We took a tour through Costco travel, booking through Brendan Vacations, and ended up on a…read moreTrafalgar Coach tour. We spent 15 days traveling Ireland and Scotland. We knew that the tour would be moving almost every day, riding with 48 other people in a bus, and we'd be exhausted at the end. We saw a lot of country, mostly from the bus, and stopped regularly to stretch our legs, potty break, etc. Extra evening excursions were extra add ons. The biggest down side was that you are stuck on that cramped bus most of the trip. One of our passengers was sick, coughing, sneezing, and blowing their nose. But, Instead of removing the sick person from the tour, or isolating the sick person, the tour guide continued to move everyone's seat assignments around the bus, including the sick person, to get maximum exposure to the disease! By the end of the tour everyone was sick. My wife and I got sick on day 10, missed out of several events, while recuperating in our hotel, then back on the bus to spread more disease. Never again!

I wanted to tour the four capital cities of Scandinavia: Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and Helsinki…read more I signed up for the Trafalgar "Capitals of Scandinavia" tour, which with the extras, was about $4,000 plus my air fare. If I am ever going to tour these cities, I will have to go back. Over nine days we spent approximately 10 hours in a tour bus with tour guide commentary. Copenhagen is a good example. We boarded the bus at the hotel at 8:00 A.M. and drove around with two photo stops, one for the Little Mermaid statue and one for the Christiansburg Slot. We were back at the hotel at 10:00 A.M. and the tour guide said: "we are giving you the rest of the day to explore Copenhagen on your own." This is hardly a gift as all the museums are closed on Mondays, which the tour guide (Ulf) said he didn't know. What was absolutely insulting is when they make a big, big deal about how impressive the museums are as we drove by--the "fabulous" Glyptotec, and the "amazing" historic museum when they full flat know they are not taking us to them, and that we cannot go them on our own because they are closed and because we are leaving the next morning. So for Copenhagen as a whole--I didn't explore it, I really didn't see it. I glanced at it through a bus window for two hours. But there are two excursions available at extra charge of which only one is listed in the itinerary. I took that one, which was to Frederiksburg Castle. So it is an hour to get there, taking the long way which is just a view of the ocean and going through residential neighborhoods, and then a 10 minute photo opportunity to take pictures of the beach. We get to the castle and are rushed through in 45 minutes. Some rooms we skip, e.g., a room with a huge celestial globe which "we don't have time for" and some rooms we rush through without explanation. One room had what appeared to be a throne. I caught up with the guide one room later and asked "was that the throne room?" Answer: "yes." I asked the guide "why are you rushing us?" Answer "The company only gives me a limited period of time and then we have to go." But still the castle wasn't a part of Copenhagen. The next day, we waste the entire day traveling by bus to Oslo. The guide said, "some people like to look at the scenery." But that was farms and forests, no mountains, fjords, or anything else in particular. In Oslo, the guide slipped and said a ship coming into the harbor was the overnight ferry from Copenhagen. So they could have easily put us on that and given us that full day in Copenhagen.

Great Experience for 4 Beginner Hikers, Ages 18-54…read more We're two parents in our 50s with two teenagers and minimal hiking experience and did the Cholla trail at the end of December. We all wore long pants except 1 and quickly took off our jackets from warmth as we continued the hike. We brought water bottles with us, and our tour guide John carried extra water bottles, sunscreen, and candies. He even offered us lightweight hiking backpacks to wear on the hike! John was extremely knowledgeable about the trail and immediately made us feel at ease, and that at any point if we wanted to stop or turn around, we could. The 54 year old male in our party, who has had chronic knee problems made it to trail marker 15 of 36 before turning back, and the rest of the party, continued with John to the top of the mountain. We stopped multiple times to take water breaks, and to take pictures and enjoy the sights. We felt so lucky to have such a knowledgeable person with us. Most of the people that we ran across on the trail did not have a guide and we felt like we had an absolute advantage with somebody there to tell us which direction to face where we should step, etc, especially in the upper third portion of the hike. John also told us that he had EMT training, which was also encouraging! Shoes/boots with traction are a MUST!

My friends and I have always wanted to do a "Haunting Tour" and we finally got to experience this…read morewith the amazing Darlene! We reserved our time with her in advance and she was very nice and easy to work with. I called her a few times because I had to adjust our party size and she was very accommodating. Our tour started at the Vendome Hotel where we received brief history, several stories about encounters and watched a few videos where possible encounters were captured. That ended up being the rhythm of the tour, walk + history + story + picture/video and some exploring. We walked though two different hotels, around the whiskey row square, a dark alley and ended the night at the saloon. The tour is a great mixture of history and ghost stories, your also encouraged to take photos to try and capture an encounter. I started the tour skeptical of actually seeing anything but at the end of the night my friend and I definitely saw something shoot past my camera phone in the saloon! Overall we had the best time with Darlene and I would definitely recommend doing this!

It was nice to have options to choose from, from salad to pizza to appetizers. I appreciate that they were not strict about a menu item minimum tonight. That actually had me more motivated to order! I decided to try the Caesar salad. Unfortunately I didn't love it. The romaine was fresh and crunchy but there was too much dressing and didn't love the glamour so only ate about half. Server was so sweet and attentive. She was really lovely. One thing that was very off-putting was the both behind ours. The group there was so loud. One woman in particular seemed intoxicated and talked loudly u to her friends throughout the show. She made multiple very rude and profane comments towards others guests and the comedian. I would have really appreciated seeing staff/management address this, out of respect for the performers and guests. I observed several guests look back at the loud table multiple times throughout the night given ongoing distraction so just a bit disappointing that this went unchecked. Nevertheless staff were very friendly and kind.
