This restaurant was participating in Houston restaurants week so I decided to give them a try and was very disappointed with both the service and the food. We came in on Tuesday evening, it wasn't very busy, but service was so slow. It took a while for a server to come out and we had to ask on three separate occasions for bread, which didn't come out until our entrées came out. And the bread was bad, very dry and the flavor was not great. For Appetizers, I got the calamari and my friend ordered the cauliflower. The calamari was OK. Pieces were a bit small and overcooked, but it wasn't terrible. The pomegranates added a nice kick of freshness to the dish. As for the cauliflower, it was OK nothing crazy. I found the black olives and Parmesan to be a bit of a weird add to the dish. It just didn't make the dish look appetizing to be honest with you. To drink, I got the spicy mango margarita which was very watered down. The mango taste was very slight, and the jalapeño seeds kept getting stuck in my straw. It wasn't that great of a drink. For entrées, we both ordered the lamb chops which came with truffle risotto, and asparagus. When our plates came out, you can immediately see the difference in quality. My plate looked bad, fatty, not seared. My friend's plate looked beautiful, way better than mine. And we both asked for them to be cooked the same way. The lamb was good, but not great. The asparagus was good but the risotto was not it. When you take the first bite, you get hit with an intense truffle taste, but as you keep eating the risotto, the flavor disappears, very bland. The risotto wasn't creamy either, it was dry. I think they only drizzled the truffle on top of the risotto so that's why the first bite was so intense with truffle flavor. For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée and the Pazooki, both items were BURNT, VERY BURNT!!! I don't know how the chef looked at these items and said it was OK to send out. Overall, for the service and food quality, I was not impressed nor would I recommend my friends to come eat here. Also they charge a liquor tax? Not worth it for the drinks in my opinion

Sunday HRW Brunch with my friend Ronald S. District 7 was our very first HRW for 2025. Short story: -1 Absent host. -1 Appeared to seat the people who walked in with me, who arrived after my friend been waiting to be seated with menus. -1 Server came to table after 4, (-1) told us we couldn't order brunch. (-1) Good cold temp. (-1)Cold syrup and (-1) Hair and food. No discount solution given even after mentioned (-1) (only dessert, which we decline several times, & was not good either) I called ahead of time to confirm brunch hours. Till 4 PM. Great. Ron arrived before me, we were on the phone the entire time of his travel and arrival. While being OTP till I walked in, I spoke to a host who was talking about nothing retraining to business outdoors and west menus and to be seated, my friend Ben waiting so long he was not aware if he was supposed to seat himself out not. No one acknowledged him. A older host sat a couple who arrived after us while he's been waiting, even after being notified. We felt ignored and dismissed. Which day a nasty tone. But we were hungry and happy to explore the menu. The young host I spoke to outdoors from the patio walked in to seat us. The table needed to be wiped down, she did that and gave us menus. I like that she provided HRW menus without request from us. We were ready to ordered prior to arriving. She said we had to wait for our server and she couldn't take the orders. So I thought: (wtf She was outside talking to the guy at tide table so long for if you not allow to take meal orders). We were ready and Waiting, seems like they were waiting till 4 to come take the orders She gets there, I started spilling out my order, she stop me to say BRUNCH IS OVER, you can't order that. "While we were here before the end of brunch, no one was here at the door to greet or sit us. He was waiting to be seated with menus, and they sat people who arrived after him, after he didn't even know how the establishment operate and if he was supposed to sit his self or wait. And then we tried to order with the host who sat us with menus, she said we had to wait for the server and you don't show until after four. We've been waiting for over 10 minutes. We've been knowing what we wanted before we even arrived. We only came for brunch." She confirmed, came back said we can order we did. The Mac and cheese on the waffle was cold. I asked for hot syrup, which didn't come out until I was on my last bite of my waffle. And I had to call someone else and asked them, which took forever. And it was only about 4 tables occupied in the place. Not busy at all. After she deliver our plates she didn't come back and check on us until we were on the last bite. I couldn't tell her about the cold mac & cheese, I couldn't tell her about the hair on my plate. Or that she forgot my warm syrup or that I needed another one The manager John came to visit I showed him the hair he removed it with the quickness . His solution was to offer a dessert that neither one of us wanted it after experience that we had and that I shared detailed by detail. John kept offering a dessert continuously and I was trying to give it to my friend and he didn't want it either. We were good on the dessert but John was like you know we could take it to go, I was like OK my friend mentioned that he would've did the carrot cake so I did the carrot cake & Try to give it to him. He refused trying to carrot cake later on that evening. It had nuts and raisins in it. It wasn't good. It wasn't my cup of tea, but John was like whenever you come back you can always get a dessert on me. This was sweet, but this didn't fix this visit. This was not a solution to the multiple problems we experience on this visit. This does not encourage me to come back.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! I've been coming here for about two years and the service is excellent every time. The manager John is spectacular! He treats us like his family and he is wonderful. The food at this restaurant is top tier! I always try something new each time to spice it up and it never disappoints. I HIGHLY recommend coming to this location for great food and customer service!

