I'm a Diva Nails frequenter, this is technically my favorite nail salon in SD as I've completed at least 50 visits here but I hate how high they charge and how the nails always break. I've been here for 6 years almost every month or two, I'm a huge fan of their work and their ability to churn out really good nail designs really quickly but I HATE HATE HATE how quick my nails ALWAYS break when I get them done here. I get long acrylics with gel polish and designs so I'm paying top dollar for my set that feels like a big price jump from other local salons. You're paying for the nice location, comfortable setting and fabulous work. But they tend to file the nails down THIN which looks great visually but makes them prone to breakage. I've had to return 3x to fix the same set before. I've had a pinky nail bleed from breaking. It was the most gorgeous pink marble design of my dreams but man it was literally BLEEDING because it broke so deep in my nail-bed. This time, in January 2026, one of the nails on my new set broke within first 24 hours the night before my birthday and I don't have time to go fix it!!!! It's super aggravating which is why I like to go to get my nails done at Styles Plaza Bonita (on the first floor by Target) instead half of the time because they keep your nails thicker there and they don't break even after a month. read more

Diva Nails Chula Vista I'm sharing this in hopes that management will take it seriously and make this right. I have scheduled appointments in advance multiple times, yet I'm consistently asked to wait 30+ minutes because my technician is still with another client. This defeats the purpose of booking and shows a lack of respect for customers' time. More concerning is the service quality. My clear requests to properly remove and replace acrylic were ignored, the work felt rushed, I left with cuts on my toes, and within days the acrylic cracked and broke. This reflects poor workmanship and inadequate care. When I calmly raised these concerns, they were dismissed and I was still charged full price, with no meaningful attempt to resolve the issue. Because this has happened more than once, I'm extremely disappointed. She seemed confused and literally brought someone else to ask me if I wanted them taken off which I said yes to but then she proceeded to just paint over them without doing anything yo them but taking off the old gel. When she was done I noticed she literally didn't even attempt to redo the acrylic so it was cracked and all my French lines were crooked . Yes I could have said something but at that point I just wanted out of there . She seemed rushed too so that wasn't fun . Really nice to pamper yourself from time to time. I was at a birthday party with some friends and one of them lives in Chula Vista and suggested to get us a Mani-pedi at this place as it is cheaper than in San Diego. I am not used to do the fake nails (last time was 3 years ago) but I loved my experience at Diva Nails. Very active salon, it was so busy all the time I was there. I really like the result of my acrylic mani and my monkey toes got very happy too. Only think I didn't like was to be charged $2 for using credit for each transaction. read more

Horrible service I got overcharged for a fill, apparently they make their own prices. They don't explain what they charge you for. I requested a cuticle removal which was 7$ and after I payed for the fill and cuticle removal I asked why I got overcharged she told me because I had to much cuticle and she charge me 13$ . Look I paid with tip 150 dollars I do not mind paying, but I do expect that they last at least 2.5 weeks but with a good mail tech quality will last 3 weeks. The nail tech who did my nails did a terrible job and got upset with me just because I pointed out that I didn't like ONE nail. Her customer service was awful, and throughout the appointment she kept being rough and hurting my hand while working on my nails. To make it worse, I paid way too much for nails that didn't even last--within just two weeks they started falling off. Definitely not worth the money or the experience. The girl says about 12 more minutes. So a 15-20 minute wait is actually closer to 45. Just be upfront and people will decide if they want to stay. Came here to try a new place out and it was actually such a terrible experience. I arrived five minutes before my appointment for an acrylic fill however, I still waited for about 20 minutes to get seated with someone. I showed her a picture of what I wanted to get done and then she got started. I wasn't satisfied with the shape so i asked her very kindly to fix it but she gave me an annoyed look and sighed loud. When it came to the french tip I let her know exactly how i liked mine done but she didn't do it right which is totally okay because not everyone can do it right. However, this just lead her to get upset and she told me "well someone else can do it then", and I simply agreed because that attitude was not worth my time. The lady that did my french tip did a good job, but not even two days later the gel on my nails started to peel really bad. I've been getting my nails done every month for the past 5 years and that has never happened to me before. I have been coming to Diva Nails for over 8 years, my mom, sister, and grandma all come here as well as friends that I recommend they are affordable and I love the workers. Well my mom bought me a gift card for Christmas from them so I can get a pedicure and nails done, I went there today and got all my services went up to pay with my