Chunky Monkey over Chocolate PB Chunk!
    Rick R.

I came in on a day that wasn't too busy, likely due to the colder weather and it being a Sunday. I was greeted immediately, and they pointed out a detailed menu board that explained what each flavor contained inside. I decided on a small dish with chunky monkey on top and chocolate Peanut Butter Chunk underneath. Both were delicious! The place is well-kept, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Had to stop in for National Ice Cream Day of course. Ultra violet was my fav. Even with the busy day they did a great job managing the super long line!

Oh boy, having a Ben & Jerry's open up so close to our apartment is DEADLY!! David and I went on opening day and are hooked. As everyone knows, Ben & Jerry's has the best ice cream ever so I had no doubt the store front would be amazing. Got to meet the owner and he is awesome as well. Definitely go show some support to him because he was so friendly and happy to see everyone at the opening. Great guy and we will definitely be back (probably weekly). Disclaimer, sorry my photo sucks. I got too excited and couldn't wait to take any more lol.

Americone Dream: Introduced by Ben & Jerry's (BJ's) in 2007, this flavor was inspired by former "The Colbert Report" host and current "The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert. Proceeds from the sale of this flavor are passed on to various charities supported by Colbert. BJ's official description is vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl. What initially drew me to this pint was that I absolutely loved the Breyer's Waffle Cone ice cream, but as they sadly discontinued it, I needed a replacement. At first, I was apprehensive that the vanilla base would be too boring, but there is enough caramel swirled in that I might have confused it as a caramel base. Just look at the picture and you can see a pool of caramel deep enough to swim in! The fudge covered waffle cones were abundant and crisp. Waffle cone pieces on their own can be bland, but thankfully the fudge contributes a satisfyingly sweet chocolate flavor. This flavor also smacked me with a nice dose of nostalgia as it reminds me of the Choco Tacos that I would frequently get in my school cafeteria. Although I never cared for watching The Colbert Report (I'm a Leno fan), Stephen Colbert's BJ's collab is Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My B&J's Favorites: 1. Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake 2. Americone Dream 3. Gimme S'more 4. Dublin Mudslide 5. PB S'more 6. The Tonight Dough Notable Mentions: Brewed to Matter, Chocolate Shake It, Netflix & Chilll'd

Cute spot for ice cream in the third ward. They have non dairy options as well, which is sometimes hard to find. It was delicious, but $7 for a small cup was pretty ridiculous. Staff was nice and moved the line along quickly! They have indoor and outdoor seating giving different seating options.

    Cool, Creamy deliciousness

I hadn't been to their new building yet…read moreand was pleasantly surprised to see some really cool retro pictures, hand stitched artwork, and classic wallpaper. It's a fun space and felt very welcoming. The chilaquiles were fantastic! They make their own hot sauce in house that was a good addition to the dish, along with chorizo. Highly recommend this one. It was also a huge portion and ended up feeding me for two meals. Make sure you get here early to avoid the extremely long lines; we planned to be there right when it opened and by the time we left, there were already people having to wait outside. Worth the wait though!

Huh. I've heard good things about Honeypie and I'm confused now. I tried to get brunch with my…read morefamily at another area spot, but the wait was too long so we opted to try Honeypie. We reviewed the menu while we waiting for seating, which took far longer than we wanted, more than 30 minutes standing in the cramped lobby area with a bunch of other people. Hats off to their host for being friendly and even a little entertaining and I like that you can order coffee at the register area and drink it while you wait. Too bad you can't get a cocktail out there. The menu sounded great and we were ravenous so we were excited to order. By the time we were seated we were limited to about 40 minutes to get to a ticketed event, all in. I told that to our waitress so she could pace the meal accordingly. While I understand that she can't control the kitchen time, I don't think she showed any expediency or attention to my statement. Spoiler alert - we were late. Two of us ordered the biscuits to start with jam. I was happy to try them and they were good. My coffee based martini hit the spot, but it was spilled a little when it hit the table and our server didn't say anything or wipe it off. My mom liked her bloody Mary and it was decent. When our food came I was immediately disappointed by the appearance. My chilaquiles looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for ages - the egg was dried and over firm. My chips were spicy, but 100% soggy and nasty. My black beans were - meh. Not a good dish overall. My mom actually didn't find fault with her Honeypie Benedict. I tried the hollandaise and it was fine. My cousin did not enjoy her Hopple Popple skillet at all. (Potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, bell pepper, cheddar, two scrambled farm eggs) She found it difficult to find any egg, as it was apparently shrunk into tiny bits. The potatoes were like fries and it was overall bland. Not a winner. We certainly won't be back. The dishes don't live up to the interesting descriptions of them and the hype seems to be from an earlier, better time for this restaurant.
