This place is under relatively new ownership. Service has improved steadily over time, and the food is excellent. Just had the salmon dinner. WOW!!! I was so good I actually considered ordering a second one. We were also here for the crab feed a few months ago. It was also an excellent meal with friends. read more

I booked a reservation online for my birthday. I called several times for several days leading up to that and there was no return. Call nobody ever answered. I showed up from my reservation and there was a note on the door that said we are closed for maintenance. Google, yelp, fb, website and their voice mail all said open. read more

This place was recommended to us by a local who told us the food was excellent! One of the best in the area, he told us. We decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint! The location is beautifully situated on the lake. There was plenty of parking and it was easy to get to. Make sure to make reservations as this place fills up quickly. They had live music which was nice to listen to while we enjoyed our delicious food and beautiful view. The service was friendly and prompt. We ordered the Cauliflower Grilled cheese, the Strawberry Fields with chicken, the Pan Seared Salmon with a side of the Parmesan cheese fries and the Parmesan sweet potato fries! Everything was delicious! Definitely plan to go back and try some more menu items! read more

I'm not sure how Chef Josh and the Drift crew could possibly get a review below 4 stars (unless it was done by some typically entitled, snot nosed, Californians from Bakersfield who have no idea what they are talking about). We have eaten here several times, and the service has always been stellar, the food outstanding and all this with spectacular views to boot. Chef Josh and his crew of dedicated cooks, hosts, servers, bussers, and dishwashers, have resurrected this little gem, and made it better than ever! The naysayers who have left negative reviews here are obviously clueless about the way things are here in the Idaho panhandle. Entitled, spoiled-brat whiners need not apply. On to the food: I will echo one reviewers sentiment about the burger and sweet potato fries. Excellent! We've also had the charred shrimp cocktail, Ahi tartare , chilies gueritos, Asian chicken chop salad, and the lamb dip... All so delicious! In a word, this place is the whole package! Do yourself a favor, and make Drift Lakeside Kitchen and Bar your next destination for breakfast, lunch or dinner! You will not be disappointed! Lastly, gentlemen, make sure you visit the men's room while you are here. The urinal is a particular highlight! read more

Ate here for the 1st time with my wife and inlaws and it's an amazing place. Staff was friendly and informative. Food was fabulous and since the chef was eating his own burger we figured we couldn't go wrong so had the burger and sweet potato fries from their Sunday menu which is slighty smaller since they serve a brunch from open to 3pm. The drink menu has some great choices and the make some great drinks. Will definitely be back for some of their regular menu items. Thank you for such great service. read more

We were told right away that they were short of staff... no problem, we understood. Unfortunately though it seemed as though our table was completely invisible. We watched as the other tables were served and we were continued to be ignored. Our waitress took our drink order and food order... that was the last we saw of her until the very end. We had 4 huckleberry lemonades, (I guess that was our first mistake). The other tables ordered alcohol and were well attended. Btw we got there before 4 of the other tables were there. An hour after we ordered, the chef brought our appetizer and apologized for the wait. It took another hour for us to get our food brought by someone other than our waitress. By the time our food got there no one was hungry and the food was not as good as it was before. The fish and chips were inedible. Caesar salad had no flavor. We packed up some of the items, left the fish and chips and salad. We would have ordered more huckleberry lemonades if we were asked. And we couldn't get anyone's attention. Finally we see our server again with the bill. We told her of our experience. She just seemed annoyed with us as of course they were short staffed. I did ask why it was other tables were being served while we were ignored and she just denied that. I asked if it was because we weren't ordering alcohol. read more

Drift has by far become my favorite place to eat! Not only is the food top notch, but the staff has become like family over the last few years! It's such a cozy place to come and grab a tasty bite when I'm in town and last week did not disappoint! Well it did in 1 way, but that wasn't Drifts fault...I'll explain at the end...but let's talk about the amazing time we had last Saturday! We were supposed to have a 6-7 course wine dinner but unfortunately not enough signed up, so Josh had to cancel We were coming regardless! My best friend had never tried Drift, so I had my boyfriend ask Josh of he would do a special 3 course Chefs Choice dinner with wine pairings!!! GUYS!!!!!!!! WOW!! We showed up at 650 pm for our 7 pm rez, got seated in the back corner (probably so other patrons wouldn't get jealous about the spread that was headed our way!!!) Abby promptly brought us our 1st bottle and shortly after 7, our first course was served and the rest of the night went off without a hitch (at least from the staff and chefs!) Every item was delectable!!! An out of this world caprese salad, beef heart tartare!! And a fantastic surf and turf over a bed of the most tasty rice, mushroom, and Brussel sprout bed!!! I highly recommend asking if Chef would be willing to do this for you! (Definitely make advanced plans...don't be a twat and show up asking for it that night ;)) Now to the not so fun stuff!! If you caught on...we didn't order a damn thing! Food and drinks just started showing up!! Well the table next to us was miserable...read their post...it's the 2-star review before mine. I can't attest to all the things, but here's what they forgot to mention...their ticket order time was 46 minutes...in a from scratch kitchen that was understaffed, that's amazing!!! Oh and because of the extra wait, Josh comped their drinks (no mention of that!) I've also had all the food they claimed to be awful...well if you let your fish and chips sit for a long period of time...it's going to het soggy! But the best part...they failed to mention that their entire ticket was comped by another patron! They didn't have to pay a dime! This was most likely done to protect Monica, their amazing server...who attended their table at least 4 times while we were there and who wasn't being rude, but was stressed! So the patron wanted to make sure she got properly tipped!!! So do yourself a favor and head into Drift and order something off their menu and decide for yourself if their food and service is spectacular (cause it is!!) Or you can listen to a Karen who really only gives bad reviews! The choice is yours...buy remember...you can't make EVERYONE happy even of their whole meal was free!!!!! read more

We visited Drift for the first time last night and it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was inviting, like a cozy modern lakeside retreat. The staff were so nice and the food was AMAZING!
