I had a Compu Pool salt system that was a couple years old and totally shut down and when I called the manufacturer I learned they went out of business in the USA and I was SOL unless I worked with Compu Pool Australia. Discount Salt Pool actually gave me a discount on a replacement system even though I wasn't a customer because apparently there are a lot of people out there in my situation. I called your technical support and they gave me a phone number of a "supposedly engineer" that could answer my questions on the deficiency of the Ozone Generator. I talk to this guy in Alabama and stated that the Ozone Generator should go after the Salt Clorinator where I was told through your questions and answer ls that it's supposed to go before? Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing? Ironically, he admitted that the venturi will drain the pvc filter piping.....NO DESIGNED PREVENTION?? So, I asked the question why there wasn't any electronic check valve in the Ozone Generator? The problem is the venturi vents or drains the water out of the pool filter system when the filter shuts off.....very hard on anything installed on the system downstream of the venturi plumbing since I have a 5 port valve assembly after the Ozone Generator it drains the pvc pipes. Have you ever heard what it sounds like when air and water goes into a 5 port valve assembly? It hammers the 5 port valve assembly until all the air is purged out of the pvc piping. I don't want to replace the 5 port valve assembly every month!!! The venturi should of had a electronic ball valve installed which was nor.ally closed when power was removed from the Ozkne Generator to prevent draining of the filter system. It's great if your pool filter system is below grade then the useless check valve that prevents backwash into the UV LAMP but there's no precautions on the venturi draining the pool filter system when the filter is above grade of the pool? Very poor design of this Ozone Generator. You would of thought there would of been more thought in the design of this Ozone Generator. A check valve that you have displayed is useless since it will only work to the upstream and not downstream of the check valve. The venturi is like taking a 3/8" drill bit and drilling into the pvc pipe, anywhere this hole or venturi is located is going to drain the pipe and anything downstream is going to suffer from all the air and water banging into the filter system on startup.......you would think there would of been more engineering involved to prevent the draining issue? Poor design, I had to stop the draining by designing an inline ball valve to be placed on the venturi flexible tubing to shutoff when power was removed from the Ozone Generator to prevent the venturi from draining? Your product doesn't benefit the pool filter system but hiders the ability of the pool filtration system by draining the. Pvc piping whereverthis it's installed.........I can't belive all the positive fake reviews and nobody has mentioned this issue of the venturi draining their system???. read more

I purchased a salt cell from this company. The item came within one week which was nice and install was a breeze. However, the item came faulty and didn't work well. It was a faulty cell. It was initially difficult getting customer service after the purchase to help with either replacement, troubleshooting or refund. I had initially tried emails, calling and webchat with no assistance from them. This left a very sour taste. I finally was able to reach someone who was able to assist with a full refund. They stated that they were behind on email responses due to busy summer months, which I guess is understandable. At the end, it was a neutral experience. read more

My salt cell chlorinator went bad and I needed one asap, I went ahead and placed order thru their website. I got confirmation. Shipping promised for 3-5 days, 15 days later nothing. Only their chat seems to respond only to say the same thing at the end. That they will email me info. The only email I keep receiving is the copy of the chat. Well, it looks like the trend continues with this company. Purchase of a new chlorine generator was fine until the cell went bad in six months. I wrote to the company and they agreed it was covered under warranty. Despite not receiving the replacement cell ever, they started calling me asking for the old cell and I reminded them I've never received the replacement. Several apologies later, and after me sending half a dozen or so emails, and even more phone calls, I still don't have a replacement. It's nearly three months later, the cell has fallen apart and pool is turning green. Buyer beware. read more

I consider myself to be a pretty diligent shopper but these guys got me. Bought a salt cell from them in 2014. Cell went bad in 2018. Called them up and paid pro rated for a new cell. Little did I know that when you get a prorated cell the new cell only comes with a 1 year warranty. Not told until the new cell craps out in 2 years. Now tell me: What kind of scummy company gives customers a $70 credit so they can cut the warranty from 4 years to 1 year? If this isn't enough to stop you from buying from them: If you are still fine with buying from a scammy company, just remember you are buying a discount salt cell that will last 3 years at the very most. read more

