon. The workers are so warm and welcoming and always take their time to make sure your nails come out looking fabulous. They have been there for me on my bad days and welcome me with a warm smile, brownies/madeleines and a warm cup of tea. They deal with me being indecisive and give me new ideas to try out- all of which I have absolutely loved. I've been coming here for almost 2 years now and they make me feel so loved- I hold off getting my nails done elsewhere because they are just that amazing. Thank you Nora! Love you gals! This place is a gem! I got a gel mani at a different place and hated it so much so I came here and the ladies here really fixed it up for me. I could tell they cared a lot in making it perfect. It did take a bit tho so it might not be the place for you if you want the nails done in 30 min. But overall highly recommend! read more

This is my favorite spot i have been coming to for years since i work around the corner at Kaiser. Its very clean and the ladies know what they are doing. They offer water, tea and delicious little cookies for everyone. Lisa and Nora , are the best ...they really clean clean your nails . Lisa can get any ingrown nail out ...if your not a baby..lol.... I really recommend this place . It's a bit pricey but worth it because the polish stays on and does not chip .. I honestly feel at home when I'm here... please give this place a try ... read more

They all spend quality time making sure my nails are at a level of perfection and they have never once made me feel bad if I felt like something needed a little more filing or if I asked for a different color or something etc. All of these professionals are so willing to create an amazing experience and literally that's what I feel I'm paying for. I booked a dip powder manicure on 9/3 and upon arrival was greeted immediately and had my temperature taken. They put a plastic poncho over my clothes for protection as well as a face shield in addition to my mask. They are following all COVID-19 security measures and I felt extremely comfortable! They are doing the best they can under the current circumstances and I was thrilled to be able to get my nails done and support them. There are several dip powder color options available and they also offer gel polish color over dip powder base on the nails which I hadn't heard of before. I chose a gel color on dip powder base because there were more color options. The nail tech (I think Lisa?) took her time, shaped my nails perfectly, and did an incredible job! She asked me several times if I was OK with the length, shape, and thickness of the powder. My nails have held up perfectly after almost a week and I look forward to going back soon! So I had to drop off my dry-cleaning and Yelped nearby Divisadero Nails for a desperately overdue mani/pedi. Had I not made an appointment in advance, I would've walked out: The place is dirty and just one glance at the baseboards was enough. The decor is complete with faded & outdated 1980's era nail-art posters on Pepto-Bismol pink walls. But I was in a time-crunch and I made the appointment so I stayed and hoped for the best. The two ladies who worked on my mani/pedi were clearly talking about me in Vietnamese and whatever they were saying, it was not good: They'd say something and then one would look at me and the other laughed. This went on the entire 35 minutes I sat there; it was uncomfortable. The whole time, I kept channeling that Seinfeld episode when George's father eavesdrops in the salon and yells at them in Vietnamese for mocking their clients. Yeah, it was like that. If it weren't so dirty, cramped and strange (a woman next to me had her eyebrows waxed while she sat in the "spa pedicure" chair having her nails done - really?) I was hoping - really hoping beyond hope - that this customer insisted on doing it all at once because she was pressed for time and this wasn't "how they do things at Divisadero Nails" because it was so bizarre. I'm just glad this woman wasn't on her way to a warmer clime otherwise we might've all been party to a mani-pedi/simultaneous vajayjay waxing. It was all so weird. I won't be back. read more

This place is open after work hours and will take walk ins. Additionally, they accept credit cards with a $15 minimum and cash tip. The good thing is that they have an assortment of colors for gel and regular polish. I was so happy that they had several chrome colors (gel) and im thinking about getting the forest green color next time. I got the #3 (brown/maroon chrome). I came on friday evening (with no appt) and they were able to take me in with no problem. Mine chipped within the next day and i called to see if they can fix it. Turn out, they had forgotten to apply the other top coat on it---no big deal, as long as they can fix it. I camw back on Monday afternoon and she welcomed me back and apologized. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Just accountability alone makes me a happy customer. Thanks for fixing my nails, they look even better than the first time. read more

