I ordered a toasted veggie egg white omelette, Mac and cheese bites, and an adult thin mint milkshake for the dessert, Nutella banana stuffed french toast. The egg white omelette was good, I liked the veggies. I had to pay extra for the cheese but I got pepperjack! The home fries were okay, but nothing special. The Mac and cheese bites were good but it was weird they used spirals rather than elbow! The nacho cheese dipping sauce was good but I wish marinara was an option as well. The milk shake was good but very large! It was $10 but no one needs $10 worth of milkshake-- would have been better off with a $5 shake. The Nutella french toast was really good, it tasted like the bananas were caramelized in honey. It looked beautiful. Overall my experience was delicious!! Used to be my favorite place in high school. It's gone downhill. They had this weird fusion jar that was pretty grungy looking, I would NOT ever take a shot out of there. The food was okay, I wasn't impressed. This place is good if you want some novelty food like the "Big Daddy Fatty Burger" or the "Junkyard Burger", if you like that kind of thing this place is pretty good. The beer had been sitting in the tap for too long, had a very unpleasant taste. Replaced it with a Mango Margarita, it was way too sweet and not mixed very well. Dishes are extremely overpriced for the food and service quality. I ordered a plain American burger with a side of salad greens because it was one of the cheaper items on the menu ($10). The waiter was really eager to take my order (bothering me every two minutes for my order even though it takes far longer to go through the large, extensive, and mind-numbing menu). After placing my order, I had to wait over thirty minutes for my order to arrive, despite being one of the few customers in the restaurant. When the food finally came, I was less than satisfied. The bun was soggy, the toppings were messily piled on top of the burger to make the sandwich larger, and the patty was greasy and falling apart. Overall, a pain to eat and not worth the struggle and price. The side of salad greens was just a handful of lettuce. Nothing more, nothing less. Due to the greasy and salty nature of my meal, I was incredibly dehydrated and was hoping for a refill on my small mason jar of water. Many waiters constantly came by to try and take away my plate or push me to order dessert and pay, but no one ever refilled my water...even after asking several times! Overall, TERRIBLE service and a DISAPPOINTING meal. All appetizers are at least $10 and sandwiches can be up to $18, which is absolutely ridiculous for the quantity and quality of the food. So sad to say it was awful. We waited for 5 minutes as they took their time clearing off a table. The bathroom floor was soaking wet that two members of our party almost fell. Our waitress was clearly having a rough day and the owner was continuously stopping her and yelling at her throughout our time there. She did not give us menus when we sat down and never came back to offer or ask. The beer was flat and the espresso martini was undrinkable. We sent them all back. The owner walked around the entire time, looking at us and walking around but we never once took the time to talk to anyone besides yelling at his staff who was clearly stretched too thin. I've read some of the negative reviews and I'm truly confused. I've never had a bad experience at Dish 'N Dat. My most recent visit was for a friend's birthday. Our "several minute" wait turned out to be less than one, and our waitress was really nice. She says she didn't, but I really do hope she didn't take it to heart when she told me they were sold out of corned beef hash and I legitimately accidentally knocked my water glass in her direction. For the records, I opted for the lobster mac and cheese instead, and although one of the pricier items on the menu, it was delicious and lobster was plentiful! The menu is fun and varied, and sometimes the hardest part is figuring out whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or just skipping to dessert. The bathroom is clean with one of the neater sinks I've seen in Connecticut. Plus, it's located in the middle of a shopping plaza, so you can take a store and work off your meal while window shopping. read more

