In February 2026, I discovered a deep scratch on the hood of my vehicle following a car wash. I immediately brought it to an employee's attention and asked if he could remove it, but the scratch was too deep. Rather than make an issue of it, I gave the business the benefit of the doubt and paid out of pocket to have the damage professionally repaired. Fast-forward to October 27, 2026, and here we are AGAIN. Another scratch on my hood, in almost the exact same location! TWICE. SAME BUSINESS. SAME AREA OF MY HOOD. I take pride in maintaining my vehicle, and the last thing I expect after paying for a car wash is to leave with damage that requires professional repair. What makes this particularly frustrating is that I've continued supporting this business, even after the first incident, because I genuinely appreciated their service. I've spent several days trying to locate management's contact information to address this latest incident directly. I'm now formally requesting that the business take responsibility for the damage and cover the cost of repairs. I'm including photos of both scratches because I believe customers deserve to know about my experience. So when my local mechanic couldn't fix an issue that cropped up with my car in September, I went out of my way to bring my car from NW to Auto Tech's Trinidad shop. My car had a P1454 check engine light (fuel tank pressure sensor/EVAP system issue). Auto Tech did a diagnostic and recommended replacing the sensor for $519. They said they weren't completely sure it would fix the problem, but they warned me that if I took the car to a dealer, the dealer would want to replace the full EVAP system for at least $2,000. I trusted Auto Tech's advice and authorized the $519 repair, but the check engine light came back on the next day. Auto Tech then advised I replace the rest of the EVAP system, quoting me over $1,500 just for the parts. I decided to get a second opinion from the dealer anyway. For a $195 diagnostic fee, the dealer identified a clogged fuel vent tube, cleaned it out, and fixed the problem. This tube is attached to the same fuel tank pressor sensor Auto Tech replaced -- meaning that Auto Tech never took the time to check for a blockage in the immediate vicinity of the part they replaced. When I called Auto Tech to provide this feedback and express my disappointment with the misdiagnosis, they blew me off. They insisted they had been right all along, offered an obviously insincere apology, and hurriedly got off the phone. I am deeply disappointed with Auto Tech and can no longer recommend them due to their failure to properly diagnose this issue, bad advice about how much a dealership would have charged, and dismissal of my feedback.

They found that the coolant level was low and traced the issue to a leak that needed attention. They also checked the hoses and other components of the cooling system and explained what they found before doing the repair. I appreciated that because I wanted to understand why the temperature had been fluctuating instead of just being handed a repair bill. While they had the vehicle, they also checked the heater operation because I'd noticed that the cabin heat wasn't getting as warm as it normally did. The technician explained how the coolant system affects both engine temperature and the vehicle's heating system, which helped everything make much more sense. After the repair and coolant service, the temperature gauge stayed exactly where it should during both stop-and-go D.C. traffic and longer drives. The heater also returned to normal operation. I love that they didn't immediately recommend replacing expensive parts. They inspected the system, identified the actual problem, explained the repair, and then verified that everything was operating properly afterward. Finally I go to another mechanic for an oil change who said the oil looked neglected and suggested I get it changed more often. I just went in for an oil change at Nielsen's three months ago. So I'm pretty suspicious of the expensive repairs (suggest reading other reviews on this). But feel sure they were not doing the routine maintenance I was bringing it in for while charging me thousands for expensive repairs.
