I just found this great store downtown Seattle, It's called Diva Dolls. I have never had so much fun shopping before in my life! Is so unique, I've never seen anything like it, it's a mix of 1920-40's fashion mixed with modern all in one. You can't describe it you must see it for yourself! The sales lady was so kind and helpful, but most of all patient with me. Love the dresses here, and bought a favorite at the New Orelans store. This location is much smaller and more cramped. The real problem is how pushy the saleswomen are. I was in this past Sunday, and they clearly weren't interested in trying find what looks good on my body. They kept throwing stuff at me, even if it didn't make sense for my body shape and proportions. They only wanted to make a sale--major backfire, since they drove me crazy and I left after trying on three dresses. On the flip side, at the NoLa store they were friendly and helpful withiut being manic, so I was happy to spend time and money there. read more

I really really wanted to shop in this store, but alas, no such luck. The first time I went in the sales girl was really nice and helpful but I only had a few minutes to shop before an already scheduled event. The second time, they were closed, opens at noon. Oops. The last time, today, I went in with my kids in a stroller as they were napping; perfect time for shopping! Before I even got to the door the sales girl stopped me and did not let me enter. She said that the second door (french style double doors) did not open to allow for my stroller and "that it was kind of a fire hazard to have the stroller in the store". WTF? I realize it is a small store but there was NO ONE in the store at the time. If it is a fire hazard to have the stroller in the store, then how do people in wheelchairs come in? And if the second door truly does not open, wouldn't that be a fire hazard as well? I am very bummed about this experience as well as quite infuriated. I was totally discriminated against because I had children. Sadly, this store just missed out on quite a sale, as I was prepared to drop some major money in there today. I was in this store today for the first time. I was visiting Seattle from California and I love vintage inspired dresses so this shop caught my eye immediately. I walked in and the sales girl was super sweet and attentive. I had a look around and a woman who I believe to be the owner was telling me about her designs and her seamstresses etc. when suddenly I noticed a dress I own on a rack, I look at the price and it was over $150 bucks! So long story short the lady was trying to pass this dress off as her own design (We actually had a conversation where she asked if I was sure it was the same dress and not just the same fabric, and then back peddled to say she sometimes sells to other vendors etc..) and she up sells them insanely! I bought that same dress as well as almost bought two others she had on the same rack at a mall in nowheresville California,they were $39 bucks SAME EXACT DRESS! I HAVE IT WITH ME RIGHT NOW. So I say beware ladies, her dresses are cute but not $150+ cute. I've gotten better quality vintage inspired dresses for less than that. I bought a corset through them several years ago and had a great experience. I cam back today to take a look at a new corset and was disappointed. They moved the corsets to behind the counter and apparently now you have to come in after hours and pay a wopping $50 for a fitting!! No thanks. I know my size, I just want to see if the style suits me. The staff is kind of obnoxious too, very loud, very in your face, makes it hard to shop. I also felt like the shop girl, while not mean, was almost speaking down to me as if i didnt know what i was doing. Like I came in asking about a specific corset, Im not new to this, you dont need to act like I dont know what Im doing. It kind of kills the fun and i planned on buying something but ended up leaving empty handed as a result. Also everything in there seems to be marked up super high.Most everything is of average quality and really not all that unique with the exception of a a few things, and all of it is overpriced. And honestly the vibe I get from shop staff and the store itself is "were too good for you" and its pretty off putting. Jacking up prices and carrying items that can sort of kind of be considered retro does not make you special. Quality service and items do and this store is lacking in those departments. Though the corsets (which are by isabella corsetry) are totally amazing. I think Ill save my time, money and irritation and just buy stuff online instead.. read more

I cannot go on about how much I love this place !!! Last year I did an internship around the corner, so I would walk by their fun windows every evening after closing time as I went to the bus stop. Finally, one afternoon I cut out early and stopped in. Dresses, costumes, fun things, jewelry, and the nicest girls that worked in there. I was trying to find something quirky for my best friend's birthday, so one of the girls steered me in the direction of the lotion candles. Each scent has the story of a different gold mining town prostitute (I thought it was based on Seattle history, since it was a brothel town... but I'm pretty sure it was actually in Alaska). You light the candle and it smells AMAZING... but then you can use the wax as a lotion that is equally wonderful. They were $16 apiece for a small tin, but I ended up getting one for my friend and my mom for Christmas... both were hits! Anyhow, stop in here if you have a chance. They're expensive, but I like to think of their quality quirky products as treats :) read more

Cute idea but doesn't deliver. Maybe I'm just spoiled because I have a similar store that I LOVE (Trashy Diva). The clothes are handmade and hence basically don't fit anyone very well. (I'm not sure the advantage of hand made here... doesn't seem to be working for them.) The best I could do is find a couple dresses that fit well in 1 area but terribly elsewhere. The fabric is very light - which would work better if we lived in the South since I'm not sure it'd get much wear in Seattle. Oh well... so much for that idea... read more

