Great place with great staff. Love the nostalgia, and a great place to hear music. Plenty of screens for Sunday sports. Nice selection of good craft beer on tap. Lots of different cocktails.

We love this bar! The 219 is No Dive...Come in and see it now! The atmosphere is Coolest of Cool Historic Old Sandpoint. The bartenders are friendly, good looking and get after it quick... They have pool, darts, weekend entertainment, a real nice selection of Craft Beers and check out their Copper Mugged Mule Menu! Spade has been coming here for 60 years and has been served the coldest CoorsLite in Idaho while astride his mule and gives the 219 Five Stars!

We were both warmly greeted right away and offered that cold drink we were both seeking. Our bartender, Slade, was very friendly and brought us warm foccacia bread with drizzled huckleberry sauce on it. We ordered the steak satay which was wonderfully marinated and soft enough to melt in your mouth - delicious. The foccaia bread was worth the trip alone. Slade was being assisted by Selene, behind the bar, who must have overheard us talking about taking the Foccacia bread home and immediately went into action preparing it for travel with a little extra huckleberry sauce for the road. Fabulous place, great surroundings and friendly staff - all around a great place to go.

Hostess then arrived and got us seated right away despite it being a bustling night. GREAT ambience - lively but not loud - no need to raise voice to talk with your party. Server came out promptly and took great care of us. My sister got the Jasmine and it was as great tasting as it was beautiful - tart, so if you like tart drinks get it and don't think twice. The Focaccia Bread WITH the steamer clams was a great appetizer (soak the bread in the tomato juice!) and the entrees were SO GOOD. The Chilean Sea Bass was PERFECTLY cooked and was up there in the best we've ever had. The pesto gnocchi + squash it rested on was delightful and the perfect combination. The Peruvian Chicken was ALSO perfectly cooked and its sauce was to die for. The potatoes that went along with were salted just right. Great great great, highly recommend whether you're having dinner or going to the bar with a friend for a LIVELY kind of experience

There are…read morevery few places to enjoy out for a nice steak dinner here in Sandpoint anymore, but I have always like The Hydra. So, I chose to come here. I have been here several times and usually have the seafood fettuccini, but this time I went for the prime rib. It was, without a doubt, the best I have ever had. I used to own a restaurant in Montana and served prime rib every Saturday night as a special, and people loved it! But this one beat even my own. The portion size with the fresh green beans and nice sized baked potato was great, and my medium rare prime rib was cooked to perfection. Out server Kay, was very attentive to everything we could have wanted. It was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had. We don't go out to eat very often, as the cost is so high anymore and not many places are even open in the evenings for dinner around here. So, thank you Hydra and Kay, for a great birthday evening dinner out.

In…read morefact, we met with the previous owners of our home over breakfast at Connie's to discuss the purchase of what is now our house and ten acre lot in Bonners Ferry. That aside, Connie's has become something of a standby for us, particularly in the summer months when we frequent the nearby City Beach. The atmosphere is reminiscent of vintage Denny's and Lyon's restaurants (when I was growing up, my family either owned or managed both, so this place feels like home when I'm there). Like the Hoot Owl, my favorite menu item is their Ranch Burger, which mixes barbecue sauce with a red wine vinaigrette (as opposed to ranch dressing at Hoot Owl), and served on a toasted sourdough roll. Their bacon is very thick and very crispy, with a dash of black pepper around the edges for added flair. Prices are reasonable to what you would expect and portion sizes are generous, with lots of steak fries or hash browns or whatever your pleasure. I'm not big on breakfast, but fortunately they seem to serve lunch all day. Service has always been very friendly and efficient, although if you go on weekends (particularly Sundays), they can be obscenely busy and once or twice this has meant longer waits for seating and service. They're very kid friendly, and have been very accommodating when our son occasionally picnics his McDonald's Happy Meal to the table. Parking can be a little tricky out on the street, but they're very well situated on the corner on Cedar Street, adjacent to and actually connected to part of the eponymous Cedar Street Hotel, and there's plenty of parking on adjacent streets and lots with a short and relatively pleasant walk to the premises. I'm usually reliant on cellular data for any internet needs while I'm there, but chances are you're there for the food more so than lightning fast upload/download speeds so head on over and enjoy your meal!

We waited 6 minutes to be seated while 2 waitresses were at the cash register trying to figure something out. Once seated after another 5 minutes of being ignored, the busser brought us coffee and apologized. Another 10 minutes went by before we saw a waitress to take our order. 30 minutes later we finally got our food which was barely warm. We got a refill of our coffee 15 minutes before our meal and nothing after that. Today we went for breakfast. We were seated immediately and our waitress never showed up nor did we get our coffee for 9 minutes. She took our order right after. It took 20 minute after our simple order was taken before we received it, and once again no refill of coffee. I know Lost in the 50's is 2 weeks away, and if service remains like it's been, you'll have a bunch of upset customers.

Well, turns out it is no longer a coffee house, except that they do serve drip coffee, but I was told that they used to. Despite looking like a dive bar, kids are welcome and the server was very warm and friendly. We were only there for an appetizer and a drink while waiting for our Thai food to-go order to be cooked around the corner with a 45 minute wait. The four of us ordered the Caesar salad and my son, the chicken strips. We were in for the surprise of our life. We discovered the best Caesar salad ever made. Ever. I'm not sure how they do it, but it was so delicious we all said we'd come back just for that salad. My son reports that the chicken strips were also really good. We just never would have expected the great quality of food we were served here in this "dive bar". The beers we had were also really good. Hi Heather, Thank…read moreyou for taking the time to respond and engage with the feedback--it's clear you care deeply about the property. We hope that on a future visit, you might experience TRR from the perspective of a first-time guest--someone arriving with the hope of finding a peaceful retreat, but instead feeling somewhat like they've unexpectedly stepped into someone else's private space. While you see meaningful memories and personal touches, guests may interpret these items, photos, and instructions differently. The feeling of intrusion was heightened when the resident innkeeper prepared their own family's meal in the middle of the great room, making the shared space feel less like a guest retreat and more like someone else's home with lingering odors. There's so much to love about the property--the architecture and setting are truly stunning. With a bit of refreshing (particularly in terms of dusting all the bric-a-brac) and a shift in focus back toward creating a getaway experience, TRR could easily return to the high ratings it once enjoyed--as a place where guests can relax, reset, and grow.