Just got my nails done and I am so happy with the results. I came here the first time and I loved my nails but the second time around was even better. I always get gel manicure but decided I'd do something different. Tina suggested ombré gel manicure and she did not disappoint. My nails look AMAZING. They are so gentle here and very professional and clean. I came in here as a walk in and they always make time for me. I'm so so so very happy with my nails. On 5/3/19 . I went to Divisadero Nails and got gel nails Recommended by my co work. By Sunday one of my finger nails chipped and peeled half way off. I went back and they polished over the chipped portion. They did not remover the old stuff. That was on Tuesday 5/7/19. Wednesday another nail chipped. Went back on Friday one week they did it again By the time I got home the first nail they fixed peeled off again, and the one they fixed that day peeled off and other fingers too. Will never go there again. Do not recommend this place. read more

So last week, while the man was buying records on Haight, I leisurely flipped through junk magazines and had my tootsies all tarted up at Nails on Haight, my old standby for cheapy mani-pedis and waxing. I should have known as soon as I saw the new, shiny awning and fancy pants interior that prices were going to be a wee bit higher but $22 for a mediocre basic pedi??? Oh, hells no! Now $22 is a small price to pay to avoid shopping for vinyl in a smelly old record shop but ridiculous under any other circumstances (sorry, honey). When I heard that Basi L had uncovered a hidden jewel in my hood, I decided to take the day off and do a girl's day with Jill S. You know: two girls, a chiahuahua, and a couple rounds of margaritas. First stop? Divisadero Nails. What a great way to start our day of leisure! First of all, if you were a child in the 80s and mom used to drag you along to get her nails done, you will feel right at home here. Glamour shots of women and roses adorn the walls, geometric-patterned mirrors are abundant, and the nail stations are still that green-grey marbled plastic (circa 1985). I have a feeling that it is because of this lack of updating and modernization that the savings get passed on to you. For $8 I got the best cheapy manicure I have EVER had. Precise and long-lasting (not a chip in sight even after a day of packing food at the food bank and cooking a meal for Thanksgiving), I would happily pay more. For another $8 I got the BEST brow wax I have ever had (and I usually pay $40) and will never go to anyone else again for my brows. The wax they use is gentle and the redness was gone in about 20 minutes. The best part though? These ladies, though limited in English, actually TALKED to ME. They did not laugh amongst themselves or speak to eachother the whole time in their native language (which would have been fine with me but sometimes makes others uncomfortable). They were friendly, professional, and genuinely tried to make me comfortable. Plus, the facility has a really high safety rating and is very clean. You will not be offered a glass of wine upon entry. There are no spa robes or cucumber water. But this is the best bang for your buck in probably all of San Francisco. read more

I knew it was a stroke of good luck that my waxer's name was also Nancy. It's so rare these days, unless you're 80 and living in a rest home with Mabel and Gladys. My eyebrows were Groucho Marxin'it and feet tore up from walking all over Manhattan last week. Nancy gave me a fantastic arch and shaping in record time, and off I went to soak my tootsies in warm bubbly water. The pedicurist took me to heaven by massaging my aching calves and toes. (Read the subtext: I'm single, okay?) Really inexpensive too -- $8 for a wax and $11 for a pedi, and friendly, sweet ladies. I was lucky to get there before the throngs arrived -- and to the rude customer who couldn't be bothered to get off her phone when talking to the manager, I want you to meet somone. Best Pedicure I have had in San Francisco. Who would have thought? Had a doctor's appointment down at UCSF this morning and got there a good 45 minutes early. So, what better way to pass the time? About halfway through my calf and foot massage, a couple of girls came in off of Divisadero, one of them practically jumping up and down over the sight of the woman doing my pedicure. She was really loud and pretty annoying to be honest....but, after my toes were all done, I could see why she was so excited about "Helen's" return from vacation. I will absolutely go back for a pedicure and I will ask for Helen....even if I have to wait. read more

