I tried to order some gelato, but the server was so busy insulting me that I didn't get beyond sampling a couple of flavors, which, by the way, tasted more like ice cream than gelato. If you want to know what real gelato tastes like, go to Italy or at least Philadelphia, where the best goddamn gelato in the USA can be found at Capogiro (you are welcome). The server was infuriated when we disregarded his contention that sorbetto mixed with water = a fresh fruit smoothie. Apparently, our unwillingness to accept a watered-down melted sorbetto as a substitute for a smoothie enraged him so much he felt compelled to drive us away by inflating the price of the ice cream, er, I mean "gelato" to over $20 a cup. No lie, he actually told me that would be the price. The snarky rudeness, however, was free of charge.