We stopped into Dish n' Dat for brunch on a Saturday around noon. We were surprised that it seemed mostly empty. Our waitress was friendly and we ordered eggs Benedict, an omelette, an order of cinnamon roll pancakes, and tots. The eggs Benedict was good and the yolks were perfect but it could have used a bit more hollandaise. My omelette was good, but the ham was giant dry cubes that looked a bit like chicken. Definitely tasted like ham though. The tots were crispy and delicious. The cinnamon roll pancakes are where my complaints is. It was around $10 for 3 and in the restaurant they were covered in glaze. The top pancake was cinnamon swirl but the bottom two were plain. I struggled to understand how only the top pancake was cinnamon swirl for that price. And the bottom one was burned. But they were still good. I'd probably rather order them as desert though. I wouldn't mind going back, but would ask questions before ordering a special dish like the cinnamon swirl pancakes. read more

Cool little place. The menu suits any palate and is quite extensive, anything from omelettes all day to milkshakes and scropian bowls, you are guaranteed to find something to eat or drink here. Family oriented, an old Pacman arcade game stands in a hallway to the bathrooms sending a throwback to old school arcade days back to you. I was a little nervous by the large menu presented to us at Dish n' Dat... I mean how can I figure out what they specialize in? Thankfully everything we ordered was good! The restaurant wasn't very busy on Saturday at 4pm so we could easily grab a table outside and enough a leisure lunch dinner. I was happy when our waitress greeted us with the Happy Hour menu in hand. She was also very knowledgable with the menu and steered us in the right direction! I started with a red sangria... not amazing but doable and I'm super picky about my sangrias! The size of the sangria was LARGE and worth the price. We also grabbed some tater tots on the happy hour menu. The proportion of the tater tots was sharable, we both joked that it was the entire freezer bag cooked and served to us, again great amount for $6! For my meal I got the lamb burger which was done perfectly and was full of flavor. I left happy and full! I will definitely stop back to try out their breakfast! read more

This place has been pretty good but now that they moved to a new location they must be trying to save money. I ordered a chicken salad wrap for $12 and my wrap was about 4" long and 2" diameter. Barely the size of an egg roll. We complained about it mildly and didn't expect any compensation but did expect an acknowledgement that our concerns were valid. That didn't happen and I'd expect the next time we go there a minuscule portion will still be served The drinks are good and the prices are reasonable and competitive. At the old location they used to offer Guinness on draft but now it's served in a can. Nowhere in the Canton area other than the Grindstone in Collinsville are you able to find Guinness on tap so this was a mistake (for me anyway) to eliminate. We will come back and give it another shot because luckily for them they have no competition in Canton. The food was tasty but sparse. I love dish n dat for breakfast! We used to come often, but it is pretty pricey. I always get the healthy choice omelette with egg whites and tater totos, which costs $16. I think they increased the price recently. The food is consistently good and I love taking family there on Sunday mornings. This morning we had breakfast for 9 (4 adults and 5 kids). They first brought out mini strawberry and chocolate chip muffins as a complimentary appetizer. My sister and I both ordered the $4 spicy bloody mary on happy hour special (9am-12pm on Sunday mornings). It was pretty watered down, not spicy at all. But for $4, I'm not going to complain too much. The food came quickly and our waitress was patient for the most part. She was good with the kids at first, but got slightly impatient with them ordering second drinks for some reason (And no, it's not because my nephews were misbehaving- they were polite and were great, as they always are when we go out with them). Anyway, I'm sad to see that this place has such low ratings. It's a standard diner that's overpriced, but necessary in our area, since there's nothing else around that's like it. Very odd mix which, with the layout of the interior, gives the place a bit of a haphazard vibe, we had a special appetizer which was way to overcooked. I came here a while ago and was severely disappointed. My boyfriend and best friend have never been and suggested it for dinner so I said why not give it a second chance? We started with milkshakes and at 7.50 a piece I was hesitant. They weren't exceptionally large for the price but they had a good consistency and flavor. We got the "Ridiculous Garbage Can" as an appetizer, this comes with 2 small but pretty flavorful chicken tenders, 4 TINY mozzarella sticks, a handful of very delicious tator tots, and a good portion of crispy French fries. This all comes to $16. You mostly get fries, I don't consider it worth it based on the size and quality of the items included with the fries. We ordered a Wild