Service is quick and with a smile, everything is clean, my pedicures look good when I walk out the door and they last a long time. (Which is good as I'm quite abusive to my pedicures.) This place has gone way downhill since my last review, and I will NOT be going back any time soon. Consistency is a real problem here - it depends on who you get for your manicure/pedicure, and I will say there are some really good people but I went yesterday and the OWNER, Nancy (who has a serious attitude problem) did my gel manicure for the first time and it was the WORST experience I have ever had at a nail salon- she was rushed, rude, and it actually hurt. At one point I asked her to slow down because I was afraid she would CUT me. She also did the wrong color, but insisted it was the right one...and I had to ask her multiple times to even out my nails. I mean, come on - you are the owner and you treat customers like crap and seem as it's an inconvenience for you to do your job...that is just plain stupid, and a really good way to lose a once loyal customer. I will not be going back, and I will gladly go to one of the other 5 nail salons in the area. read more

For some reason, all of the nail salons around my apartment DON'T have bath jets for pedicures. Instead, you soak your foot in a metal bowl. NO WAY. I need jets. I need the massage bubbles. Luckily, Divisadero is not that far from my place and they have jets! A mani/pedi costs 24$ and they do an AWESOME job. OPI nail polish on my toes lasted 3 weeks(even in SF where I walk everywhere!) I only came here because my girlfriend wanted to get a pedicure, this is her place, and it's right across the street from my yoga studio. My go-to ALWAYS is Simply Unique Nails. The job they did for the price was satisfactory. But, my big right toe has a tendency to get extra guck on one side - I've never understd why. Muy, at Simply Unique, ALWAYS gets that out. This place obviously did not do a thorough enough job because one week into my pedi and that edge of my nail started to hurt. Today, I literally tried to use the edge of a plastic lipgloss container to get some out because I didn't have my nail device while I was in Yosemite. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. First off, the interior design is NOT what I am writing about LOL. They need a lot of help in that department, but if you can see passed that, awesome. My first tip is this: BE NICE. If you are kind, smile and patient, they will do a really really good job. I bring in really obnoxious photos from pinterest and nail art websites and they ALWAYS replicate perfectly. $29 FOR GEL?? HELLLOOO! I lived in the marina for 6 years and every place is $35. Second tip: don't be in a rush. If you are, they will act like it and not give you as good of service. Bring cash for the tip AND if you can even split the tip up for whoever did your feet and hands, even better. I actually didn't know they split it and it should be split up so it goes specifically to the right person. If my pedicure was easy and normal, she probably shouldn't get the exact same amount on the person doing nail art, gel, and stencils on my hands, so makes sense right? GO HERE. BE NICE. RELAX. I like to pride myself on the loyalty I have towards quality service and a great deal. In fact, more often than not, I like to always give people the benefit of the doubt when their first attempt at service is not on point. Being that I was in the customer service industry for many years, I believe I understand completely just what a customer should be getting when you serve them. That being said, I decided to try out Divisidaro Nails as their price for gel nails ($26) was affordable and I am always looking for a great deal. The lady who ushered me in was friendly and approachable. She began to work on my nails and cleaning my cuticles, standard for any type of manicure. Unfortunately, she cut my finger. Hey, no biggie right? That happens, and like I said, I always am understanding. Then, she began putting the polish on. She seemed to be in a hurry and kept on getting the polish outside the nail. I didn't say anything because I don't know the specifics of gel applications. Flash forward to the ending steps, she asked me to look at my nails to see if I wanted another coat. I looked and saw the nails barely looked coated and the polish was all over my skin. I asked for another coat and she seemed annoyed that I was asking for one--whoops! Besides not feeling like I was a valued potential long time customer, my nails literally chipped the next day...like no joke. Let me remind you once more that I got a gel manicure. Needless to say by two days past the manicure mostly all of my nails were chipped. Yikes! I will definitely not be going back, and I recommend that you don't either. I promise, I am not a hateful, rude or needy person, but if you neglect to produce a worthy manny, I just have to keep it real.
