Nice view and good food. Something that set it apart was the portobello fries. Those were so good, we had to order another plate they were so delicious. The flat iron steak was very tasty and cooked just right. I asked for medium and got it. The fish and chips were ok, nothing special but yummy enough. Well, I should say that the chips part, the French fried, were yummy and cooked just right. Great seasoning on those fries too. They have a good hard huckleberry lemonade; I've had better but this one is good. Service was great. Tabby was a wonderful server: friendly, timely and offered good suggestions. The hostess was friendly, and went arriving making sure everyone had water and seeing if there was anything we needed. After dinner, when we were full, it was nice to take a walk along the water. We won't be making the drive from Post Falls often just to eat here, but once in awhile for special occasions, we'll be back. read more

Went to DISH after an evening of tubing at Schweitzer on NYE. Food was good, service of staff was timely and friendly, and seasonal options were robust. The only downside is that the space does not seem to feature any soundboard or anything, so when it's busy (like on a holiday) it is very difficult to hear your family/friends even sitting next to you. This was the only downside but was kind of a big one for us. read more

The food is delicious! From the brine and flavoring on the pork to the wild prawns with jasmine rice and cheese curds appetizer - you can't go wrong! My family of 13 people (with picky kids) all found something delicious to have. And our plates all came out at the exact same time which shows amazing kitchen management! Our server, Clint, was professional, friendly and funny and knows the menu offerings well. He and the bussers and kitchen staff made our visit to Dish a really successful one. We stopped by DISH the other afternoon for some drinks and a snack during a day on the boat. We were seated quickly (requested outside & they made it happen although they were busy), and had a very nice waiter. We got a cider, a cocktail, and a few non-alcoholic drinks. My fiancé ordered the avocado fries & they were delicious and came out quickly! My drink was mediocre, I'm not sure if I just ordered wrong or if it just wasn't anything to write home about. I still enjoyed it as a refreshing beverage on a warm day. The tab was very reasonably priced, and we enjoyed our time sitting out on the back deck with a view of the river. read more

1st, I eat here A LOT and have usually had a great experience...however, as it is summer and touristy, I called ahead this weekend and was told they had a super long wait & week days were better (and they usually had walk in available). Boated down the following Monday night 6:50pm....Pretty empty with 1/2 full restaurant and more tables empty than full. "Sorry, no tables until 7:30" said the waitress, not looking sorry at all (I get that she probably had a long day at this point). We left with a REALLY hungry 7 year old to boat back home, and most likely wont make much of an effort to come back in the off season. read more

We went here for Valentine's dinner with another couple. Everything we had was outstanding including the service. There were some great specials. My friend got the halibut and really enjoyed that. The rest of us ordered steaks and they were delicious. We will definitely be going back soon. read more

My wife and I took both sets of parents here within a week and it was reliably good both times. when we have family visit from out of town, we try to take them to nice places for dinner like hydra or sweet lous but we always leave other restaurants embarassed. this was not the case for the dish. the menu looks like it came out of california but the competence is approaching france. pre-covid flavors at post-covid prices. you wont have leftovers. read more

If you want to hang out on a sun filled patio and have a few drinks, I highly recommend coming here. If you want five star priced food with a three star taste, then yes indeed eat here. The food is great and the desert is even better. The flourless is tasty! The ambiance outside is nice. There's a view of the river. If the wrought iron was lower, the view would be even better. We've always had good service here. Be patient though, they are usually very busy. read more

My wife and oldest son and his wife just had dinner at Dish tonight. I didn't have it but the 8 oz filet looked awesome. And by all accounts was. It came with three sides that looked like deep fried mashed potatoes and peas and mushrooms. Looked great but I wasn't really hungry and just had appetizer. Beautiful evening on the deck overlooking Lake Pend O'Reille and great service by a very busy wait crew. The place was hopping for an off season night. Great cheesecake for dessert also. read more