I am so tired of having to give bad reviews. Why is it so difficult for companies to do their job and deliver your items? I purchased over $3600 worth of equipment from this company and one of the crucial parts needed just wasn't with the order. Now I am in Mexico trying to install my pool after over 3 years of nightmares... If I don't get water in it the gunite will crack and $185K is down the drain. I have been trying to get them to send the missing part for over two weeks. It has to go to a CA address and then my mail service bring it to me. If it's not there on Tuesday I've lost my pool. I finally get an email about the order yesterday but no tracking. So I get on chat and ask about it and he gives me the standard 2-3 days to ship. I'm like, look up the order this is different I'm in Mexico and it was supposed to go 1 to 2-day shipping to which he answers International shipping is not an option. Then I lost it and said look you moron, just look up the order and see if it says it was shipped. Then like a two-year-old child, he disconnects the chat because people that work in this day and age have no sense of Customer Service or care for the customer. This jerk may have cost me $185K. If so I am suing them. First of all, I shouldn't have had to ever contact them. But after I did and told them how crucial it was they still didn't get back to me until 3 more contacts and finally I get an email saying the order has been placed and that as soon as it ships I'll get another email. I purchased a new salt chlorine system from these people, Since the ports on the SJ model differed from their older RJ model, a adapter was required to have the plumbing align properly. These people sold me two adapters pre-assembled in their factory. I installed these and, after turning on the pool pump, BOTH of these adapters leaked at the pre-assembled joint! Since everything must me installed with bonding treatments, the entire piping system needed to be replaced. I sent pictures of the leaking adapters. Discount Salt Pools simply stopped communicating with me. The logical solution would have been to either replace the required plumbing pieces, or to reimburse me for the required replacement parts. I wasn't asking them to pay for the repair, as I did that myself. They have done nothing! read more

I have owned a circupool salt generator for several years. This year when opening the pool the cell got broken. I called Discount Salt Pools about my problem. He immediately shipped me out a new cell. Well as things would go not knowingly Ihad control box problems. When the new cell was installed, it would run for a while and then kickoff. Again, I called discount pools and spoke with the technician. He was on the phone with me for an extended period of time telling me different things to try. Eventually, it was decided that I needed a new system. Discount pools let me return the cell I purchased and give me a discount on a new system! I do not write reviews and the discount on the new system is not the reason that I am writing this review. The genuine concern and friendly and helpful attitude that everyone that I spoke with at discount pools had is the reason for thi review. It has been a long time since I have had the customer service that I had at discount pools (it was like going to Chick-fil-A). The last time I did they were terrific to me, they stopped what they were doing and tested my equipment, turned out the power supply was bad so they gave me a 300 discount on a new system and I was on my way. I placed an order yesterday morning and did not receive any tracking information after 24 hours. I called them up to make sure it was shipping and the fellow who answered the phone was out of control. He put me on hold and then got back on the phone and said he did not know why but there was a problem. All that is fine, things happen no big deal but, he then proceeded to scold me that I would question "what do you mean problem" - my first thought was an issue with the credit card or the shipping address, etc....was very strange......This review has nothing to do with the product itself and boy I hope I have no issues with it as their support from this experience is non-existent. I purchased a salt water chlorinator based on all the positive feedback from the pool forum. I am still shocked at how rude they could be to a customer checking the status of $900 sale. I only dealt with 1 person so for all I know the rest of them might have better ability to handle customer support. Ordered a saltwater chlorinator June 4th said it was in stock. Would arrive in 2 to 5 business days. Called they said it was back ordered and that they just came in and it would ship out today 9th. The rep was unbelievably rude and completely unhelpful. Asked if they were going to expedite the shipping and they said No. Yes it was their mistake he says but too bad he said! What company does that?! He asked if I wanted to cancel my order which I would be happy to do, but I can't find the product I want. He said that it would arrive next week NEVER EVER Will I order from this company again. Their mistake but I'm the one getting screwed. They charge 25$ shipping for 2 to 5 business days that's your only choice. But it doesn't come in that time frame oh and I noticed on their website, they jacked up the price now. Discount Salt Pools has always been helpful resolving issues with an CircuPool salt generator I bought from them, but you will have to pay for all the resolutions and there are plenty. I would shop carefully before buying another CircuPool Salt generator. I have experienced a multitude of headaches and problems. The manual is just about useless for trouble shooting. read more

They sell CircuPool brand of salt chlorine generators with control panel. They have a CircuPool sale going on now that ends on 7/05/2017. I bought my CircuPool system four years ago from them. It had a seven year warranty. My control panel died. Discount Salt Pool told me to open up the panel and change the reset fuse/circuit breaker inside the unit. When I opened it up, I saw that a wire was fried among other items. When I called them back, they sent me an email with a phone number to get warranty work done. When I called the number, I got a recording saying that they went out of business and to contact the manufacturer in Australia. Don't buy CircuPool. Don't buy ANYTHING from Discount Salt Pool. They knew the U.S. distributor had gone out of business, yet had me call anyway. So if you don't want to mail your stuff to Australia for warranty work, don't buy. By the way, no where on the website do they mention this, yet they have a sale on CircuPool. No honesty. Just grind out the sales and to hell with the customer. read more
