I used to like coming here but not anymore. Plus the last two or three times, they didn't clean my pets ears. Regarding the haircut, his face also came out really choppy. The main issue was payment. I asked if I could Venmo and she said yes. Then they call me back later that evening asking me to cancel it because she doesn't have Venmo. What? Cool, well unfortunately I can't cancel a Venmo payment. But also, you told me yes. Then she asks me to come in to show her on her phone. Sorry, I'm not traveling from Manhattan to Queens to show you how to use your phone. I hope you get your payment but what a terrible post grooming experience and subpar grooming! I took my dog there perfectly fine , he just need it to clean him when I talk to the person in charge , I told her everything about the dog telling her he is small and delicate because he albino , after he expand there about 4 hrs and half because she said she was too busy but that wasn't the worst , it was 8 something pm so I didn't check him but the other day in the morning everyone saw my dog had an eye full of blood , so I started checking him out and he had a big bruise all black around his eye , I called the place and the person in charged did not answer nicely and said that nothing happen to him , now it's the second day and his eye is still the same and he cries , those pictures had been today now I'm just waiting my dog to get better , and I would never take him there again . read more

Today I decided to take my dog to this groomer and sadly I am disappointed and furious. My poor baby came home with both of his ears bleeding. This will be the last time I take him to this grooming spot. After speaking with the lady regarding the issue she just said that my dog had two bumps in his ears. If you notice bumps why wouldn't you call the owner and let them know? Instead you decide to still cut down. Makes no sense. They will be getting my vet bill! read more

I love petisa spa ! Nancy has been caring for all my dogs for many years. All of my dogs appreciate her presence and feel comfortable around her. Prices are reasonable and they are always open to taking my pet in for a last minute appointment. One thing to know is that if you don't have an appointment it will take a while for your dog to be taken care of. What made me a true believer so to speak is when earlier this year after ankle surgery, 4th floor walk-up, no help, my dog in dire need of a grooming, and getting turned away from Yopets (appointment only policy no exceptions) Nancy took us in. It's a great place over all some incidents have happened before and when I got my dog back she always has a cut or 2 but she come back clean and with accessories the lady Nancy is almost always nice but she does let the dogs roam free behind the counter which could lead to some problems but over all just a good place take your dog here they will be okay just make sure your dogs nice with strangers read more

Nancy is THE BEST! She's just so amazing, she's always very busy (that says something!). My little Yorkshire terrier doesn't like other dogs or people, but when she goes there she's a different dog, and becomes all well behaved! I think it's because she feels the love coming out of Nancy. She's the sweetest. I first herd of her when she would groom from her home many years ago and then decided to open her own shop. She has and shows so so much love for animals. I love this place, or rather my dog loves this place. Firstly, I used to take my dog to Venus and Delilah for over 2 years, but I have been seeing a decline in their service, Miguel over there was awesome, but the other not so much. It was the last straw when they cut my dogs lips while grooming. My 3 year old buddy is already an anxious little fellow, and this trauma added more to his anxiety. So began the quest to find another groomer who would show him some more love, compassion and comfort. Hello Petisa Spa! Who knew that there existed this gem of a place with the most sweetest caring person in Nancy to take care of your baby, like she calls them. Got an appt, went down there and she carefully listened to my concerns, handled him with so much love. She even called me an hour later to update me and let me know of how good he was being. What touched my heart was when I was going to pick him up, I peeked through the window, and here was my shy, anxious fella, just roaming around Nancy, like they knew each other. As far as the grooming, I was skeptic that I didnt explain well as to what I wanted, but it was like Nancy read my mind. The prices were much better than my previous place. Honestly guys, if you have a dog, please bring them here for grooming. Such places deserve our business and support, and our pets their love and care. read more

