So this review is for 2 recent incidents where I relied on District Towing, both battery jump starts. First was 4/22 while my car was parked in DC the other on 4/27 where my brand new car battery was dead because I left my lights on when shopping. I will also say I've relied on District Towing for 11 years, both for myself and back in the day when I was managing apartment buildings. I simply do not understand the poor reviews as I have really never had one. The phone has always been answered, their drivers communication is stellar, their fees more than fair. From car lock out to towing to battery jump I simply cannot recommend them high enough. The recent jump was outcin northern virginia and the service tech, Mike, was there is less than an hour and as I broke down in tears he was so kind. I so highly recommend them and over 11 years with flawless service speaks volumes for District Towing. read more

Phenomenal experience with this company. I called to request the tow and had everything arranged in less than 10 minutes!! After I got off the phone with the operator I received an automated call stating that my truck had been dispatched. A few seconds later I received a call back from District Towing to let me know that the truck would arrive within 30 minutes. This was very pleasing news, and everyone was very courteous. The truck arrived in under 30 minutes. The driver was very polite. He made sure I had made a arrangements with a body shop to have my car taken there. He explained some other things that could have been a surprise had I not known. I appreciated his thorough and prompt work, as well as his honestly and politeness. No one is ever happy to be in a situation that requires dealing with a tow truck company, but my experience with district towing last night was great. After having a night of horrible luck, my boyfriend and I had to call a tow truck because his car wasn't holding any electrical charge. I called the company after midnight on a Friday night and the driver, Lee, arrived within 20 minutes. He had us all back to my apartment quickly and was able to get the car parked in a difficult spot with ease. On the way back, he helped my boyfriend figure out what was likely wrong with his car, too. The price for towing wasn't as outrageous as I expected (I've paid more for just a jump with other companies). A nice plus: his truck smelled CLEAN! I had a very bad experience with these guys. I was in desperate need of a tow and called them - got a good quote and they said the driver would call me shortly to confirm the address and pickup details. I hadn't heard anything for an hour and a half, so I called back, only to learn that they wouldn't help me because I wasn't an AAA request. Fine, whatever - at least give me the courtesy to call me and tell me to look elsewhere. Now im in an expensive bind because District Towing didn't even call me to tell me they weren't coming. James was my hero! I broke down on Rock Creek Parkway right in front of the Kennedy Center. I was able to barely pull off the road but was nervous and anxious to get my car off the road. I used AAA and they sent District Towing and James. James called to let me know he was in Silver Spring - I freaked out a bit because in terms of location that's a long way from the Kennedy Center! But James must be an expert tow truck driver because he was there in no time! When he arrived he was very friendly and accommodating - even taking my request to switch tow locations last minute. DO NOT USE!!!!! I have been stranded on the side of the road in 90 degree heat for the last 2 hours and no one has showed up. Dispatch informed me that a truck would be at my car in 30-45 mins time however no truck arrived. After 1 hour i called dispatch back just to be put on hold for 10 mins and then told a driver would call me in a few mins. 20 mins later i called dispatch again informing them that i had still not recieved a call. Was given another number to call, which only connected me to another dispatch office that said a driver would call in the next 2 mins. 20 mins later still no call from a driver or an updated ETA. Needless to say i will never attempt to use this companys service again and encourage everyone else to find another company. read more

I can't say enough about the tremendously positive experience we had with this company. My fiance and I were sadly struck by a case of smoky-engine in the middle of DC during RUSH HOUR! You can't imagine how nerve-wracking of an experience that was. We called AAA, and they brought one of the nicest people out to assist us - Beebo from District Towing. It just so happens that Beebo is the owner, which I thought was awesome given that you'd expect the owner to stay in the office. I can't say enough about how friendly Beebo was and how great of a job he did to calm our nerves after this traumatic experience. Beebo was very clear and open about what he was going to do and what route he was going to take to get to our mechanic. From the moment he arrived, he took control of the situation and made sure that my fiance and I were comfortable and worry-free. Busy rainy weekend, and I needed a new battery. I told them no rush, but they still got someone out to me with a new battery in ~1.5hrs. Sounds like they try to get someone to you within an hour usually, but I didn't need them to get to me that quickly so told them to take their time. My tech, Chris, was great, showed me what he was doing as he installed the battery, and his colleague took my CC payment over the phone once complete. New battery delivery & install at my house was $265 +$20 cash tip. Giving the service 5-stars, but big tip for saving $$$ on this service: if you need a new battery and don't have AAA, call AAA before you call these guys, get AAA Roadside Premier because it includes a new battery and install in the annual price (NOTE: not included in their more basic plans), which is ~$150 less than what I paid this morning for the same service because I don't have AAA. My tech, Chris, told me I could have called AAA that morning, signed up for AAA Premier, and Chris would have installed the battery today as an included service... would have been nice to know that from the guy I first spoke to when I called them this morning BEFORE Chris came out to replace my battery. Regardless, Chris was great, everyone I spoke to was polite, and recommend their service. read more

So happy I found these reviews and called. Woke up this morning to find my car wasn't starting. I suspected it was the battery. Called a few other places and none answered their phones. I called District Towing, and a nice gentleman took my info and said someone would be out to help in 45 minutes. The technician (Lionel) called and texted when he was about 30 minutes away. As soon as he got here he got to work, gave me a jump start and instructions to drive for at least 30-45 minutes to charge up the battery. Lionel was quick, efficient and friendly. In my case, it was especially great because I needed my motorcycle towed, and District Towing had a super-cool hydraulic lift in their pickup which made the securing and loading of the motorcycle fast, smooth and very safe. He got my truck out of a jam in NO TIME, and got me out of there with style and finesse. I thought my car was broken down so I called this company for a tow, the lights were bright and the car was making a terrible squealing noise when I tried to start it.. They showed up fairly quickly in around 30 minutes and he asked if I had tried jumping it. Surprisingly that fixed the issue but the disappointing part was the driver then said I owed $150 in cash which was more than it would cost to get it towed. The fact that I did not ask what the charge would for a jump was my fault but I am fairly sure the driver was just taking advantage of the situation and probably put the cash in his pocket. Live and learn. At least I got home. read more
