Our 1.5 year old Jindo mix, Podo, is an inherently nervous dog who doesn't like new places or people, and in efforts to socialize him more we have been taking him to Disco Paws for a few months now. Needless to say, we're so grateful for this wonderful place filled with people who genuinely care for the dogs. We always have peace of mind whenever we leave Podo for a daycare session- bonus points for the doggy live cam! I always know that my dog is in good hands at Disco Paws. He got sick during his last visit, and they were kind enough to send his blanket (that he had from home) out with their laundry, as he was sick all over it. They cleaned him up and took care of him. I also like that it is clean there. Our last doggie daycare was always dirty, and my dog got sick pretty frequently. That is not the case with Disco. I'm glad they are still open. read more

I love Disco Paws. More importantly, our young pup Mystic loves it too. She is always eager to go in and meet new fiends and play HARD. On the days when I choose to send her in, she comes back completely exhausted and clearly had a wonderful time. She goes right to bed! Finally! A pet boarding place that I actually love!!!! Had to take my kitties here for boarding for a weekend trip and I couldnt be happier. They did an amazing job! I am a first time dog owner with a 4 month old mixed breed pup with a lot of energy. I care for her on my own and I am very conscious of her needs so finding Disco Paws Daycare was a dream. We first stopped in to get a treat and were in the shop for maybe 5 minutes tops the first time. We stopped in again maybe a week later and the owner remembered my pup's name! I looked into the daycare and it had everything I needed. They have separate rooms based off your pup's needs and temperament, the rooms are in the back and not street facing so it is a quiet calm environment for your pups to play and socialize, they provide a live webcam so you can check in on your pup throughout the day, photo updates, and a cute little daily report card. There is a daycare closer to where I live but Disco Paws is unmatched so I go out of my way for it because it's the best place for my pup. I took my 8 year old Ditmars here for the first time yesterday and we both loved it. After our last groomer closed I wasn't sure where to bring Ditty but I walked by Disco Paws one day and finally brought him in and I'm very happy I did! I really felt like they cared about my dog as if he were their own. They went above and beyond examining his needs (i.e. applying a conditioning treatment after seeing he had dry skin) and didn't push or force him to do things he didn't like. I've been bringing my puppy here for a few weeks, and he absolutely loves it. Once he knows where we're heading, he gets excited and can't wait to get in. He falls asleep pretty much right away once we get home after an entire Disco Day. He spent all his energy on Disco Paws' dance floor!! This place is dishonest and cannot be trusted at all! First, when I called and made the reservation, I specifically informed the shop that my cats are allergic to certain food. They can only have 1 ingredient diet. I clearly explained everything about my cats. HOWEVER, they fed some treats to my cats and now they all have ear infections! I can't believe this happened! My cats do not have any allergic reactions when they are with me. This is unbelievable. They have also beaten one of my cat just trying to make her obey to the grooming. I can tell the difference. Second, one of my cat does not want to get groomed/bathed, they just dry cleaned my cat without asking my permission. They rate they charged is the same which doesn't make sense to me. They should have asked me about it first! I left them a $35 tip and I want everything back, they should pay me some money for the ordeal that my cats went through. It's very rare for me to RAVE about a groomer but let me say this but after having an amazing first time experience I had to share.My dog has gone through several botch jobs; and as a papillon when they buzz off all his hair it looks terrible. But! When I first met peter (the groomer) he was super sweet and took his time meeting my dog. I explained how little I wanted removed but still enough to keep him cleaned up. When I picked up my dog he looked the best I truly have ever seen him too and it's so far lasted a total 3 weeks shine wise and length. I will not be sending my dog anywhere else, Peter is THE BEST groomer!! Santino will only be seeing him from now on!! read more