Wild West Burger which was good overall besides being a bit on oily side. A Hangover Burger, the fried hash brown was SO SALTY it was inedible. The cole slaw tasted like dish water. And a Mac n Rib melt/sandwich. Which is mac and cheese served on toast. Don't let them fool you- there was no pulled pork to be found. And the "Texas toast" was literally just like white bread. The potato salad was excellent. All of these meals came at $16. Wouldn't be offended by the price if the food wasn't below average and just... mediocre. The ketchup tasted sour- like it had been left in the sun all day and the pickles taste like the ocean (maybe some people are in to that) Safe to say that I most likely would not come back here. Off-lunch (around 2:30 ish), very slow, very empty. Sat at the bar. Had the opportunity to look over the bar, cracking, dirty, sticky, seats are worn, floor dirty, just all over needed a good cleaning and fixing up. Bartender absent for about 20 minutes. So we're already not off to a good start, dirty, empty, missing service. Now I understand working in restaurants that it's off-time for getting side work done, so I can't berate her for it, when she did come back, she was friendly and attentive. I ordered the buffalo mac and cheese. The little salad it comes with, hardly more than a few leafs of lettuce on a hot plate, and mostly mostly bitters for salad, wasn't all that impressive. The mac and cheese itself, absolutely nothing to write home about. Franks Red hot mixed in with what had the consistence of bagged/frozen mac and cheese with crumbled blu cheese and frozen chicken tenders cut up. This place just can't be any worse than it is. Under strong suspicions, I hesitantly returned because my boyfriend wanted breakfast late on the weekend. Begrudgingly, I obliged and wound up with this crapfest of a restaurant if you can even call it that. He was on the fence before. I am happy to report he hates it just as much as I do now. We both ordered clam chowder which at this establishment means mushy potatoes, hot spots in the stew (not chowder) and let's not forget to mention the carrots and bacon they threw in as well. There is no mention of bacon in the soup anywhere on the menu. I didn't care for it which is astounding because bacon goes with everything, right? No. It doesn't. Just take it out. It is god-awful. Because everything is outrageously overpriced, we chose to get soup and apps. We have eaten here before. We don't mind paying for food that is good. But honestly, who charges $22 for Mac 'n Cheese? $16 for a Reuben with fries? Give me a break. We order the Spinach Artichoke Dip and Nachos with no Jalepenos. Food comes 20 minutes later and the nachos are covered with jalapenos. Waiter takes it back and our waitress comes over and after she figures out it was sent back because of the peppers she then comes back and informs us that there is additionally jalapenos in the chili that is on the nachos. So, now that makes TWO items that are not listed that should be, on the menu. There is just no way around it. The food is mediocre, the prices are outrageous, the only thing remotely interesting about this place is that it is always busy. And that interests me because I spend all my free time thinking "WHY?" Just avoid at all costs. Your pallette and wallet will thank me. One star for the 12 year old boy that sat us in the corner booth at the back of the place. It might just mean they're buying cheap ingredients from poor suppliers. This is Diner quality at restaurant prices. A cheese steak grinder, a pulled pork sandwich with tater tots and two coffees came to $38.00 not including the tip! Lunch food for $46 dollars? This place is a dynamite diner. I'm there regularly for comfort food. The service is good but the food can come slowly, it's all made to order. The quality of the food is very good for diner fare. The breakfasts are awesome, and you can get them any time of day. The atmosphere is retro-50's, lots of old music. We went there in person a week ago and the experience was great. Exactly 1 week later we tried them again, but this time for take out, and it was inedible!!! In addition, the onion rings were not even their onion rings, they were some nasty frozen variety, and were completely BURNT AND GREASY! They were completely inedible! We ordered 2 other side orders of onion rings which was $18, They were a bit greasy, but more consistent with what we got in the restaurant. We also ordered a specialty fried pickle burger (pink) with fries, and the fries were all that could be consumed. It was so bad, we had to throw it out. The 3rd meal was a Seashore crispy fish platter (the ultimate fried seafood combo) for $23 worth of COMPLETELY WORTHLESS FOOD!!! I honestly dont