    Mimosa Flight
    Tara O.

This spot was very quiet for a Saturday afternoon during brunch time. Not a complaint because me and my party of 4 walked in and were immediately seated, orders taken and drinks served. Out of everything we ordered, it was great. My son had shrimp and grits, daughter had French toast and the best friend had a steak cooked medium. Every plate was cleaned. I also had a mimosa flight and it was great! I will be coming back to this gem.

Such a great spot. Very good food, great atmosphere and nice service. The pasta bowl I had was really nice and my husband had the pizza. Very delicious!! We will be back.

Great place!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Great service and the food is way better than expected. There is a something for everyone on the menu. New menus items "EASTEX" - picture attached of the Shawarma tacos. Great for sitting outside and ambiance. Overall excellent.

We were in for quick brunch. It was empty and we were sat immediately. Service was excellent. Our server was engaging and witty. Food came quickly and was hot. It was just as we ordered. We had a Mimosa, Belini, and latte and we finished them!

Amazing food and drinks. The ambiance is amazing too, I always sit at the bar for great service and it never disappoints.

    Pancetta Shrimp Carbonara Lunch
    Randy C.

I sat at the bar around 3 pm and there was barely any customers. I ordered the pancetta shrimp carbonara which needed more salt. There was a good char on the shrimp, but salting food is pretty basic. Near the end of my meal, there was 2 groups of about 8-10 people who came in and that's when my server completely ignored me. I'm still the only person at the bar, so it was pretty easy to see me. All I needed was the check, and for him to charge my credit card. It took a long time to get his attention just to give me the check. And then he never came back again. I even asked a gentlemen behind the bar, which I assumed he was a bartender since he was making drinks, if he could get my server because I just need to pay the bill. I don't know if he told the server but I was waiting so long that I had to get up and take my bill to the server. He then said "oh my gosh, I'm sorry" which means he completely forgot about me. I don't think anyone should have to get up and walk to a server just for them to swipe my credit card. I still don't know why the other guy behind the bar couldn't do it himself either.

They managed to keep the same relaxed neighborhood vibe people love while giving it a much more modern, polished, and upscale feel. The updated design, lighting, TVs and overall atmosphere look incredible and make the space feel fresh without losing its personality. They still have the spinning drink wheel! The outdoor seating especially feels elevated now and makes for the perfect Houston brunch spot or night out. One of the best parts about NextDoor is that it's connected to Hungry's, which means you get full access to their menu while enjoying the lounge atmosphere. Being able to order everything from cocktails and appetizers to full meals while at a bar is a game changer. The food is consistently good, the drinks are strong (especially the frozen options) well-made, and everything comes out quickly. What keeps me coming back year after year is the consistency. The staff has always been welcoming and attentive, the crowd is chill, and it never feels overly pretentious or chaotic. It's one of those rare spots that works for everything, whether it's happy hour after work, date night, catching up with friends over drinks on the patio or a solo adventure. Love seeing a longtime Houston favorite continue to evolve while still delivering the same great experience that's kept me coming back for years. Definitely one of my go-to spots on Memorial Drive. My only suggestion is to tell the younger staff members to be conscious of their conversations while guest are dining nearby. I love people watching but I heard a lot of things. It appears Hungry's uses the bar area like a break/training room or to do other tasks like rolling utensils in napkins.