If you want to drop off your dog and then pick him up smelling like stale piss, this is your place! I've been a customer for over a year, getting all types of services. Lately it's been overcrowded to the point the staff can't keep up with cleaning the floors.. I had my dog bathed on Friday and made the mistake of bringing him back for day care on Monday and he's completely filthy!! The dog smells so bad we had to crate him until we can bathe him again. He's an 85lb Golden and that's the last thing I want to do at home when I've already paid to get him groomed! I called disco paws to complain about the issue and they said that it was my fault for bringing the dog back after having him bathed!!! This new small local business is a blessing to the neighborhood. The owner is there 24/7 almost making it a personal experience, every time I visit with my dog - who they know by name already, after three visits. Very knowledgeable, clean, and attentive service. Sure, some times, for some people, under circumstances, things can go wrong and that can ruin the experience, but overall it's a great place to visit and offers great services. It was wonderful to actually get to meet and consult with the groomer Peter before Bailey's spa day. Peter really did a great job styling our oil Pomchi. I'm a first time frenchie mom and with the recommendation from our trainer I went to Disco Paws for their grooming services. I booked online for the Frenchie Warhol and it was an easy process. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted with a friendly staff member she took to my Louie right away. My husband and I were worried to leave him to drop him off for the hour+ service but we saw other dog owners picking up their fur babies that seemed to be regulars, put our nerves to rest. I've struggled with debating if I was going to post this review but I want to ensure cat owners know what they're getting themselves into if they choose to get their pet groomed here. I had a pretty bad experience bringing my cat here to be groomed and will not be back. The staff themselves were very nice, but this place just doesn't seem to be very cat-focused with both the space and expertise offered. First, the space. My cat had never been groomed before and was very nervous being in an unfamiliar place. This was not alleviated by the grooming area sharing a wall/door with the area in which they keep all the dogs. The entire time there were very large dogs jumping up against the door, barking, howling so my cat did not want to get out of his carrier and then tried to jump off the grooming table every time the dogs would jump against the door. For an already stressful time for animals, hearing other animals going crazy a few feet away from them just wasn't conducive for a pleasant experience. Factor in a razor being used on an already jumpy animal who now is cowering in fear over big dogs trying to get into the room they're in and you got trouble. Second, the expertise. The groomer asked me to stay in the room with her while my cat was being groomed which I would've asked to do anyways just in case. However, I wasn't brought into the room to keep him calm, I was brought into the room to be a full participant in helping groom him. I only wanted a few mats to be brushed out of his fur but it became clear that she felt shaving him was the only option. I felt like this was unnecessary but wanted to do whatever would make my cat feel most comfortable. So, she started shaving him and I was her literal assistant. I lifted, held, soothed, prodded, stretched him in whatever way she told me to so she could do her job. At the end of the ordeal I had scratches on my face and arms (I'm not exactly experienced in shaving a cat) and COVERED in cat fur, I had to throw out the clothing I was wearing it was that bad. Not only that, but there were so many nicks on my poor cat. She cut him on his belly, legs, back...once I realized how many nicks he had I was heartbroken. Not only was this one experience bad, but we had to come back a second day so she could finish the job. So my cat left half shaved and we had to start the whole thing over (leaving the apartment in the carrier, walking past all the dogs, getting him out of the carrier) the next day. He was so sad and scared. When everything was said and done I paid almost $150 for this experience. I couldn't wrap my head around how they could charge this but only have a one person grooming team when they clearly need another person. Other customers might not have been so willing to assist with the grooming part...I know a lot of people view this service as a drop off and pick up type of thing. Reading the other reviews I have no doubts that they excel with the dog side of things, but unfortunately I did not have that experience with my cat. read more

