Well worth the drive around the lake to this floating restaurant amongst the boats at the Hope Marina. Party of 2, here for an early dinner so the sun was in great position for most everyone to be sitting outside under the shade umbrellas. Beautiful day and view of the water. The backside of the restaurant is basically completely open with big glass doors so even if you are seated inside, you're still outside. The bar is also open to the outdoor seating. Our server, Corrine, was friendly and attentive. We started with an absolutely outstanding Baja Shrimp Cocktail appetizer with in-house made guacamole & chili poached shrimp. Divine. I had a Mama's Fresca vodka splash and Hubs had the Huckleberry Lemonade cocktail, both perfect for enjoying the sunny day. Good mix of families, couples, and big groups. The food was alright - we had the calamari and baha shrimp cocktail. The calamari was OK, not as crispy as I wanted. The shrimp cocktail was good - the guacamole that it was served on was delicious. Nothing better than being on the lake and taking the boat to go eat a wonderful meal and enjoying a drink. We enjoy ordering a few appetizers as our meal cuz they are so good. This has indoor or outdoor dining and a lot of guest boat parking. The kindness of the waiter/waitress is always top notch so I always end up leaving a great tip. read more

The only reason I have rated the experience a 5-star is I cannot rate it 10+ stars! We just returned from dining at The Float House. In my humble opinion, we had the most spectacular restaurant dinner we've enjoyed in a very long time. My cousins live in North Idaho and we're visiting. They picked the restaurant as it is one of their favorites. Back home in Columbus, OH, I'm known as a fairly decent cook, but first and foremost I'm a foodie when we travel. Life is too short to have a mediocre meal!! The food prepared by Eddie and the staff in his kitchen thoroughly impressed me. So let me tell you about the experience. The ambiance at The Float House is fabulous. We dined outside on a lovely late spring evening. Danielle was our lovely server and did a good job answering our questions and making suggestions. Her service was excellent and she checked on us from time to time to see how we were doing. Audrey is a doll and she seated us and later took our photo outside the restaurant. Now for the food...we started out with the calamari which was delicious. No mini squids and rings, these are meaty calamari fingers! The sauce was delicious. We also had a rosemary buttered baguette with garlic, accompanied by whipped bleu cheese, incredible smoked onion jam and pickled tomatoes. Throw carb counting to the wind and order it!! My husband loves pork and the grilled pork ribeye dish topped with a corn relish and served with green beans and smashed potatoes was perfect for him. The smashed potatoes are absolutely delicious. My cousins chose the blackened salmon salad and a nightly special of rib eye steak and smashed potatoes. She didn't choose to have green beans as she cannot eat legumes. I had the other nightly special of Ling Cod with garlic scape pesto, lemon beurre blanc, pickled tomatoes and scallion rice and perfectly prepared green beans. OMG!!! It was incredible and I am not exaggerating!! We enjoyed the "adult" version of Huckleberry Lemonade with Tito vodka. Dessert was creme brulee and a blueberry crumble with vanilla ice cream. We may not be back this way soon, but if ever we are, we are definitely going to dine at the Float House. Good job Eddie and the staff of the restaurant. Maybe a bad day for the cook? Two orders of Eggs Benedict and both were disappointing. The poached eggs were overcooked, skimpy serving of hollandaise sauce, and you couldn't cut through the muffins! The side of fruit was meh, the oranges were old. The staff was nice. The ambiance was great. The weather was beautiful for the outside seating. Not sure if a return visit is in order. read more

We enjoyed an amazing Sunset evening dinner at this floating restaurant on Pend Oreille Lake in Hope yesterday. I enjoyed the steelhead salmon in my wife loved the steak. Food price / quality (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is "boat club". This restaurant is basically a large dock with a restaurant sitting on top of it. There's nothing unusual about the design or decor, which is pretty bland overall. The menu is an eclectic mix of tavern type foods, burgers, salads, fries. They offer some very interesting twists to what would normally be your standard pub fare, and the prices were very reasonable considering the location and local competition. I started with a Jalapeno Margherita that was a unique balance of spicy and sweet, a really unique combo. We split a Jalapeno Burger that was very spicy as expected, and was excellent. The fries were cooked well-done as requested, a feat that some restaurants seem to be unable to achieve. Frequently , we're so excited to eat that I forget to take photos of our meal, but the burger was prepared and presented beautifully. Our server, April, whose ready smile and acerbic wit brought some laughs to what is usually the mundane event of having a meal. They have a large outdoor seating area which allows customers to enjoy the cool lake breezes. The business is seasonal, and they're only open about seven months of the year. The drive to this place is a beautiful shoreline ride along Pend Oteillle Lake, with sweeping mountain views and endless Idaho skies. A great experience I'd recommend to everyone! read more

We ate here for Fathers Day and the food was absolutely delicious. The starters were so good and the fish tacos were unique and fresh. Sadly we were too full on all the starters and our main entrees to try the desserts but we will come back and sample those next time!. My family and I were looking forward to trying The Float House since we usually go to Beyond Hope Pearl restaurant. Emily the Manager was so rude to not only us, but to multiple parties ahead of us. We put our name on the list and decided to wait until we heard her on the phone with a customer. She was so rude and then made fun of the customer after she hung up. I worked in restaurants for years and have never seen such more customer service. She was training Ashley the host and they both couldn't even smile or apologize for their poor behavior in front of their customers. We got back on our boat and went to Beyond Hope, Pearl and had the most amazing service like we always do! read more

We have eaten here twice and had friends tell us about eating here. Everyone is happy with the quality of the food and service. Floating on the lake gives it a unique feel as one can occasionally feel the water movement. Surrounded by the marina gives it a nautical ambience. My husband loved the steak and smashed potatoes. I enjoyed the chili chicken one day and a chicken salad the next time. By far, our favorite is the dulce de leche dessert.