Yesterday I brought my out of town guests and could not have predicted such a wonderful experience. I recently there. The signs outside said they " loved " dogs.... but oh they don't want ur dogs in the dogs on a leash... or anywhere !!!?they don't allow dogs in the door or restaurant!!!? "Too many people bit "... then don't put the sign on the door that u " loved dogs " I went into r bar to order and hostess bitchy ! Says go order at the bar ... ask for a glass for my wine ( oh I AM NOT FROM CALIFONIA OREGON OR WASHINGTON!!!) and the waitress gave me a glass ! Nice ! Then I came back in an a total ... ASSHOLE guy said I could NOT not take the glass that I had for the last half hour BACK OUT THE DOOR ! Totally asshole .. ! I am 56 yr old ! Not some 20 or 30 year old ! We have been wanting to stop at Dish at Dover Bay for a long time so we finally did! Beautiful Dover Bay (my dad use to work at the old mill that use to be there) was a little nostalgic for me. We were seated right away out on the patio to enjoy a summer day. The views of the POR and the mountains are amazing and the marina is bustling with boaters etc. We had cheese curds, drinks, buffalo meatloaf which came on a bed of fries (Interesting choice of side to serve with it) not sure the chef or cooks logic on that. But hubby enjoyed it. Friends had burger and fries and fish tacos they liked their dishes as well, I ordered the pork tacos which I don't remember reading they were fried. So I probably would not have ordered them. Pork carnitas are best served with soft tortillas in my book. Fried avacado wedges were good. Our server who brought us drinks was super friendly our server who came after that not as much and was not as attentive maybe just some training and experience as they go along. All in all we would give dish another go to try some dinner menu items. read more

Yet another place we'll be returning to in order to try a different menu item. We walked in and were seated on the outdoor patio promptly. It was a bit confusing as to whom worked there and who wasn't as we were greeted by a hostess at the kiosk but then a gal nearby in street clothes and sunglasses seated us. Menus were delivered by one young lady and water was brought by another. Great teamwork! We did wait a little while before being greeted apologetically by our waitress, yet another, whom did not give her name but was very sweet and pleasant. We could tell it had been a very busy day for her and we were arriving at the last hour before closing time. We ordered everything we wanted at once since we had time to look everything over well, but being we arrived late in the day they were out of a couple things. The waitress was so sweet she offered to buy us our appetizer since she felt she took too long to come to the table and that they were out of the taco style I wanted. Not necessary but a nice gesture. The boneless crispy burbon chicken "wings" were saucy and scrumptious. The DISH famous bloody mary was a perfect blend of flavors although he only received 2 prawns when the menu states 3. At the $16 price for that, I wish I had been aware of that at the time. I found out you can order one without prawns as I'm not a seafood fan, but it will aslo not have the premium vodka either. We both ordered the tacos as it is their Tuesday special that includes a house margarita, also perfectly balanced and tasty. They were out of the pork tacos so I had the chicken flautas. It is nice that they offer 4 choices for your taco selection. I wasn't real impressed with the flautas as I have never had them before and didn't know what to expect. I'm not a fan of mushy textures and didn't know it was ground chicken. But they were perfectly fried and flaky. My fiancee had the Mahi Mahi tacos and said they were very good and seasoned with a sort of cajun seasoning. Our waitress asked if we wanted to hear about the desserts and I reluctantly told her I would like to as I saw the adjacent table's delivery just moments before. Some time passed and she brought us the bill assuming we were going to pass on desert but she must have read the dissappointed look on my face and quickly retrieved the slip and took our desert order of the tantalizing huckleberry lemon cheesecake...which they were out of. LOL So we got the raspberry crumble with a dip of icecream on the side instead. It arrived warmed and a decent serving to split for two! Satisfied. As a side note: We were presented with a $20 bill via the waitress explaining that the gentleman a table over (whom left and was a regular) wanted to gift us because he saw how long it had taken for us to be greeted by our waitress. We were in no hurry nor bothered by the fact but very surprised by this random act of kindness. I've never had that experience before. So thank you very much to whomever felt generous to reach out. All in all, it wasn't the perfect date night by any means but the nice weather, beautiful views, great company, a sweet waitress, a random act of kindness, and a nice fuzzy liquor buzz, is more than enough to prompt us to return to try again. This will definitely be one of my new date night spots with the hubby! Amazing food and scenery/location on the water. The crab wontons are amazing - crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with that super yummy sweet chili sauce. I had the halibut dinner which was to die for! I literally ate every morsel on my plate. I tried my moms flat iron steak which was extremely tender and perfectly prepared. My parents come here often and have never had a bad meal. I expect the same experience from here on out! Can't wait to return again and again! read more

