What on earth? So first things first the drinks are decent and they're cheap very cheap. So don't expect something delicious, original or unique. 1. You walk in on Saturday "club night" and it feels clubish except the DJ wasn't playing club music they were playing the fight and no one was really interested in seeing it despite it being Crawford v. Porter. 2. What could have been a dance floor had a beer pong table which is very difficult to do with laser lights going. It was easy to get a drink because the place was relatively dead on a Saturday night (never a good sign). 3. The right wing of the bar is dark and dismal, it's weird that it's messy with it's storage stuff but also trying to be a seating area... it's weird that as soon as you walk into that area the first thing you see on your left is the BACK of the dart board machine? 4. The theme is completely inconsistent. It's called The Dive, So naturally upfront theres a diving helmet image however that theme isn't carried on anywhere else. This place hasn't figured out it's identity yet... it very much looks like they took the left overs of Shenanigans and just rolled with it. 5. The out door section is BEAUTIFUL, but as soon as I walked outside I smelled marijuana... not like someone smoked earlier and it was still lingering. More like they were smoking it out there. No one was playing volleyball and it smelled like garbage as soon as we walked out the door due to the trash can being placed there... Anywho... read more

LoL and wow is all I can say about this place. I'm always looking for a place to meet friends, family, co-workers for drinks to celebrate hard work and let off some steam, i.e. a dive bar, i.e. A local bar where everyone can be accepted and appreciated, and overall have a good time. I have been to this place a few times now just to check it out, so just sharing my experience. I will not be going back. Did not feel safe here whatsoever. A story for a Thursday night: I started with one bartender at 6:30 pm. I bought one drink and opened a tab, and when my friend arrived 20 min later, I tried to order another drink, but the bartender acted like she never had seen me before. Really, really, strange. I thought that was a bit weird considering there was only 7 people in the establishment. Is she on Xanax or what? By 8:30 I ordered some pizza next door (Sapore's, so good), I was also ordering drinks for my friends through the bar staff. By the end of the night, I tried to close out my tab only to be met with ridicule and disgust like I hadn't opened a tab in my name. I calmly tried to explain to the staff that I had in fact opened a tab earlier in the evening. ( I mean, come on, there was only 15 people total in the building at this point, and somehow they lost my card and the previous bartender apparently didn't setup a tab, so strange. I had drinks all night!!). They were surrounding me and called on their security to surround me like I was trying to walk my tab. No, I was trying to cancel my card considering they didn't have it. Def one of the weirdest experiences I've had at bar, I will not be going back. I usually tip 20% when I go out, this place made it with $12 total considering they 'lost my card' and accused me of trying to 'steal', LOL. read more

*OVER CHARGES, RUDE, TRASH SERVICE* AVOID AVOID AVOID. If you are a UTSA student I strongly recommend to avoid and boycott this place. Recently, after my 10th+ visit, at the end of the night about 1:30 I heard someone on the mic say something about SOSA, which I thought was Spirit of San Antonio the marching band of UTSA... the man at the DJ booth said "no I meant DJ SOSA" then I replied "I thought you meant SOSA, I am a music student there!" Seeking to relate while I was laughing, I then asked where the UTSA flag was (because they had a huge one on the wall before) and with attitude the guy replies "I took down that 'OOTSA' flag" and I'm like why?? He says: "you need to have a bachelors to talk to me" And so we begin...I have been a regular here not because it's a great bar, actually pretty shitty to be honest, but because my cousin performs there multiple times a month I go to support and help. The guy behind the mic at the DJ booth turns out to be the general manager as he claims (as if there's a GM for a hole in the wall that barely fits 100 people LOL and no, I didn't believe him) and started to accuse me of being loud for some reason (when the music hits over 95dB indoors) and proceeds to instigate a conflict by insulting and challenging me in front of my cousin (the performer) my mother, his mother, his father, and his girlfriend as we were heading out the door...literally. Not to mention he picked up my half full beer with a UTSA koozie attached and threw it in the trash just 20 min before (thank you mom for catching that). The disrespect this little guy showed tonight towards my family was uncalled for. At the door we tried to both agree to "start over" to which I offered him to come to my job with his co workers and we would hook him up. I told him I am a server, so it's possible...he cut me off and put his hand in my face with a gesture to shut me up and said I was too loud, to which I replied "I am not" where he looked at my cousins and gesture to "get me the fuck out of here" First of all, wtf did I do to warrant this disrespect? 6 witnesses concur that I was not obnoxious or misbehaving. I was there for barely over an hour coming straight from work. He proceeded to call me cheap and poor because I was carrying a box that was a Christmas gift from the mother of my cousin who performed that night. Think about it, what would you have done? Me? well seeking legal action seems to be in place at the moment also notifying other local artists and students on campus about this place. Walked in on a Monday at 7pm to catch the Spurs game and some greasy haired girl that was completely wasted started screaming right away. Walked up to the bar, asked for one modelo and one stella with two shots of Casamijos. Noticed some Spurs memorabilia on the walls but then also noticed not one of their 30 TVs had the Spurs game on. Went up to asked the bartender if they could change one of the TVs, she said she would. I sat back down and chatted it up, 10 min passed and still no change. Walked back up to ask what was up with the channel change and she legit had forgot I even asked. That's when I realized she was trashed as well. At this point we decided to scram so when we tried to close out, she was staring at the POS machine with bewilderment, as if had just asked her the square root of something. And wouldn't you just know it, all our tabs were screwed up. Checked my account this morning and I saw two charges, one for the tab and a $20 tip she gave herself.
