We sat outside on the deck for dinner, and it was amazing! Very friendly service and a wide range of options on the menu, ranging from pad thai to buffalo meatloaf. Drinks were reasonably priced and strong. You'll probably want to have a reservation during summer nights as it was pretty busy at 6 p.m. on a Wednesday. I'll be back the next time I visit Sandpoint! Another gem in SP. I had a great evening hanging out at the bar. I met friendly people, had great conversation while eating a wonderful meal backed by excellent service. Amber was our waitress and she was amazing! She suggested I try the beet coconut bisque and it was probably the most delicious bisque I have ever had in my life! The chef there is so talented! On a Sunday in mid August, 2015, we made a reservation for 5 pm which seemed to be a good decision as the establishment filled up quickly within the hour. It was our first visit to Dish and we are happy to have chanced upon it. Our party of four each selected something different from the varied menu and we all shared two appetizers (empanadas and calamari). None of us were disappointed in any way with the food presentation or flavour. Service was pleasant, efficient and accommodating. We ate out on the patio and were able to enjoy the river view and calls of the osprey nesting nearby. For casual, comfortable dining, Dish is a great choice. We'll be back! read more

Our group of 12 visited DISH tonight and had a great experience. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waitresses name was Sam and she was very attentive. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant I could tell that customer service was a priority to them. The gentleman who I am assuming was the manager was very friendly and accommodating. Everyone loved what they ordered. We come to Sandpoint every year and always entertain a large group. We will definitely add DISH to our restaurant list. This was our first stop after getting into town for the start of a week's vacation. The restaurant is part of the marina at Dover Bay and had a lovely patio overlooking the bay. Although we were there in the early evening I am sure the patio was even more enjoyable at night after the sun set, as there were strung lights. My first impression of the staff was that they were not quite ready for a dinner crew. It was about 5pm but the restaurant vibe felt a little out of sorts as if they weren't ready to host anyone. We were greeted by a waitress who let us know right off the bat two dishes they were out of and seemed indifferent to whether we were there or not-just a little too casual and unprofessional. She also apologized for not knowing a few questions we had about the menu and told us the kitchen was "catching up" from a busy weekend (it was Monday). However, she did consult with the kitchen staff as to our questions. We started with drinks. My husband had an ale on tap which was tasty and I was conflicted between two reds. I let our waitress know what I preferred in a red and she recommended a different kind than I was considering (a blend), but offered to bring me a taste of the one I'd originally thought I wanted. Her recommendation was spot on and probably the most delicious red wine I've ever had! The one I sampled was of no comparison. My husband and I both ordered the fish tacos, although I asked for all the sauce to be on the side and he asked for french fries instead of avocado fries. The tacos were delicious and seemed rather healthy. I was so happy to see the fish was not deeply fried and the corn tortillas were warm and flexible. He enjoyed his tacos but felt they were too salty. I think the difference was the sauce being on top or not. I had been eager to try the avocado fries as an avocado fanatic but was a little disappointed with the cajun spices surrounding it. I feel they would have been better with a more neutral batter. Overall this place was great and I would definitely give it a try again-maybe next time at night! read more

we started coming here two years ago when we moved to Sandpoint. We loved it but lately its gone downhill. We decided to come here tonight as we wanted to give it one last chance. Oh were we disappointed. the calamari was so anemic and limp. So wrong. We were in a salad mood so we got the mexican shrimp salad. When they brought it we both looked at each other like what the hell. And hoping the taste would wow us we were so disappointed again. Sorry but we wont be back again. Six of us ate here today - it was about as good as it gets for dining! It was a perfect day, we ate on the patio and drank in the scenery. The service was wonderful (thanks for digging in and helping us figure out which 3 cheeses were in the 3 cheese tzitziki!) the food was divine. I had: Sourdough French toast with strawberries, granola and a yogurt sauce. It was wonderful: a blend of sour, tart/ tangy, creamy, and sweet that balanced deliciously. Around our table there was a BLT, a turkey avocado sandwich with mild jalapeño aioli that was perfection, bagels and lox, and 2 versions of lamb burgers. There wasn't a crumb left on a single plate and even though we were all full, we couldn't resist the summer berry lemon cake ... And I am so glad we didn't! I rarely give 5-star reviews, but DISH earned this one. After a long, long day of traveling and finally getting to Dover Bay, we weren't in the mood to drive, again, for dinner. Decided to just eat in the little restaurant next to the office. A great decision! We sat on the next next to water. Service was fast, attentive and very professional. We never wanted for anything, even though they were obviously busy. A couple of glasses of wine came out immediately. I had fish and chips, my dining partner had the southwest chicken salad. The fish was perfectly cook with a light batter. The fries were incredible. Not sure if they were dipped, but so crunchy! I had a couple of bites of salad, which was also very good. All in all, nothing to be improved upon. And the sunset over the lake was just the icing on the cake. Well done, DISH. read more

I've been here a few times now. After trying several menu items, I've decided I like the edamame to start and the fish and chips for my main. They have a good selection of beer and I usually go with the local Laughing Dog pilsner. Service is usually fine, not speedy and not too slow. The outdoor seating is great if you get there at a time when the sun is manageable. If we don't time it right, we also like sitting inside where we can look out on the water through the big windows or we sit in the area near the couches if we have our little 3 year old family members with us. They are very accommodating and don't mind a big group. This is a great spot to eat on the beautiful summer days we enjoy in Sandpoint! read more

The service here was great. Very good food. Great environment... now to the bad part... We ordered the special. Filet mignon with blue cheese butter topping. We asked for the cheese butter sauce on the side. It came out with three cheese topping on it. Not a big deal. Wee asked for a new one. My friend brought me here last week, we came at 4:30 said they couldn't seat us until 6 that was okay we had been fishing so we felt we would have a few Beers and relax. The four times we went in more than half the tables inside remained vacant and we asked if a table was available, we were told not until 6, we mentioned that the same tables were open, since we came in. Finally at 6:20 we called them to see when they would have a table, we were told they could seat us now at a table that we saw open for almost the past two hours. Our server Dabby saved the day what a lovely efficient lady, we had the Calamari very good and hot in temperature and tasty but the fried Green onions in there were just a grease trap. We both had the fish and chips good and hot but the fries were old and limp under the fish. We will probably go back again, but this time with a reservation......a number of the tables that were empty at 4:30 were still empty when we left at 7:30 that just puzzled both of us, but hey life is good! read more

Take an after dinner stroll along the adjacent waterfront walking trails and then mosey back to your boat for a starlight cruise back home. DONT BE FOOLED BY THE REVIEWS! Just left this restaurant, this place has expensive views and an equally expensive menu. The food was likely warmed as it was out within minutes of us ordering. The service was awful and we were actually attacked by 10-20 flies throughout our meal. Will not return. There are so many nice restaurants in sandpoint... I recommend the fat pig for a good eat not this sad excuse of a future restaurant from hell Gordon Ramsey will be visiting soon. read more