gift card and the lady said that the gift card numbers don't match any of the gift cards they have in their system. This was an $120 gift card. The lady at the front desk then called the boss and the boss said she would not honoring the gift card because it didn't match in the system, I told her my mom bought this and I've never used it. She told me even if I had a receipt it would not matter because it doesn't match in her system. I was very upset I had to pay for services that I had a gift card for. I will not be returning and neither will any of my friends or family. Also my mom called the credit card company and they see the transaction where she bought the gift card for 122$ because they always charge a fee for using your card. Her credit card company will be disputing this with Diva nails since they refused to provide the services that they sold. Horrible experience. I've been here twice before and the work was mediocre at best. I came here one more time to give it a shot and had a few people refer me here. I wish I didn't come back the third time. I got a new acrylic set for a trip and they didn't even last a week. I showed the nail tech an inspiration picture and the designs she did were horrible. She was also distracted and talking to a coworker the whole time. I was so unhappy with the design she had to redo it 3 times. It eventually took too long and I was paying a sitter so I had to leave and settle with the poor design she did. I noticed on my trip the next day the tips she glued on weren't glued on properly so within a couple days they all started breaking off. I called to see if they would fix them when I got back from my trip and they said the same person had to redo them even though she did the worst nails I've ever gotten in my life. I made an appointment with her first thing the next morning and she called out "sick" probably knowing she had an unhappy customer coming in for a redo. They said since she wasn't in I'd have to see someone else and pay for a new set or come back which I couldn't do since I pay for someone to watch my kid every time. She said the best she could do was charge me "half price" for 30 dollars. When I took my ticket to the front that said 50 I questioned how 30 was half price and the manager fought me on it still. I paid and left. Here we are barely a week later after they redid my new set entirely and another nail has already broken off. When I called to complain the woman on the phone was very short with me and said it's because I have to get a fill every 2 weeks, my nails don't grow that fast so I usually go every 3-4 weeks and anytime I get a new set they last at least that long. I get if it was a fill since they're a little weaker but they were both new sets. The woman on the phone said I'd have to go in so she could take a look and see if they would help me. I told her I can't pay for childcare a third time in 3 weeks for them to charge me for another new set she said ok and hung up on me, horrible customer service!!! This place is overpriced and horrible. Will not be returning and will tell everyone I know never to come to this place. I normally love going here and I never feel rushed or like I'm not just another person and today I didnt Have a good experience. I also got cut a couple times. I do like the way my nails turned out although there are some mess ups on them (minor) but I felt like when I was addressing my concerns I was talked to and looked at like I didn't know any better and I just didn't feel heard and what exactly I wanted. Again this place normally makes me feel really beautiful after coming out of it but today I just felt really rushed, unheard and also got physically hurt. I got an old lady this time and no hate to the old lady she was sweet but I could tell she was being rushed and she filled my nail so thin and the French looks more like an ombre and the chrome is all over the nail. Worst place ever. It's dirty. They over book their nail tech and have them working on 3 different clients at the same time. If you want your nails done in 3 different sections go there. They will seat you down then they will run over to another customer to work on them and ask you to wait. All they care about is money and not the service they provide . The nail tech did 3 other customers while doing my nails . 3 hours later they still weren't done and then the nail tech started screaming and yelling like she wanted to FIGHT ME when I asked her why she was charging me $85 for unfinished nails. I hate to give 2 stars because the lady (Diane) that did my nails was amazing and so sweet. She did my nails beautifully! My low stars are based on the service I received for my pedicure and the pricing. First off the pedicure I requested was the $26 basic pedicure with gel polish, the nail tech recommended I upgrade to $31 to include the "massage" and foot scrub. The massage was literally her rubbing lotion on my calf's for maybe 10 seconds and the scrub was similar to the basic package. Definitely not worth the up charge. At the end she tells me a different lady will be applying my nail polish? When I receive my bill it's $50 for a fill with gel polish nothing fancy, $34 for the pedicure and $10 for the lady that did the polish? When I asked why the charges seemed more than what was shown to me, the manager said they charge $3 additional on the pedicure to remove the gel polish from my previous visit and $10 for the lady to put the new gel polish??? I just think they charge excessively and they should be more transparent before service. read more