On Monday, December 11th I dropped my 4-month old mini goldendoodle at Nancy's shop, Petisa Spa for his grooming appointment. When I arrived at 11am, I noticed how busy she seemed, so I reminded her that I live on the same block and would be happy to come back when she has time to groom my puppy. She insisted that I leave him there, saying that since he is a puppy, he would be nervous to be groomed, so letting him wait there would help him to relax. She instructed a woman behind the counter (whom I assumed was one of her employees) to take my puppy downstairs, and assured me that he would be in good hands. (Note: when I confronted Nancy about this incident, to be discussed later, I discovered that the woman who took my dog downstairs did not in fact work at Nancy's shop, but had just delivered Nancy's lunch.) At this time, I also noticed several other dogs roaming free behind the counter. I left the shop and waited for a call to let me know when Franklin was ready to be picked up after his appointment. When I still had not heard from Nancy by 3pm, I began to worry, and called her shop. A man answered and asked me for my puppy's name. When I told him "Franklin," he seemed confused and asked if my puppy's name was "Fernando." This made me even more concerned, so I asked to speak with Nancy. She hopped on the phone and told me that my puppy had just gotten his bath and would be ready shortly. I asked for clarification on what exactly "shortly" meant, and she said that it would depend on how well he handles the noises during the haircut. Finally, around 6pm, I received a call saying Franklin was ready to be picked up. I rushed over to the shop, and arrived to see that Nancy was still grooming him on the table. We did not leave the shop until 6:30pm. The next day, Tuesday, December 12th around 5am Franklin threw up a navy blue sock and some of the food that he ate the night before. The navy blue sock did not belong to me, and did not come from my home, as I live alone. Franklin seemed fine for the remainder of the day, so I assumed that he would not have any future trouble. Wednesday, December 13th around 1am, Franklin once again threw up what seemed to be food and liquids. There were no other objects present in his vomit, but he appeared very lethargic and wouldn't eat, so I took him to the vet. They took x-rays, but said they were unclear, so they gave Franklin metronidazole liquid and told me to let them know if he throws up again. He threw up again around 3pm, and the vet told me to take him off all food and water for 12 hours and see if his condition improves. He slept through the night but still seemed weak and unwell. Thursday, December 14th, I took him back to the vet and they conducted another x-ray which they again said didn't show anything (later, I found out that the vet's x-ray were not of diagnostic quality). However, the vet did feel something in his stomach and recommended that I take him to the ER for an ultrasound. At the ER, they took a few more x-rays which clearly showed a fabric foreign body in his small intestine. They said that Franklin would need to undergo surgery immediately to have the object removed, and that he would need to remain in the hospital for two days for monitoring and recovery. I am thankful to report that after a very successful surgery at BluePearl Queens, Franklin is now recovering from the ordeal. As it turns out, the foreign body that was lodged in Franklin's small intestine was a small gray sock with paw prints on it. It looks as though it could have been a dog bootie -- in any case, I had never seen it before. I went to speak with Nancy after the incident to let her know what had happened. Given that I had seen dogs permitted to roam freely around the shop, and how busy Nancy is with all of her appointments, I asked if it was possible that my dog could have eaten something while wandering unsupervised around her store. She insisted that Franklin must have eaten the items while on a walk with me and there is no way he could have eaten them at her shop. I'm not sure how one could suggest that my dog ate TWO WHOLE SOCKS (one of which ironically had a paw print design) during one of our walks without me noticing. Moreover, why did Franklin need to stay there for ALMOST 8 HOURS when I specifically requested to minimize his time there, since I live just down the street? Nancy is nice, but given that my dog was at her shop for nearly 8 hours on a day she did not have any help (she mentioned her assistant called out sick on that day), I am not sure how well supervised he was during the time he was not on the grooming table and could have been roaming free during the time he was there. read more

After my pups was tramatized at the Petco grooming service, I had to find a new place for my babies to get haircuts. I did my research and like all worried parents, I wanted the best for my babies. I was told Petisa Spa was good and the recommendations came from friends that love their dogs as much as me. I made an appt and it was an easy process. Brought my puppies on a Thursday morning at 8:30am. Filled out the paperwork and she took my babies and assured me they will be fine. 12pm, we got the call they were ready and when we picked them up, my babies were happy and acting normal. This is the only place that I can bring my 80 pound dog to get groomed. He is a big marshmallow. But everyone else is too scared to touch him. Best groomer hands down. I have a miniature schnauzer and when I would take him to other groomers, he would come back with cuts, razor burn, uneven hair, and terrified. But after I found his place I have been in heaven. Nency (groomer) is like a dog whisperer. When u walk in there she is sometimes quietly telling the dog she is grooming that she loves them. And the dog is in a trance staring at her. She did it to my schnauzer. He licks her hands as she cuts his nails!!!!! He bites everyone except her! Trust me on this. Terrible on the phone personality! I had just called to inquire about the pricing and services for grooming my 2 yorkies. I've brought my boyfriend's dog to get groomed here previously and the lady is nice with dogs. However she was quite nasty on the phone with me when she informed me that I needed to provide proof of UTD vaccinations for my dogs. I've recently just moved and still have to look through their paperwork, to which I explained and said that I would call back to book an appointment. She curtly responded, "Well I don't believe that" with a condescending tone. She is an older lady, maybe stressed out with the work load, but she's still in the service industry and her interpersonal communication skills are subpar. Go to the place if you're a walk in (claims she only works by appointment) , but don't call to make any inquiries unless you want to tolerate unwarranted attitude. I'll pass moving forward and wouldn't not recommend based on rudeness over the phone. If she's like this with a simple question, how much more when one of my dogs are dealing with their separation anxiety? No thanks read more