Great location. Beautiful setting on the outside patio. The service was excellent. The reason for the three stars is the taste of food. Food taste is my number one reason for going out. Not the ambience and not the service. Our party of two ordered the calamari as an appetizer and mahi-mahi tacos as our entrée. The pleadings were very nice and inviting. However there was zero flavor in either item. The calamari was actually calamari steak cut into planks and deep-fried, which was cooked well and tender, however, it only had pepper on it and there was no salt and no seasoning at all in the breading. There was not enough dipping sauce, which waas bottled, and did not go with the calamari at all. The tacos were put together nicely with very fresh ingredients, however, again, there was zero flavoring. I don't think they salted anything. The only flavor was in the crème fraiche on the top of the taco. Other than that there was no seasoning at all. As a matter of fact I just rolled it in my mouth trying to taste any flavor and got none. I won't return even for the view. read more

This is absolutely one of the very best restaurants in the Sandpoint area. The dinner menus change seasonably and always includes a creative variety of seafood, chicken, beef, pork, and pasta dishes. The views in summer are unforgettable and we keep coming back in winter for the food. My favorites are-- seared ahi, mushroom fries, all of their soups and salads, and the steelhead trout (sometimes prepared with an Asian influence, sometimes a French influence). Their carrot soup with spicy basil oil and the cauliflower bisque are my favorite of their soups. Reservations highly recommended in summer. read more

Ordered the Dan Dan Noodles. The texture was not good. They were served almost cold. I think they were under cooked. The spicy sauce was so sweet I could not eat my meal. 5 bites and I was done. The food is incredible! I've had several of the salads, which are large, tasty, and very satisfying as a meal, but what I tend to lean towards is their seafood entrees. I've had their Mahi Mahi tacos on more than one occasion because they are SO GOOD. The cilantro lime sour cream makes those tacos. I can't get enough! Last week, I tried the Sweet Chili Grilled pawns - 6 HUGE prawns with sweet chili sauce and a wasabi creme fraiche that, although spicy, was more than thoroughly enjoyable. Let's just say my plate was clean. My daughter likes their veggie root burger, which I stole a bite of- delicious! The service here is always with a smile, and even some laughter. Everyone there wants you to enjoy the food and the view, which is easy to do....the lake is right outside the door! Beautiful...you can't go wrong. read more

Very good service. In terms of menu- 2 things worth mentioning: Cajun clam chowder (excellent! Not spicy so you can adjust to your taste or give your child); and calamari- have not had this version yet. Meat is soft and tender; almost steamed and not deep fried. I almost cried when Dish closed, I kid you not. When my husband said they had reopened at Dover Bay, I was elated. Gary is the manager and wine buyer there and knows his stuff (and really, I'll admit it, I have a very unsophisticated wine pallet). The New Age white wine is the perfect summer wine. Gary suggested it with ice and lime and I've been drinking it that way ever since. As if that wasn't enough, I have never had a single bad thing there. The ribs were fall of the bone tender. The JFK salad is my favorite salad anywhere. There really is so much to love. The patio is beautiful. A magical summer hangout. I hope they do Shepards pie as the weather cools off.