Service was amazing-- we loved our waiter who was a combination of polite, funny, and knowledgeable, and everyone gave us a smile. All the dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful but definitely on the heavier side. - Beet salad (5/5)-- wow, never had a beet salad like this one before! So much flavor with a tanginess from vinegar sweetened by the blueberries and beets. The beets didn't taste very earthy (aka like dirt) compared to most beet salad. This was really well executed :) - Caesar salad (3.5/5)-- Credence's spin on Caesar, which according to my Caesar salad pro diner, didn't really taste like Caesar salad. Also very tangy and tart but the pro still enjoyed it as a salad dish. - Roasted cabbage (4/5)-- big fan of the way they roasted this, perfect tenderness without being cabbage mush! Definitely a heavy dish, especially for a vegetable option, as it was swimming in a butter cream sauce that started to congeal as it cooled off. Would choose this more as an indulgent appetizer rather than a healthy veggie option. I wonder if one could ask for the sauce on the side... - Tuna tostada (3.5/5)-- if you like strong flavors, this one packs a punch. The gochujang aioli beneath the tuna is really concentrated, making it difficult to taste the actual tuna. There's a bit of heat but thankfully I wouldn't say it was spicy. Fun to try. The tostada itself was very dense and almost a bit bread-y versus a crispy chip texture. - Crab fried rice (4/5)-- comes with lobster foam that is mixed table side and a generous amount of crabmeat lumps. The rice actually had a nice texture without being too... grainy / individualized, but it was too salty for me. - Akaushi Wagyu beef (4.5/5)-- loved the texture which was tender but with some chew (was expecting more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture though) and the veggies that it came with. It was heavily salted, too much so for me. Would've been perfect with less salt since there's already a chimichurri sauce with it. - Peanut butter tart (4.5/5)-- peanut butter lovers rejoice! The chocolate filling was rich, thick, and sweet which was complemented nicely with the whipped cream (not sweet at all). The peanut flavor really shined. The crust didn't have much of a taste by itself and was sandy in texture, not sure if on purpose or over-baked and dried out. Either way, the tart looked impressive when it arrived and was delectable-- my favorite bite of the night! Overall a nice experience! Although there was a mess up and the rest of our two salads and crab rice wasn't packed with our other food to take home; I was pretty sad about that since it was quite a bit of food (and $$). I might return for that peanut butter tart, but everything else was too heavy and too salty for me. I'm personally not a huge butter fan, but if you are, definitely make a reservation for a special occasion or date!

The music is a mix of EDM, Hip-hop, Rap, and R&B. They have tables and bar top seating. If you have a bigger group, I'm sure you can find a table depending on the time you arrive. There is a lot of seating. To start off, I ordered the Matcha Martini. It was STRONG omg, definitely a sipper, but it was so good. It was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I love how they added matcha powder on top. For drinks, I also tried their espresso martini and Bubbly Pineapple. The espressos here are good, no complaints. The Bubbly Pineapple is so cute; it comes out with a bubble of smoke you can pop. The drink is very refreshing; it really tastes like pineapple. FYI, the drink has little black seeds, so if you don't like textures in your drink, maybe this one isn't for you. Also the drink came with a little frozen pineapple you can add to your drink once you pop the bubble As an appetizer, I got a dozen raw oysters and decided to add the $5 tobiko (fish eggs). Let me say, they were not stingy with the Tobiko, there was so much on my Oysters, I mean a lot! The oysters were good, and so was the tobiko, but I feel that with so much tobiko, it kind of took away from the oysters. Still good though, especially for $21 for the dozen with the tobiko! It was very filling I'm not gonna lie, I got pretty full with the oysters, but I still had to eat my entree As an entree, I ordered the Short Ribs, which came with rice and a side salad. I didn't think I was going to eat much of my entree since the oysters had filled me up, but I ate the short ribs down to the bone! Every single one of those ribs I devoured, no meat was left on my plate. I didn't have space to eat, but my stomach made space for this. 10/10 would recommend the short ribs, especially with the delicious sauce it came with. I think it's like a fish sauce 10/10 for food and drinks. Bonus: the staff here is really friendly. I really enjoyed my time here. I need to come more often for sure, this is definitely a Katy gem
