Bitterling's auto has been doing their best to figure out why my car will not start as there seems to be an unknown internal issue. Ik Bitterling's team has been communicating with carhop the difficulties n have been doing their part. I DROVE my car into Bitterlings, approved $500 worth of work, then got 2 more calls about an additional $200, then $150 worth of work needed. $850 total. When I was told I'd be able to pick my car up, I got another call that a part had FALLEN OFF my engine and it is NO LONGER RUNNING, requiring an additional $1050 worth of work to get it running again, a total of $1900. The car was older and almost at 100k miles so the estimated necessary work total had exceeded the value of the car. They still REQUIRED THAT I PAID the $850, even though this work did nothing to fix the vehicle because it NOW WON'T START. I also, went by the shop on a Saturday (not realizing they were closed for the entire weekend) to find my car parked on their lot with the DOORS UNLOCKED and my personal belongings inside. I was lucky nothing was stolen because they have signs all over their office saying they are not responsible for stolen property - so had anything been stolen, it would have been my responsibility, not theirs for leaving my vehicle unlocked on their unfenced, not secure property while they were closed with no one on site for 63 hours. ---- I am upset with the service here because I feel like I was taken advantage of and price gouged instead of hearing from an experienced mechanic about the extent of the work needed to repair my car. I was never given a full picture of the damage my car had sustained, instead I was told small estimates at separate times totaling to a lot of money that never actually fixed the car. Keep in mind, this car was running when I brought it to them so I basically paid for them to break my car and ask for even more money to fix that. I got multiple calls and estimates throughout the day while they were working on my car: 1st call- I was told I was lucky that I only needed $500 worth of work,  2nd call - thermometer needed to be replaced $200, 3rd call - small repair for oil leak $150. After approving all of this work and the 3rd time I had talked to them, they mentioned that the timing chain was stretched but I was told that it DIDN'T NEED TO BE FIXED and I could pick my car up by the end of the day. As the end of the day approached, I called to ask about picking up my car. She called back to tell me that while THE MECHANIC WAS DRIVING MY CAR OUT FOR PICKUP, THE TIMING CHAIN HAD FALLEN OFF AND NOW THE CAR WILL NOT START! To fix this they estimated an additional $1050 of work ($1,900 total). I said no to the work because I wanted to do some research, as now the total of all the work already approved and required, exceeded the value of the vehicle. Moneeba called me multiple times the day after my car broke asking for a decision on doing the additional work but when I asked for the estimates in writing she could not provide anything in writing. Moneeba said THEY DON'T PROVIDE ESTIMATES IN WRITING therefore, I must write it down myself (which is actually against the law in Washington to not provide written estimates for work over $100). She said she would try to put an invoice together with the work I had approved but it took 2 days to finally get the repairs they had done in writing. Still no written estimate for the work required to get the car running again. When I came in to speak to Moneeba and discuss options, she was defensive and demanding that they had done nothing wrong. The only thing that she did to right the wrongs of her shop (and I doubt she would have had I not requested it) was due to the fact that I could no longer drive my car off the property -  was she didn't charge me to store my car on the lot past the week mark while I tried to sell it. I'd also like to point out that the old owner, Don, no longer owns this auto shop and most of these reviews are for the business he ran. Bitterling's is not accredited by the BBB. Save yourself the hassle and stress I went through and go somewhere else!

Every single interaction I've had with this department--over the phone or in person--has been unbelievably condescending. The gentleman at the counter talks to me as if I'm an idiot and have absolutely no understanding of parts or interchangeability. I've been in this industry for over 16 years. I don't need to be talked down to by someone behind a parts counter. What really crossed the line was THEM ordering the wrong part and then trying to make ME pay for their mistake. I did not order that part, and I'm not going to be pressured into paying for something because your department got the order wrong. There is a basic level of respect and accountability expected in any business-to-business transaction. If you make a mistake, own it and fix it. Don't disrespect the customer, talk down to them, and then expect them to pay for your error. I spend a significant amount of money on automotive parts, and I have dealt with countless dealerships and parts departments over the years. I have never felt this consistently disrespected by one. Completely unacceptable. I will gladly spend my money somewhere that understands how to treat its customers with basic professionalism and respect.

I had to go after market because Toyota was inundated with cat thefts across the country. The decision to have Scott's Classic Quality do everything was the best decision. Their work is great. Professionally done, they stand by their work & are very professional throughout. The o2 sensors kept tripping so each time Scott took care of it with jo problems. Yesterday I took my Tundra to then to get some after market stuff installed & to replace the wheel well aprons replaced. Everything was great. We test drove the greenish 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe VIN KM8SG13D57U099373 listed as of this date. We…read moreliked the vehicle and drew up papers and left a deposit pending a pre-purchase inspection by our mechanic. When we went to look at it intially the dealer had the AutoCheck available, but not the Carfax which was strange since they have a big Carfax sign in the window. We also got some verbiage about how Carfax reported every little thing and wasn't necessarily accurate. I still paid for the Carfax when we got home ($40). What a surprise to learn the vehicle had been in an accident. This wasn't a dealbreaker as I still believed the "over-reporting" by Carfax the dealer told us and figured it was a fender bender. We went forward with the pre-purchase inspection ($100). My trusted AAA mechanic said the vehicle had been near-totaled and the damage hadn't been repaired very well. It was quite obvious when the mechanic showed me. I'm not sure why the dealer's mechanic didn't catch it. The car had been pulling to the right and it turns out this was due to a bent strut that hadn't been repaired. There were also some issues with the emissions equipment. The dealer showed me paperwork of what had supposedly been repaired when I noted that the vehicle had failed emissions in June, 2017. When I got home I realized what I had was an estimate, not a guarantee that the work had been done. The vehicle ran a little rough about 25% of the time so I asked the mechanic to look into it. He said it was running like it was "trying to throw codes" (in other words, emissions problems). My mechanic advised me to pass. I was cordial and polite, but told the dealer based on the pre-purchase inspection we no longer wanted the vehicle. When we returned it, the salesman (Martin) and the owner (Chuck) made all kinds of excuses about how the damage was minor and there wasn't anything wrong with it. They showed no interest in my report from the mechanic and kept insisting the vehicle was fine. I didn't say anything because I just wanted my deposit back without any hassle. Chuck remained cordial, but fast-talking Martin turned quite surly. I did receive my deposit back even though I spent $140 for nothing. I don't know how they could deny a report from AAA mechanic, or damage I could see with my own eyes. I didn't receive an apology nor was there any concern that someone could buy an unsafe money-pit. If there had been any regret or offers to fix the emissions and the strut, this would've been a different review. It could be a good car for someone with the problems fixed and full-disclosure of the accident. Honesty is worth gold, or in this case, a sale. If anyone wants the Carfax or has any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