understand how this was let out of the kitchen!!! Ive never seen anything so bad in my life! The clam strps were black and unconsumable, the fish was also burned an dried out, somehow the shrimp managed to make it out alive, and so did the fries. We had also ordered a bowl of chili, but got some creamy nutmeg smelling concoction i can only assume was supposed to be a soup or breakfast pourage, that we also threw out, an wound up costing us an additional $9 to feed the trash bin. Came here one weekend for their chicken and waffles and I won't be going back. First, I thought the service was poor - the waitress was obviously tired and unhappy to have more customers come in. Everyone has tough days, but even if I give her a pass, the food didn't make up for it. The chicken was dry and the waffle was just ok. My kids love this place. Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but the waitstaff has always been friendly. I have eaten here at least a dozen times in the past year, with large groups (8 or more), date night (just my hubby and I), and with my family (4 total) and have generally had a positive experience each time. I have Celiac and several severe food allergies, and this is one restaurant I can say I can safely eat. We sat at the bar and ordered .50 cent wings, onion strings, and drinks. Food was served quickly, tasty, wings were good, but not the best I have ever had. Once we finished our apps. we ordered a burger which is fresh and hand packed there. They offer tons of different toppings, however I kept it basic and just had Swiss on it. Upon arrival, it looked like a cool, hip diner type restaurant that would bring joy to my palate. It really did not. We started with apps. My pretty partner in crime went with the hummus plate while I opted for the potato skins. The hummus plate was a heavy dish (literally and figuratively). The chips offered for dipping were apparently fried and salted as they certainly tasted that way. Hummus was indeed fresh, though. And the veggies provided were also crisp and well presented. On the other hand, I had the potato skins. Told I was getting a plate of EIGHT, I got a plate of FOUR---each sliced in half. While 4x2 = 8, 4 halves x 2 does not. That equals 4. I felt ripped off. Entrees were served. I opted for the meatloaf. It was a very small portion, served on top of a barely there serving of mashed potatoes with broccoli rabe as a garnish/side. The small portion was oddly seasoned and had a peppery and bitter taste. The broccoli rabe was VERY bitter. My dining partner had a salad with a falafel burger. She was moderately happy with the meal, but felt the burger was overcooked and bland. While the establishment is indeed a clean, bright and airy place, the food served is decidedly meh. We didn't bother with dessert, paid our bill and wandered off into the night. The staff is friendly and prompt, and does not allow your drink to stay empty for long. Our server was a delight. One of the best Eggs Benedicts I've ever had here for brunch. The eggs were poached perfectly, the hollandaise was rich and flavorful, the Canadian bacon was easy to cut through, and the English muffin was toasted and buttered to perfection. I'm surprised at the overall rating of this establishment. I had lunch with a friend and I'd rate my sandwich a solid 4 and she gave hers a 4.5. Since we split our sandwiches, I agree that her option.: the grilled Brie, Apple slices and walnuts on wheat was delicious and my choice: a grilled chicken breast, Brie, and arugula on ciabatta was quite tasty though a little messy as the roll was a bit too soft to handle the contents. Each was served with a substantial side; I chose a mixed green salad dressed with balsamic which my friend enjoyed a large serving of potato salad. Prices are a little high for a sandwich but with the accompanying side, it seemed a fair enough price. The atmosphere is bright , open and inviting. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. Nice servers. GIANT menu. Like seriously...so many choices, too many choices. I think that's part of the problem. Too many items for everything to be "fresh". My fish sandwich was on a nicely grilled roll, with a tasty tartar sauce but the "beer battered cod filet" was tiny and frozen. It didn't even fit the roll. The fish inside was the opposite of flaky and white (what one expects in a fish filet). The side of homemade potato salad was a very generous portion and it was absolutely homemade. My husband's burger was fine, the side of thick cut onion rings were ok, but also seemed frozen. ‍ Nothing special. We ordered the special apple fritters for dessert, and those were tasty...the ones that were cooked through. Two of them were still doughy in the middle.