This store was fabulous. Dropped in 30 minutes before they closed. The girls in there were the best. I went a little crazy buying a new wardrobe for my daughter who moved to Seattle a year ago. I made their overtime worth it. Will definitely be back and will be getting gift cards in future. Don't miss this store. read more

Reasonably cute dresses, the biggest selling point being that many are made in the USA. Staff is nice if you're looking to buy, though maybe a little pushy with add ons and such. Return policy is NON-EXISTENT, so don't let yourself be pressured in to buying something you don't 110% LOVE. Completely regret my purchase from Diva Dollz. read more

Love, Love, LOVE this store! Met both of the owners, and they were amazing. The staff, dressed gorgeous, and SO helpful. I was probably in there for over 2 hours trying on different things, and no one was disappointed when I walked out with only 2 dresses. Prices are similar to that of Anthropologie and the sorts. Not overpriced for what you're getting, but not cheap either. One of the dresses came in multiple colors, and I was having a tough time choosing between white and an burnt orange kinda color. So, the owner told me to buy the white one, and when summer was over and I wanted it to wear it in the fall, so come back and they would dye it for me, for free! When I said I lived in LA, they said no problem, ship it to them! That is amazing service. The staff even entertained my boyfriend while I was trying on clothes. They make custom corsets and HATS! I won't touch on the shoes, since everyone already has. I now make it a ritual part of every trip to Seattle. GO! read more

This place is awesome! I took my wife there to find some vintage 30's/40's style dresses and they had a great selection. When I lived in New Orleans I used to covet Diva Dollz sister's store Trashy Diva. I could never afford the dresses but I still had to go in and look at them. Luckily, Diva Dollz seems to be a little more reasonable in price and is right around the corner from my work. It is a great retro dress store with styles ranging from the twenties to the early fifties (I am guessing). Throw in some sexy corsets, frilly panties, any type of fish-net stocking and matching shoes to go with and your are transformed into a diva on par with the beautiful ladies who work there. Sidenote: I want one of them to do my hair in the cool 40's style they always wear. They are really helpful with choosing the different styles and even offered to dye my sister's dress a different color if she didn't want to keep it white. All in all it is a good place to go get something that you won't see anyone else wearing. read more

Great shop! I was brought in by an amazing pair of boots that are in the front window! They were a little pricey and at first was a little unsure because of the sign hanging on their wall that said no return or refunds. I continued looking while I thought about it and I ended up buying not a only the boots but an attire outfit to match! I have never walked into a shop with beautiful ladies who want to assist me! and do not mind me having my children in the shop. In fact they even have candy for them I don't know if its because of holiday but for once my kids sat and watched mommy play dress up. I bought my best friend a lovely sweater and because I had read the sign at the store and on the receipt that said I couldn't return it I told the ladies it was a gift and they said I had a week to exchange it! They also carry some of favorite pin up girl designers! Like Stop Staring and Pinup girl clothing!!! I love that I have easy access to those designers because its much easier trying on the styles in person and playing dress up then ordering online... finding right sizes online can be tough sometimes. I purchased an entire outfit for an upcoming event in another country. When the sales woman tried to zip the dress, there was something wrong with the zipper. She was able to adjust the zipper and it zipped, fearing that I might have a wardrobe malfunction she assured me that it was fine and it was simply stuck. I purchased a complete outfit for the event costing me around $500. I flew abroad for the event and as soon as I tried the dress on again, the zipper malfunctioned and there was NO WAY of fixing it. Luckily, I brought a back outfit and had to can the entire purchase. As soon as I was back in the states I went to return the dress and was told several conflicting things. One, they DO NOT OFFER RETURNS. She told me it was clear to her that it was a faulty zipper (why couldn't the other salesperson identify the problem). She told me that she would be able to replace the zipper, but that was it. I no longer needed the outfit and wanted to return the purchase since I no longer had use for the dress or the accessories. She said that there was nothing she could do about the other accessories, but said that she would allow me to have a store credit.....if it was 30 days since the purchase. Well guess what, I was 31 days past the time of purchase. She then told me that even if she gave me a store credit she would have to charge me a 30% restocking fee, get this, because they could have sold the dress if it was in their possession....THEY WOULD SELL A FAULTY DRESS!? I told them that I would be leaving the country for several months and that I simply wanted a refund, but to no avail. I finally just donated the worse-than-walmart items to the store, since they are so clearly desperate for money. This is by far the WORST boutique I've ever been to in my entire life. DO NOT SHOP HERE! Granted, the clothes APPEAR stylish and well designed, but do not let the prices and the boutique fool you. There is a reason they have a NO RETURN POLICY!!!! read more