This was our third time doing grooming at Disco paws and we are not at all pleased with our experience. To start, when we arrived and met the groomer, she felt it necessary to con us into paying additional for every unnecessary service. She also felt a few mats on our small 10lb puppy and insisted that she wouldn't be able to get them out and that she would need to shave her. Isn't the job of a groomer to brush out and take care of a few mats instead of taking the easy road out and shaving a dog? This was really upsetting and seemed completely unnecessary. We honestly don't even know what extra services she did on our dog because nothing seemed extra special or different than a normal grooming (aside from the teeth cleaning). When we came to pick up our dog, she was completely shaven and looked like a small rat. When we got home, she immediately went into bed. She was very sad and not herself the rest of the day (and hasn't been for days after). Later that night, we realized two nicks on her body. While we understand that mistakes happen, we would imagine it to be customary to alert owners of any nicks or incidents that happened during the grooming so that they are aware and can monitor anything necessary. So not only do I not appreciate that my dog was cut (in 2 spots), I do not appreciate not being told. We soon after realized that our dog was furiously scratching her ears. When we realized how red and inflamed they were, we immediately called the vet. After a vet visit (and $80+ bill for a visit and medication), we found out that our puppy has an ear infection...in both ears. This means that her ears were not washed and cleaned properly by your trained grooming staff. Or that the equipment and tools you are using are not properly sanitized. Either way, I find it disgusting and I am less than thrilled. So not only was our little puppy completely traumatized by this whole experience, she now has to deal with a double ear infection...and we have to deal with an over $100 grooming bill for terrible service and got the gift of an $86 vet bill to come with it. This is completely unacceptable and we will absolutely not be returning.I would not recommend this place to anybody who cares about their dog's appearance and wellbeing. read more

I am so grateful to have Disco Paws around the corner. All of the staff has been super friendly to both us and our Izzy. I definitely have been a nervous first time parent and they put up with me and Izzy just dropping by the store and not purchasing anything so we could get her used to the idea of other dogs. Now I can't walk anywhere near the shop without Izzy going wild because she wants to see her friends (human and doggie). I was very impressed with how they helped Izzy socialize with dogs twice her size. It was hard to watch at first(again... first time parent/small puppy) but they have a big viewing window and live cameras so you can watch their staff make sure everybody is playing friendly. Amanda and Kat have been especially inviting and accommodating, but the truth is I've seen most of the staff treat my Izzy with love so I'm very happy. I highly recommend Disco Paws. read more

I walked into this establishment on Saturday 2/9/18 and I'm a woman of color and I'll assume that the owner who was standing at the counter having a conversation with a gentleman didn't care to have my business because she never looked at me, greeted me or acknowledged that I walked in. I find it appalling that people have businesses and don't have enough professionalism or decency to entertain all of their customers. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. I dropped off my short -haired double coated pitbull mix to them at 1 for a grooming. I specifically asked them to do what they did last time which was a deshedding shampoo and his nails & teeth. I was called around 7pm to come pick him up and when I did they had completely shaved my 8 month old puppy. I was furious and upset and was told the manager, Amanda, would call me the next day. The groomer, Adelson, never even came out to apologize. The next day came and they had the audacity to send me an invoice via email so we called and were told by Jeff that they could send the footage of me saying to cut him short. We asked him to please send it and was then told " it's above his pay grade ". Throughout all of this we had also learned that the groomer had only been there for 2 weeks!!! Why was he not being supervised??? After all of this we STILL have not gotten a call from Amanda. Shame on this place! Take your animals ANYWHERE else ! Stay away !!!!!! read more

This place is great! Getting a grooming appointment for my dog was so easy. The groomer came out and I explained to her exactly what I wanted. Then when I picked him up I asked if I could speak with her again to see how he did. She came out and walked me through some things I could try at home so he would be a little more comfortable with people touching the hairs around his mouth during trimming. Disco Paws was literally a gift from heaven! Took my puppy for a spa day and they were super friendly and nice. My puppy literally jumped to Pamela's arms because of how amazing she was with my puppy it made me feel very comfortable leaving my baby with her. I've always been too afraid to bring my dogs to daycare, but I recently adopted a 1 year old goldendoodle who is too tall to fit in a crate and has had zero training so he still tries to chew everything. Typically I bring him with me to work, but today I had to go to a meeting with a client so he could not come. Panicked, I contacted Disco Paws and they saved the day! When I went to pick him up, he didn't want to leave . He was too busy trying to snuggle with the Disco Paws staff! He clearly had a great time today. Disco Paws has really put my mind at ease about bringing my dog to doggy daycare! My dog left there happy and tired, and a tired puppy is a well behaved puppy.
